I went to one of our stores today. The craft section was a mess. Not sure why people have to throw everything down to get something from the back. The paper section is usually 6 rows of paper down to 4. I didn't see anything new in the craft section. Some tags said 4/20, but I didn't see any 5/20 or 6/20.
My store that is closing said the only new items they will get will be food. No returns. The employees will all go to the other stores after they close. Goof thing because the manager at one store said they are having a hard time getting employees to return.

My stores got a tiny shipment this week. There were just a few stickers and some non scrapping crafts.

I am on the search for Vicki Boutin’s cool color art crayons. They are sold in several online stores for $15, but I got 2 of my sets at TM for $6.29, and saw those same colors for $4.99 today. I have been to 3 locations so far, and all of them had at least one box, but none had the color set I’m looking for. I don’t want to pay $15, or even $10 if I don’t have to!

I stopped by one today. It is NOT on the closure list (so far), but I have never seen the store shelves so sparse. I assumed that they hadn’t gotten any truck deliveries in months, but the cashier said they had gotten one truck. She also said they have loaded trucks, ready to go, but they are having trouble finding drivers, so those trucks aren’t going anywhere in the meantime.
I found a background stamp that I liked, a few 6x6 paper pads, sequin tins with different colors than I had, 1/8 inch red line tape, a few toys for the grandkids to play with when they come over, and an adorable outfit for a baby girl that I plan to give to a family member. It was not a wasted trip, even if the shelves did seem rather bare.

I imagine it will take weeks or months to get back to normal.

Well that was sad. Stopped in at the closest TM this afternoon. It’s not on the official closing list, but it sure looks like it. The paper crafting aisle is almost empty. Fully half of what’s left is marked 20% off. Lots and lots of empty shelves. The food aisle is virtually empty. All furniture is marked down.
DH bought some Caramel Corn and I bought 1 Bo Bunny paper pad. I doubt I’ll go back
I love that little store and I’ll miss it.

It's my understanding the company clearances stock every quarter, so it's double the usual amount because it represents two quarters (2Q & 3Q) of clearanced items. Also, the supply chain is interrupted due to a global pandemic & the company downsizing to one central warehouse, so it may take a couple months for the shipping schedule to normalize & new inventory to arrive. Perhaps call next week to ask when they expect the next truck. Hope it arrives soon full of crafty supplies!

They closed the one near me a while back. A few days ago I went to the one that’s a little farther away and now it’s closing too. That one is tiny and located in the back of a strip mall . There’s no sign in the front so you have to already know it’s there. I’m surprised it lasted this long. The next nearest is 20 minutes away. Add 5 minutes since they’re working on that freeway exit. I haven’t been to that one in years and they never had crafting stuff. Maybe it’s changed. I’ll have to check it out.

The one in FV is decent has more craft stuff than the LH did. I've been to it several times because it is on the way to my parents house. I appreciate that it is right off the freeway. There is also now an Aldi in that shopping center so I usually hit both!

Anyone getting stock from Arizona will not get the same stuff at all of their stores. A friend found some stuff at a store I forgot to go to last week but it didn't arrive at the Monday location this week. Apparently they're trying to clear as much as they can from there before it reaches a manageable size and then the rest will be shipped to Dallas. Hopefully more of the stuff she found will trickle in at the other 3 stores...but I'm going to make a concerted effort to take a peek at all 3 of the later in the week truck day stores anyway. There were a few thickers sets that she found that I really want.

Has anyone been to the one in MA recently? I will be about 30 min away tomorrow, wondering if it’s worth a detour?

I went to a Super Target and couldn't believe how picked over almost every section in the store was. I wasn't looking for things like Clorox wipes or even canned good. I couldn't find kid's clothes in the sizes I needed, bedding, toys, or even a rug I wanted. I was surprised by how bad it was.

They had some new Thickers so I picked up a few. They might have added more Bo Bunny and Project Life items as well. My little haul today included 3 Thickers-the Blessed, Sarah and Swing. Then I got 3 12x12 paper pads-EP Work Hard Play Hard, picked mostly for the neutral papers, AC Wildflower, and Websters Pages Color Crush (which is just gorgeous). Then I also picked up 2 6x6 MME pads-Cozy Christmas and Follow Your Heart which is one of my all time favorites from MME. So although not much seemed new, I definitely was pleased with my purchase.

I know which one you are talking about and it’s not that one. Darn.

Could it be that much more popular than the others? Strange. Thanks for thinking of me, though! 🤗

I went to our north store today and they had two loaded baskets of crafts. Lots of photo albums (old style where you slip in photos), ephemera for various lines (lots of Shimelle), Maggie Holmes, and various Thickers. As I was searching through the baskets a voice said, "Are you from 2 Peas?" Ha. Apparently my t-shirt with corgis and tacos gave me away. I met ColoradoCropper. Fun to meet a pea!
I talked to the manager and he said that they were having problems finding people to drive the trucks and that he had lost 6 people that aren't coming back. (To be fair, I don't believe TM hires many full time employees and that is rough for lots of employees.) He said that they had been told that by August they should be back to normal. Everything I found in the cart still had the 3/20 and 4/20 stickers on them so this is all stuff they had prior to the shutdown I believe.

Per one of the local store managers, area stores received one truck two weeks ago (5/18), the only one since re-opening after the stay at home order was lifted, & tentatively expect trucks to resume in two weeks (6/15). The flow of deliveries/inventory is interrupted by both closure of the company's Phoenix warehouse & delivery chain schedule interruptions. Update: Our stores have yet to receive a new delivery since 5/18. A local store manager is uncertain when the next truck will arrive & whether it will include missed spring or fall items. UGH!

Not the OP, but the 4 numbers in the upper right corner of the TM price tag represent the two digits of each the month & year TM offers the item for sale (eg 0119 = Jan 2019; 0320 = March 2020). Depending on shipping/unloading/shelving schedules, note certain stores may receive/offer products for sale in the month(s) before or after the date appearing on the tag.

On the top right of the price tag, it will say 0320 for March 2020 sent to the store. Every sticker has a date. It is what they use to pull the older items off of the shelf to go into the sale area. Every quarter (or so) they pull merchandise and start it off as 20% off. The date isn't really set in stone, because we get things with the next month halfway into the current month, but for the most part, they give you a good idea how old merch is.

Yep, we were fishing through the carts together and chatting. I thought to myself that how cool it was that this "stranger" liked all the same stuff and she was so friendly. Then, I saw her Corgi shirt and the light bulb went off that this was no stranger. She was a PeaFriend!

I went in but it looked like all pre-pandemic things as far as I could tell, except the MH Sunny Days paper pad. Crafts was really thin on merchandise. There were people shopping in there so it seems to be doing OK for foot traffic. Wish I had some idea when to go back (like when they have new things).
