I was trying to capture my inner scrapmaven to say something inspiring this morning. In less than a month, my friends will remember the life of Kate Steinle, the young woman shot in SF while walking with her dad on a pier. We were at a gathering last October honoring the owner of our office and sat with Kate's parents. They chatted and laughed with us but I know Kate is always on their minds. Anyway, today's message was one of Kate's favorite sayings “ Whatever is good for your soul — do that.” Because of temps nearing 100, we're having that favorite salad with greens, strawberries, grilled chicken, etc. What's on your menu? ETA: Hopefully our fearless leader will be home resting today.

We are having honey garlic pork chops, baked potatoes, and green beans.
Ds wants to invite his gf for dinner. I'm not sure my dh wants people in our house yet so I passed the buck and told ds to ask his father. Dh works as a logistic manager for a trucking company so he is more worried about "giving the virus to someone rather than getting it" but both ds and his gf work in a grocery store so they are exposed anyways. So complicated just to have a dinner guest

We are having fish cake tacos with mango salsa and lime/cumin yogurt. It is another recipe from the book I got for my birthday a couple of weeks back. I have made the fish mixture and it smells really good, even raw. I got all the ingredients fresh at the market this morning, as I had to go into the city again to my doctor for blood tests.

I'm heading to the dentist for a cleaning this morning. I figured if I was okay with seeing my hairdresser earlier in the week I shouldn't cancel the dentist because of social distancing concerns. Dinner will be a ginger garlic chicken and broccolini stir fry.

I'll be having dinner with my parents, sister and nieces. I'm going to suggest we go out and find the Greek food truck I went to this weekend. Bless her heart, but my mom is a terrible cook. She is in the habit of cooking to fit my dad's bland and boring taste buds. I walked another 3 miles this morning...I have a goal of walking 20 miles a week. Not just steps, but active-heart-rate-increased walking. I'm on track for the week, but will need to do 11 more miles in by Saturday. I feel SO MUCH better on days I do a good walk. We want to hear you are resting well and maybe even home, scrapmaven

The arrows have been helping plant our annual flowers in pots. Their sharp points are unmatched in skill at making holes. Also, it's a good lesson in getting along with arrows that are different in some minor way from other arrows. They actually band together to solve that inevitable problem of one arrow attempting to make a large enough hole for the beautiful flowers. We are having grilled chicken, spinach, a sweet potato for me and rice for dh. Fresh pineapple for dessert. Thank you for your diligence in posting today's thread cadoodlebug . We adore you, oh Substitute Grand Poobah!

I took some spaghetti sauce out of the freeze and am now faced with the momentous decision of what shape of pasta to serve.

I went to my mailbox yesterday and what did I find? Some lovely Christmas tags for my scrapbooks from my dear friend desertgirl. I ran this morning but I only made it 1.7 miles today. My body hurts from all this painting. I don't know what's for dinner. After days of painting in the heat I just don't feel like cooking so I'm keeping my options open. I hope scrapmaven is resting well right now. Happy Global Running Day from my sweaty self. And here's a sneak peak of how my house painting is coming along.

barefootcontessa.com/recipes/parmesan-chickenI made this the other night. And there’s plenty left over so I think I’ll make tomato Parmesan with it. No pasta though. I have some fingerling potatoes I need to cook. I’ll add Italian seasoning to them and some kind of fruit. I’ll be busy stripping this antique door my contractor removed from an 1800s house to use as my new back door. He had a client that was throwing them away! I hope you’re resting scrapmaven

Hello fellow tribe members. :-)
I've been absent for a couple of days, I'm not sure why, but it's been hectic. Dinner this evening will be leftovers, DH has a real estate appointment an hour from home and I'm leaving on a road trip to see my oldest son and his family for a couple of weeks in the morning. Packing and prepping here today.
Wishing everyone good vibes and a happy week, I'm not sure how much I'll check in while I'm out of town. But know that I'm here in spirit and will be cooking, cleaning and helping out while my son and daughter in law are working. I'm out of the habit of feeding picky kids.

I never made it to the store yesterday so tonight will be the broccoli and chicken stuffed potatoes. I WILL go to the store today!!
jeremysgirl I was just thinking about you this morning wondering how the painting project was going! Looks really good! How are you applying the paint? Looks like the texture of the siding would be a pain to paint.
teddyw I would love to see a picture of the antique door.
scrapmaven Hope you are doing well today.

The arrows love that color, jeremysgirl . A few launched to give you support in your labor. Not the smelly one, though, because you probably smell PU-stinky after that run. No need to add to that!

Caprese Turkey Burgers on brioche (for everyone but me), I’ll eat my burger without a bun.
I am not sure what else to pair it with other than green salad and cut up fruit.

Tonight we are having Chicken Teriyaki from Kevin's Natural Foods (thank you to the enabler who turned me on to these!) and rice with steamed broccoli. Where did you find them? I ordered them online because they are only available in my area at a health food store that is not particularly close to my home.
The Chipotle Lime chicken was so good! I served it with Cilantro Lime Rice (Zatarain's) and Black beans and we made burrito bowls out of it. I have never had precooked chicken that was as good as this!

Tonight I wanted to go out, but he who I hatched believes I can cook well and wants to eat at home. It will be some species of fish for them and maybe shrimp for me. If it’s halibut I could have that.
I am trying to get my tv to work right but the remotes both suck and trying to turn on the tv manually just is not going to work.
The kids are here and we are having a great time.

Delta Dawn Is it the batteries in the remote? When our remote freezes, I change them and it works.

Thank you so much for your dear posts about me. THank you for the good thoughts and prayers. I am in shock, but I'm home and resting. Honestly, I think I have lots of sedation still in my system, so I'm not paying attention to my bad mood. I haven't hit the "why me" stage and I am trying to bypass(no pun intended, heart stuff) stage. I'm probably going to need another stent but they're hoping the the gazillion new meds will stave it off. They're going to watch me like a hawk and my cardiologist wants to start working w/my neuro-gi to manage everyting. Anyway, thank you for staying awake if you've read this far. cadoodlebug, your post this am made me proud. You did an awesome job leading the tribe. I'm grateful to you for stepping in the past couple of days. It's times like this that as much I might feel sorry for my self I am more grateful for dear friends and positivity. We can learn from things that bring us down and remember that stuff is non-essential, but love is everything. Ok, back to zoning out.

I made Marion's Crispy Honey Chilli Beef which we had with some leftover coconut rice. I also stir fried some veggies for DD and I, needless to say the boys didn't eat them. I ran this morning but I only made it 1.7 miles today. My body hurts from all this painting. It all adds up. And it's about 1.65 more than I'd be able to do! If it makes you feel like you've achieved more, you could say "I ran 2.73588 kilometres today." PS. That colour looks great on you. Thanks for checking in scrapmaven .

I'm glad youre back scrapmaven AussieMeg thank you. I'm using muscles painting that I never use like that. And then I ran today and my whole body was sore. I did the 1.7 miles at 16 pace. Seriously I struggled today. But it is a runners holiday so I felt like since this is the first one that I'm a runner and I wanted to participate.

Sleep Country is going to switch out my mattress for $50. Yay! I hope this solved my back pain issues. My mattress is extra firm and while I love it at 10 pm, 7 am kills me.
