For a little idea of the genre we like...Over the past year we have watched all of: ozark, Blacklist, Wentworth, and just finished Homeland (and I watched Dead to Me when dh wasn’t around!) We have Netflix but probably have prime too just haven’t explored it.
We didn’t care for You.
What’s next?

I just added The Woods and Reckoning to my Netflix list. Both look like they’re part of the genre you enjoy.
ETA: Oh—The Stranger is really good, too.

I just finished Line Of Duty on Prime (got the Sundance free month trial) and based on that I am now watching Bodyguard on Netflix. I loved Homeland too.
I googled shows like Line of Duty and Bodyguard was recommended, like other UK shows of this sort it's a 6 episode arc.

The Woods starts today (6E) on Netflix. It’s from a Harlan Coben book. There’s also two other Coben series I’m planning on watching : SAFE (Netflix ‘18 - 10 Episodes and THE FIVE (Netflix ‘16 - 10E).
THE STRANGER (also a Coben book) was good too.
THE OUTER BANKS (10E). Also very good; a modem day treasure hunt & mystery.

We are currently watching: Upright (an Australian show with Tim Minchin) - Well worth watching but I doubt it's available anywhere else yet. After Life (Ricky Gervais) Season 2 Money Heist season 2 We also recently finished Mind Hunter season 2 Bosch is my #1 favourite Cardinal is brilliant, if you haven't already seen that
If you haven't watched any UK crime series yet, I highly recommend them. Particularly Happy Valley and Line of Duty.

Have you seen Designated Survivor? It’s up that alley. A little farfetched but very entertaining.

I just finished Unbelievable over the weekend and it was really good. Although it's about rape - it's not overly graphic showing the rape, that part is in flashbacks and women talking about it, it's more about the police and how the investigate. Toni Collette & Merritt Wever are great as the 2 female detectives. AussieMeg have you watched this? I think you'd like it. Based on that, I now want to watch Run which also stars Merritt Wever

We've just finished series 1 of Marcella, another Brit cop drama, on Netflix. There are 2 series so far, and series 3 is coming soon, each series 8 episodes, and each covers a particular case.

I'd forgotten all about Marcella, it's been a couple of years since I watched the first two seasons. Fabulous show, I recommend this one too. Run was a disappointment. I was hoping for / expecting something better from Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
I enjoyed Unbelievable, and wished that the 2 female detectives could be in another show together!

If you feel like watching a reality series, 100% not trashy, Lenox Hill on Netflix is excellent. I love medical shows and this one is a winner. Emotional and real.

I watched the first three episodes of Run and I’m having trouble getting back in. I don’t find either of the main characters very appealing and there’s no chemistry between them, which may be the problem. And I’ve loved everything I’ve seen Merritt Weaver in.

Curious about this Lenox Hill medical show. I had dozens of surgeries at Lenox Hill Hospital in NYC in the 1970's. I'm sure this is based on many hospitals, right??? ETA : I just looked it up and it is the hospital I used to go to. Cool. They were the very best!! My oculoplastic surgeon performed surgeries on me there that were never tried before. I'll have to watch it.

It's medical, so some parts are hard to watch, but it's human and life and real.

I just started watching Liar on Prime. A woman claims she was raped by a surgeon on their first date, he claims it was consensual. It's good.
