I feel like I'm late to the game when it comes to anything smaller than 12x12 or 8.5x11... I have several 6x6 pads, and I use those primarily for mini-albums that I create, and sometimes when layering paper on a larger layout. But.... I'm less familiar with 6x8 paper pads, and I was curious how everyone utilizes this size... Are there albums that come in this size? I looked up some videos on You Tube for Travelers Notebooks, but they look smaller than these 6x8 pads by a lot. Soooo tell me how you utilize these paper pads... When I'm well again, I plan to buy a set at Tuesday Morning just to try it out. I just don't know how I would utilize them, so I need advice/helpful hints.
I watched a tutorial on You Tube to make a folio, but those utilize a pack of 12x12 cut down usually.
TIA everyone!!

Yes, a few brands sell 6x8 albums with various pocket configurations page protectors. They are popular for specific smaller projects like travel albums, December Daily, week in the Life. Scrapbook.com will start selling their own brand of these albums. 6x8 papers can be used for the full size layouts in those albums.

There's getting to be a lot of 6x8 albums out there now. I haven't done one yet, but plan to make a couple for gifts soon. I have a couple of the 6x8 paper pads that I picked up at a garage sale I think. Haven't decided what or how to use them yet. They may be a part of the albums I use. Maybe not. I think you could also use that size for card fronts too. Cut it in half, and cut a little off the other end, and it would fit nicely on a standard card. Just a thought.

I love 6 x8 albums. Simple Stories makes great binders, but there are others, too. I use 6x8 pads just like 6x6 pads for mini albums, cards and layouts. Allison Davis from Scrapbook Generations has some great classes for 12 x 12 layouts from 6x6 papers. After taking them, I looked at 6x6 pads in a whole new way.

Let’s try again! My links wouldn’t work... I’m a pocket scrapper who does my December Daily 6x8 each year. Here’s an example of a page.

If you look at the Scrapbook.com classes, Shimelle uses her 6x8's on a 12x12 layout. The class is titled Timeless Layout Techniques.

I like to use 6x8 paper pads for backing cut files. I find the smaller scale of the design on the papers (compared with their 12x12 counterparts) works better. I also love using them for layering on my 12x12 projects. It allows me to repeat the design elements without cutting into a fresh 12x12 sheet.

Think of them as 6x6, but better. They can be cut down into two 4x6 sheets or four 3x4 sheets, if you're a pocket scrapbooker.
As a cardmaker, I like them because I usually make A2 sized cards-- 4.25 x 5.5 inch base. That means most of my patterned paper layers are cut to 4 x 5.25. You can only get one of those from a 6x6 sheet, but you will get two from a 6x8. It's a much more efficient use of paper than a 6x6 pad for me.

I love them for card making and for layering under my photos. I think the size is much more useful than 6x6, since most of my photos are 4x6.

I like 6x8 more than 6x6 paper pads because they are easier to cut up for pocket pages.

They are great because you can mat 4x6 photos, which you can't do with the 6x6 size. I only scrap 12x12 but I use the smaller papers on my layouts. I like the smaller pattern size for some things. Sometimes I'll mix the 12x12 paper with the same paper in 6x6 or 6x8. It is good for making tags or pieces to ground my embellishments.

I don't think I have any 6x8 paper other than whatever came in a DD kit, but I would use it like I do 6x6, for card making. The smaller scale patterns work best when card making.

You can also scotch tape together two 6x8s and a 4x12 for a background page to use up your scraps.

So much more efficient for cardmaking. and also, the typical standard Traveler's Notebook is about 8" tall and 4-5" wide, depending on the type (there's smaller and larger but most people think of the roughly 4x8 size when talking about TNs). That's partly why there was a demand for 6x8 pads instead of 6x6 - they're tall enough to use on a TN page. I think they're a very versatile size and I like having small scale prints for cardmaking and smaller albums.

I use them for pocket pages if the paper is thick. BTW I was at my local Tuesday Morning yesterday, one which AFAIK is not among those due to close, and they had very little in the scrapbook aisle. I was so disappointed... Hopefully they are just behind in receiving shipments.

I either use them for strips, backing photos, accents (cut-a-parts, or use a circle die), for cards, banner on a layout, or tags either for a layout, or card.

I mostly use them for layering and card making. I Also like to use them in die cutting, especially for letters. The paper doesn’t always hold up well for shapes so I glue the paper to cardstock and then cut.
