There are a handful of vellum embellishments included in her ephemera die cuts pack, including jars, a butterfly net, a bug house/cage, and some assorted bugs. If you have these, do you have an idea about how you'll be using them? Have you seen any examples on social media that you could link here? I'd prefer to see/read scrapbook layout ideas, but I'd appreciate card ideas too. I'm stuck.

Hmm, I don’t think Shimelle has shown how she’s using them so far, except as a quick demo of how they can overlay as she goes through the die cut pack. I don’t think I’ve seen any specific examples of them in use, although I’m not the most observant.

I recently saw someone use the fishbowl(?) to "house" a die cut frog. No idea where I saw it, though. Likely YouTube. Not very helpful, sorry.
ETA: I threw most of the bugs away. I don't do bugs, cartooned or otherwise!

I think my biggest stumbling block is that the vellum images are kind of cloudy. They're such a contrast to sharper images on the stickers and cardstock die cuts. So it's not the theme that's the big problem for me, it's the material. I feel like the cloudy and the sharp are fighting with each other. I think I might like the contrast if the vellum is just one of many different materials and textural elements on the page. I just want to see some examples of how those elements might be combined on a card or in a big mega-cluster. ~~~~~~~~~~~ I think I found the frog in the jar layout that Ryann mentioned when I made a google image search. It was good, but I still want to see more examples. Plus, I've already used my frog, lol. I looked at #acnevergrowup on IG, but I didn't see any of the vellum pieces. lilacgal , I saw that you've been working with this collection. Any thoughts? Is Shimelle a RefuPea? Help me Glitter Girl !!! ~~~~~~~~~~~ ETA, I saw tonight that Shimelle reposted a Glitter Girl video on her FB page, and she used a sheet of vellum on the page too. It was used as a layer rather than as an embellishment, but still ... fun coincidence!

She is, although I don’t think she’s active, but tagging her might work - shimelle ? I think emailing her directly or asking on her Fbk group is the fastest way to reach her. www.facebook.com/groups/scrapbooklikeasuperhero/?source_id=145717706076919 I think her email is shimelle@gmail.com Facebook messages aren’t good - hard to sort the spam from the real, and Fbk gets pissy if you don’t answer right away as a business. IG may be the same.

lilacgal , I saw that you've been working with this collection. Any thoughts? I don’t know if I’ve used any of the larger vellum pieces yet. I struggle with vellum because you’ve got to hide the adhesive. I am so bad about remembering that part of it! Now that summer break has started though, I have time to create. This seems like a fun challenge. Let me see what I can come up with!

I went to check on which vellum pieces I had left. All but the single floral piece! Hmmm...I have some thoughts...
I will say that I doubt I'll use the worm vellum piece. The ant is iffy too.

What a beautiful page! I love those big clusters - I always struggle with those. I'm going to go watch your video ~~~~~ Okay, I watched it. I have to say right off the bat that I love how you explain your thought processes as you're making your decisions. My biggest takeaways were (1) I don't have to put anything behind the vellum. No rules. Just because I can kind of see through it doesn't mean that's the only way it can be used. (2) Just because they're critter keepers doesn't mean I have to put critters in/on them. Again, no rules. I love the way you "filled" them with the florals. I think I'm going to borrow that from you. And (3) add more and more stuff, which I already knew would be the way to handle it, but I needed to see those mega-cluster examples, and you made 3 really awesome ones. Thanks Amy! I'm sure your page is going to encourage lots of scrappers to finally use those vellum pieces we've been shying away from for the last 2 months.

It was fun to create. Honestly, I don’t know if I would have used them unless you asked about it. Now I’m looking at those die cuts wishing I had more large vellum pieces! 💜

ETA: Shimelle gave an example of making a shaker box on her Friday Live today. She mentions that someone here posted about it. She said next time she will put one on a LO. Sorry. Fixed my typo. No idea where DING came from! Ugh

Shimelle used these on a LO on her Friday Live today. She mentions that someone here posted about it. I'm going to bet her layout puts mine to shame. I love her talent!!

msliz after this discussion, which I thought was just theoretical for me, I discovered that I actually have those vellum pieces too! I forgot that they came with one of the die cut packs I bought. lol. Did you see that Shimelle used them again in this week's Fbk live? The video is in 2 parts because her connection dropped. I haven't watched the first part yet but it looks like she used at least 3 of them and layered some vellum bugs, so probably the most obvious and literal way to use them, in line with her original intentions for them (assuming they were actually her idea). www.facebook.com/glittershim/videos/1184206855305090

I guess I'll probably use them one at a time on cards, probably backed with plain paper like she did in her Monday video, with the critters inside. They might be nice nostalgia cards for seniors. They're nice big elements, which I do like for cardmaking, but vellum can be a pain. We'll see. I'm feeling a bit burned out right now, and feeling bad about all the expensive dies I've bought lately and not used yet.
