Page 4 love: Linda 'Helpers?' Cuteness galore! I love black kitties (and dogs). How incredibly cute that you repeated the keyboard with a bit of light reflecting off the keys with the black and white dot pattern paper? Great contrast play in your selection of papers here! The offset paw print rectangle brings just the right amount of whimsy to make this so pleasing to the eye. Meow! 'Delivered' Between the Advent candle wreath and Saint Nick celebration, you're taking me back to a specific time in childhood with your pages this crop, Linda! I love how you included everyone's filled boots/shoes despite the distance separating you and made sure they sent you photo evidence. It's such a great way to continue scrapbooking family traditions even when you're apart. Very pretty vintage Santa figure in the background, by the way. The red matting makes the photos pop and also brings cohesion to the tradition whilst being away from home. lynnek 'Owen's 1st Christmas' This is such a pretty page! I love all the mirroring happening here: three baubles for three people featured, the oversized round bauble design mimicking the soft circle of the embrace of the arms holding Owen up, the three large strips of cardstock for the striped shirt, the sprigs tucked in behind the baubles as a nod to the bouquet in the window. Perfection all around! Such a great colour combination as well. That softer, yellow-tinted shade of green matches the beauty of the moment captured (and the walls in the photo) so well. Kudos to you!

Page 5 love (part 1): Linda 'Smokey' Those asterisks look just like snowflakes! Great little nod to the Yuletide season (although I doubt you see much snow in your nook of the US ). I love when people capture and scrapbook these everyday moments. Smokey looks super comfy. That colour scheme you chose fits perfectly. The red brings a real pop to the page. Love the graphic play on the bottom half of your LO with the large heart and those overlayed banners. Great job balancing everything to get some high contrast going all around! 'Christmas Party' Great idea to use the red in the clothing as your anchor for the background: it really brings the project full circle. Love how you placed the pictures at an angle to bring some dynamic to your page and break up the big rectangular and circular shapes. The green touches bring just the right amount of contrast and complementary Christmas colour to make this LO extra festive. That "spine" of cream with the gold foil elements is an elegant way to ground the different layers while bringing in a touch of sparkle. Very well done! grammadee 'Team work makes meal work' Where to start, where to start? Be still, my scrappy heart. Those large white circles to represent dishes, aaah! I love it. Those strips of pattern paper at an angle remind me of a pile of happily mismatched crockware, how adorable. Amazing work to get everything perfectly balanced: the vertical strip of square photos versus the block of pattern papers, the top and bottom disposition of the alpha Thickers on both sides, the two oven gloves with the heart to mirror the little chef holding the bowl of cucumber salad. So pretty and pleasing to the eye! Shan't even mention that you offset the orange in the photos with the blue in your paper choices. Gah, it's colour wheel perfection. Oh, and the journaling on the outside of the circles/dishes, everything I love...

sleepingbooty - I always love your detailed comments Your Christmas mini album is coming along wonderfully! I love how the photos take centre stage but there's just enough embellishment and journalling to enhance them. Your holiday season looks magical!

Page 5 love (part 2): justjac 'Merry Christmas baby' Beautiful LO! I love how dynamic you've made this: the banners popping out from the top and bottom of the main photo, the flourishes on the green paper leading the eye to the flurry of square photos and the block of horizontal pics to close up this double-pager. So much life and energy... You've done great with your photo treatments as well: the tight pattern paper mat, the white framing and the vertical sequence. It makes your page that much more fun to take in for the eye! Superb job. @sunnycalimom 'Zoom class' Oooh, I love a clean page with a white background! Those slightly superposed square photos make for a great focal point. Great subtility in this with the white-on-white work (the photo frames on the white background, the strip of turquoise pattern paper to cut i in between the cardstock and the other pattern paper). Those star clusters are perfectly placed to help the eye move across the page and take everything in. What a great pandemic habit to document. Your kiddo will love looking back on how he lived through this unusual time one day. Linda 'Stockings hung by the chimney' The colour extraction strikes again (much to my delight): love that you used the cream and bright turquoise from the photos to help build your page. It makes it that much more fun to look at everything and take it in. Those strips of the dark grey pattern paper are wonderfully placed to help frame the photos and mirror the dark shade of the firebox. I love that you went with a non-traditional paper too while still looking for a symbol that fits the Christmas theme: those plus signs are a wonderful reminder that togetherness is the true spirit of the season. 'The magic of Christmas' I adore the window frame design you went with here. So cosy and comfy! You created a lovely window to peer into the outside activities you did. What a great diversity of shots you brought together on this page: nature, a shop window and someone in the car. Seeing this LO is like being taken on your day out! I love how you took the red (and the pattern!) of the poinsettias to further ground your project. Such a classic yet entertaining final result.

I also worked on my Pandemic mini album today... What can I say? I was feeling productive. Music of April in quarantine: Netflix released the new season of one my favourite shows in April (praise be!): The "big" project of lockdown in an apartment without outside space, watching ALL of Pretty Little Liars (whatever possessed me? ):

you have been productive sleepingbooty and that's an awesome pandemic album with music and tv and great simple yet striking pages A lot Netflix has been watched over the past three months. A lot of use has been gotten out of the headphones as well. All worth recording to set the lockdown/quarantine/shelter in place atmosphere for the future. France is the first country to start a nation-wide, science-led Covid-19 impact project. The Covid-19 Ad Memoriam Institute created by the French National Centre for Scientific Research just started working today on how this pandemic has affected the French and the world in all aspects (physical health, mental health, coping with illness + death, economy, sociology, daily habits, sanitary responses, etc.) as it swept across the globe and caused a major anthropological rupture. I thought it fitting to start my own pandemic rememberance project at the same time. This is important stuff. Recording helps remembering, remembering helps to set in place better mechanisms for similar events in the future and build better global resilience.

I need to sit down and have a good look at what everyone is up to! This morning I got a bunch of my FIL’s (late MIL’s) vintage brass collectibles listed on Fbk Marketplace, which was a pain in the backside (they seemed to think I was trying to sell stolen cigarette lighters, copper wire, and marijuana, rather than an old-timey fire starter, and copper and brass post & pans, or at least I THINK that’s the issue they had - they don’t actually tell you which rule you’re breaking when they flag you. Sigh...) So my crafty time was 3-6pm again, and I got through all the rest of the Christmas cards from last year and the ones I had gotten stuck on the year before. So much glitter (yuck!) but I finished 2 more slimline cards and 27 more A2 cards. So I think I’m up to 83 cards for the crop I’ll share a picture tomorrow when there is light.

What wonderful pages you are creating, sleepingbooty! Glad you are getting some Covid pages done as well as your DD. I am jealous that you have watched The Last Kingdom season 4. I am [not so] patiently for the DVD to come out. lynnek, could those girls be any CUTER??? Love everything about this page. Awesome that you met all the prompts! I have been scrapping every day this week, but most of my sharing is in the Challenges sharing thread b/c it is not Chrismas related. Have been checking off the prompts as I met them though. Hoping to get some scrapping done on the weekend. Getting some more photos printed today. And I hope to drop in on at least one of the Hangouts. BUT.... We need to get out into the garden on Saturday to get some things done. It is finally just dry enough to walk on, and there is more rain forecast for Sunday, so a short window...

I'm adding pandemic pages to my family album One day, we'll reflect back on this weird time and all the details we'll have recorded on the fly will give depth to a the larger picture we can't see yet as we're still in the eye of the storm. Scrapbookers and documenters record history like it simply cannot be recorded by anyone else. It's a part of our collective being that can't be captured by human and social sciences without us surrendering our personal pages. I remember those world war era albums and notebooks filled with personal recollections, meal planning with rations, etc. So precious. Maybe we could do a weekend crop for pandemic documenting on the board? What do you think, grammadee ? This morning I got a bunch of my FIL’s (late MIL’s) vintage brass collectibles listed on Fbk Marketplace, which was a pain in the backside (they seemed to think I was trying to sell stolen cigarette lighters, copper wire, and marijuana, rather than an old-timey fire starter, and copper and brass post & pans, or at least I THINK that’s the issue they had - they don’t actually tell you which rule you’re breaking when they flag you. Sigh...) But but but... maybe the copper pots were filled with marijuana? Pot coming full circle! I am jealous that you have watched The Last Kingdom season 4. I am [not so] patiently for the DVD to come out. Oh, it's a good season, grammadee . Major decisions being made, Uhtred's maturing over the years showing (and that's not the only thing he's showing this season, if ya get what I mean). If you can borrow someone's Netflix for a week, you can just get to it... Also, you should totally share your non-Christmas pages with us in here!

lynnek 'Hip Hop Nutcracker' This is such a fun yet minimalis-ish page! I love the storytelling narrative with the disposition of the photos: very dynamic while keeping a clean look. The extra grey mat under the main picture is a genius little trick to make it pop a bit more. How neat is that you mirrored the photo lineup with those overlapping banners at the top? Very neat. The pattern paper is absolutely gorgeous and my graphic brain loves how the triangular shapes "fit" rigt into the banner endings! But my scrappy heart finds utter bliss in the stitching... So pretty and just the slightest touch of irregularity to make this feel organic and finished. Beautifully done! Very, very my style.

I tried to take a photo of all the cards I upcycled but there were too many - a good problem to have! So I took photos of a few of the cards where I had to get pretty creative to make them work. (with apologies to anyone who recognizes their card cut up - it's for a good cause) The original card was a very large tropical pineapple with the design continued on the back. I was able to get 3 cards out of it and I think they still look good even with the pineapple aspect slightly obscured. The one off to the side will be landscape -not sure why I had it portrait for the photo. I used my new sentiment stamp from The Ton. June Upcycled Xmas cards by jo.blackford, on Flickr The original illustrated dog card was large and square with another panel on the back or inside with more dogs. I used them all up on 2 cards (one more dog is hiding inside the slimline card). For the slimline card I cut the square card in half and then cut the lower dogs apart and trimmed the white edges off. I liked the way the green edge looked brushed so I didn't want to trim the main panel, and the dogs broke the frame too, so I kept that intact. June Upcycled Xmas cards by jo.blackford, on Flickr This was a photo card. I trimmed off the part with the family name and spilt the sentiment so I could make 2 smaller cards. June Upcycled Xmas cards by jo.blackford, on Flickr The one on the left was huge, so I fussy cut the sentiment to lay over the top part of the card. The one on the right was from a postcard mailer for a local concert. You can actually see the little orange barcode lines running down the left side if you look closely. I just cut the branding/concert details off that one. I loved those little gnomes (until they started appearing everywhere!) I tried watercoloring for the first time. It was fun, but took multiple tries to get popsicles that actually look like popsicles, lol. The layout finishes up Tuesday's challenges (design = oversized popsicles / theme = food), though not a holiday layout.

sleepingbooty It looks like your Christmas mini (ETA AND pandemic mini!) is coming along well. Love that advent calendar page! And the minimalist design. I saw some of Jamaica Edgell’s pages recently and wondered why I can’t be minimal like that - your style reminds me of hers a bit. Just enough words. I was thinking about your journaling strips this morning. I always cut a piece off each side of my shipping labels when I send out an order, and I’ve been trying to use those pieces in my virus diaries - just as self adhesive white paper I can write or stamp on and maybe mess up instead of messing up my notebook page. Today I cut the extra bits into thin strips so I can use them to write journaling strips if I want to. My trimmer is uncooperative with thin strips unless you’re cutting them off the edges of a wider piece so precutting them this way will save me some headaches.

Here's to finishing those pages, @cumber1137! As I go through my albums looking for pages to include in my dgd's grad book, I have discovered whole PAGES waiting to be completed! I have tucked photos, paper, even a couple of dies once, into a page protector and moved on... Love your creativity in repurposing those Christmas cards, joblackford. I think it is lovely to extend for another season the joy that one card brings. Ryann, your watercoloured popsicles look YUMMY! And they are perfect for this page. (PS don't forget to count this page for the Donna challenge too).

Did I miss the prompts for Day Five? I have days one to four written down... My bad, ladies! As the Pixies say, where is my mind? Friday June 12 challenges: DESIGN | Flurry of snow! Get some snowy action going by using a dotted paper, adding sequins or mixed media splatter, making a shaker pocket, etc. THEME | Home WORDS | A wish is a dream your heart makes: include something related to wishing or wanting. It can be as simple as a classic "We wish you a merry Christmas" sentiment, the wish list your kiddo made or documenting your hopes and desires for the New Year (or post-pandemic times if you're documenting current memories). As long as it's related to wishing, wanting, hoping, you're good!
