I just finished Unbelievable over the weekend and it was really good. Although it's about rape - it's not overly graphic showing the rape, that part is in flashbacks and women talking about it, it's more about the police and how the investigate. Toni Collette & Merritt Wever are great as the 2 female detectives. AussieMeg have you watched this? I think you'd like it. Based on that, I now want to watch Run which also stars Merritt Wever We loved Unbelievable. Dh is liking Run but I am just meh to it.

Run was a disappointment. I was hoping for / expecting something better from Phoebe Waller-Bridge.
I enjoyed Unbelievable, and wished that the 2 female detectives could be in another show together!
Chris
This! Exactly how I felt about both.

If you liked Homeland I’d watch :
Fauda (Netflix) Jack Ryan (prime)
I saw Sons of Anarchy Season 1 was just put on Netflix. What an amazing show. I’d say it fits your genre.

We loved Unbelievable. Dh is liking Run but I am just meh to it. Run sounded good in theory, but seeing you and a few others here all didn't like it much...I'm not going to bother with it now.

I just added The Woods and Reckoning to my Netflix list. Both look like they’re part of the genre you enjoy. ETA: Oh—The Stranger is really good, too. Have just finished The Woods and thought it really good.

We are currently watching: Upright (an Australian show with Tim Minchin) - Well worth watching but I doubt it's available anywhere else yet. After Life (Ricky Gervais) Season 2 Money Heist season 2 We also recently finished Mind Hunter season 2 Bosch is my #1 favourite Cardinal is brilliant, if you haven't already seen that If you haven't watched any UK crime series yet, I highly recommend them. Particularly Happy Valley and Line of Duty. Bosch is one of my all time favourites - have just watched season 6 which is as good as the other 5. Season 4 of Cardinal kept our interest - this is a good second on my list.

Have just finished The Woods and thought it really good. I like to play scrabble, or crotchet while i am watching tv. I love the idea of The Woods but the English dub over voices sound awful to me. How are you watching? The subtitles don't match the english dub either.

I see Lenox Hill was mentioned by a pp. I just finished this--it's a documentary about doctors at Lenox Hill. Really well done, highly recommend.

It was the perfect length to get through in one night. I need another one now.

I just started watching Liar on Prime. A woman claims she was raped by a surgeon on their first date, he claims it was consensual. It's good. I really liked this. I thought it was well done. I just finished Pose on Netflix. I didn't think I would like it. It took me a few episodes to get into it. But then I was hooked. The second season was especially good!

Nadiya's Time to Eat is really enjoyable and upbeat. She won season six of the Great British Baking Show.

I watched The Woods over the weekend and almost gave up after episode 1, but I persevered. It wasn't worth it though. I didn't like it much and felt the whole explanation around the murdered and missing teens was completely ridiculous. Maybe it lost something in the translation...because I generally like scandi-noir, but I wouldn't recommend this one.

Have you seen Designated Survivor? It’s up that alley. A little farfetched but very entertaining. The last season is a bit scary. And some of it is so very possible. I would say a little far fetched as in that EVERYTHING that happens to him.. each episode is something over the top.. is a little far fetched. I don't want to list anything for spoilers.. but yeah. (I did love the show until Netflix took it over.. I liked that they wrapped it up nicely but felt like because of really no censoring of language/sex that it was over the top and didn't 'go' with the other seasons.)

If you liked Line of Duty and want a show set in Scotland, try The Replacement. It has Vicky McClure in it. The show is set in an architectural firm in Glasgow, and has a Single White Female vibe to it.

Girls from Ipanema! It is in Portugese so you may have to deal with subtitles, but it's so much fun. I'm at the beginning of season 2. It's set in Rio de Janeiro in the 50s and the clothes are wonderful.
ETA: Bossa Nova music too!

And it suddenly became more about social platforms then a political thriller. I mean I got teary during the real life testimonies and the various story lines, but I preferred to stick with the way the show was originally done.

I watched it when it was on TV, was so sad when it was cancelled. I just watched Jack Ryan (thought S2 was much better than S1), Sweet Magnolias (out of character show, for me, to watch but enjoyed it and will be devastated if there isn't a S2), then I watched Virgin River (again, out of character for me to watch but maybe Sweet Magnolias softened me up ) I started Ozark but, surprisingly, am having a tough time getting into it. I've heard Upload on Prime is good but I've been cautioned that it's maybe too soon for me to watch. I want to start watching Poldark in addition to a bunch already mentioned. Too much to watch, so little time.

We started watching The Valhalla Murders on Netflix last night and are liking it so far. It's set in Rekjavik and was originally filmed in Icelandic, but is available with English dubbing and/or subtitles - we watched with dubbing, as we weren't in the mood to read it all.
