Mrs Tyler...it's weird that story about someone calling her work, because she actually came on a public thread of mine on Facebook and I brought that up and she said that wasn't what happened. That she had trouble with people from the blog and that no one from here called her work. When I said that was the story I'd heard here, she flat out said it was wrong. Um people on the blog were peas. ETA: if she says they didn’t call her work then I guess they didn’t. However, her work address and personal info was posted. I saw it. Now that you bring up the blog, I may have seen it posted there not on 2 peas. It was still uncalled for and should not have been posted anywhere. |

If I were to post here the screen name of the person who tracked down and then posted my personal information on the board, I would be told by several members 1) to stop playing the victim and 2) to check my white privilege, take a step back, and reconsider tone policing another member on the board. If you really want to know who did it to me, it is all covered in the Amy Cooper thread, much as I loathe to drag that thread up as it turned into a bash-me thread. The person did it to me a year or so ago. She definitely was not banned for doing so - I have no idea if she received a warning from admin or not. Apparently, posting personal identifying information is not a ban-able offense here, so no point in wishing for it, even though it isn’t unreasonable to expect it. I posted elaine full name. Many people have brought it up here as if it’s a secret and I didn’t stand by having done so. However I did not go about finding or posting her home address. I haven’t sent hate mail to any pea to include @leowife and I’m sorry you’ve had that experience here at 2peas. If Elaine felt threatened (and she should if I actually posted her home address or any other identifying information) she wouldn’t have engaged with me as she has here. Stop playing the victim when it was you who made a racist comment to me. I simply attached your name to what you felt never deserved an apology. I’ve never done any swaps in my history here at 2peas and have no access to any list that contains the home addresses of peas. Be mindful of what black people are going through right now and don’t drag my name into shit that doesn’t involve me. You also posted her city, state and a few other details, if I remember correctly. |

I guess that depends on your personal experience with her. Mine was memorable - and not in a good way.
We are friends on FB. I try not to focus on how someone feels politically, but how they are as a human. I've seen her be nothing but kind. I can look past someone's political leanings and see them for more than that. It'd be nice if more ppl here could do that.
She was quite vicious to me, nothing to do with politics. I was new on the old board and have never forgotten it. I’m glad she’s nice to you, just wanted to add that not everyone’s experience is the same.  |

Some of you will remember me telling about my friend got that shi t from people I believe to include AN. So I know full well how shocking and hurtful and scary it is to be on the receiving end of anonymous hate. To me, if you have an issue, you say it and own it. I know for sure someone contacted her work, maybe didn’t call, but email or letter? Or maybe on a public group she didn’t want that out?! I always remembered it as her being the one to come on the board and say she was leaving because someone had contacted her work and she was called in front of her principal over it. Interesting that she now claims it never happened. This was brought up recently and I was surprised at how many people said she was never nasty/mean on the old board. She was one of only a very few people I ever blocked because of the things she posted about special needs and other races. |

Haven't been on here much recently and came on today to find all this going on. I am really sad and disgusted that someone would do that. It does say a lot about how miserable they must be in their lives though. So sorry that you had to deal with this type of personal attack, @leowife. It would scare me off these types of board if that happened to me. Well done for being so strong!

I've been offline all weekend - just logged in and saw this. Sickens and saddens me. I'm also married to a LEO ( 25+ years of service). It's been a difficult time for the whole nation. I try to type my thoughts and keep stopping because I don't want to offend anyone. The actions of Derek Chauvin were despicable and I hope people realize he doesn't represent the entire law enforcement community.
My hope is that this horrible situation brings about change and reform and that all people are treated with the same level of respect.

I find this whole situation horrifying but I am very against making this a closed board.
When I started here (2Peas) I was in my 30s. Everyone was talking about weddings and babies. Now we talk about menopause. Without new people stumbling in here we are going to die, and I mean that literally. I welcome the variety of life experiences and I don't want to lose that.
Doxxing is horrible. I'm sure I've shared enough information over the years that people can find me if they really wanted to. It is scary but it is an element of risk I accept when I use this forum. Even if we closed this forum, we still have a huge number of members, and not all of them are nice people, unfortunately.
I do think people who are doxxing should be banned, though.

I am so sorry this happened. I have learned over the years not to post anything even remotely inflammatory or get involved in any discussions. While I respect other people's opinions, it isn't fair to make judgements about people without knowing them in real life. This place is pretty toxic.

Yes, I’m fairly certain Lauren was one of the two (or more) people sharing that userid. The other person lives in Chicago (she brought up an immigrant protest that made it difficult for her to get to work, and Chicago was the only city that had a protest on that particular day). Her posting interests align with an old-time pea from Chicago who hasn’t posted under her name from the old board for the past 5.5 years - my guess is that she is the other person, but I, or course, could be wrong, so I won’t name her. On the old board, I know that there was at least one instance of two right leaning peas sharing the same alter. They shared the logon info and took turns posting as that person. I think that was going on in the case of lovetocolor which is why she could so vehemently deny she was Lauren - the person posting at that time wasn’t Lauren, it was the other user sharing the username. |
