It's one of my favorite smells! I have perfume that is grapefruit, but it sure doesn't last long. I LOVE grapefruit/citrus based perfumes!!! Which ones do you use? I had a favorite that was put out by Gap, but it was discontinued.

My latest ingredient is miso paste. I cook so much Asian food that I can't believe I hadn't used miso paste until this year. Now that I have discovered it, I have used it quite regularly in several different dishes. What does miso paste taste like?

My dh and I are trying to eat more healthy. So we have been doing a protein and then a veggie most nights for dinner. I like to roast the veggies. So we've been trying all mix of things. I did do a pan fried suger snap peas, with sesame seeds, that turned out really good. Trying to add new, different things so veggies arn't so boring. We also grilled walleye this wk in tin foil and lemon and that was really good. Usually we would deep fry it in shore lunch.

I love grapefruit. I had forgotten how much I like it until recently. It’s weirdly maybe my favorite fruit? I don’t really like that many fruits... I prefer veggies, to be honest.

I’ve been having a lot of Hello Fresh meals lately and have enjoyed recipes with Israeli couscous and also various recipes with ground lamb. I hadn’t cooked with either ingredient before and I love their versatility! Hmm, I happen to have Israeli couscous and ground lamb, any chance you can share a recipe? Let me have a look and I’ll get back to you!

I love grapefruit and I take a ton of meds. I don't eat grapefruit all of the time but once in a while I like to live dangerously.

Now that I have discovered it, I have used it quite regularly in several different dishes. Have you tried Chrissy Teigen’s Spicy Miso Pasta? I bought the ingredients but haven’t made it yet. It was getting amazing reviews on twitter when she first shared the recipe. Plus, it seems easy to make—which is a requirement for me because I generally hate cooking. Here’s the recipe link: cravingsbychrissyteigen.com/cravings/spicy-miso-spaghetti/

Serious question - does it really matter how it’s cut up? 😂 I’ve never had one that I can think of. I just want to walk around and peel it with my hands, rather than use a utensil. I would eat it the other way if it were presented to me at a restaurant or something. I am way, way, WAY too lazy for that! I get the little cups of grapefruit segments in a box of 12 from Costco and I eat one at lunch almost every day. So worth the cost to avoid the hassle. I do still own a couple of those little curved grapefruit segment cutting knives too, but I’m really glad I no longer need them.

That quote is under my name for some reason, but that’s not the grapefruit scent I use because I can’t stand patchouly either. I use the Hesperides.

Beetroot! I’ve grown some because DD said she liked it. Served it up and she says she only likes the pickled stuff in a tin (the smell/taste of that puts me off) so I tried it. Who knew - I like young fresh boiled beetroot. I need to try it roasted next.

I got a box of Blue Bunny mini swirls cookies and cream cones- so good! They are smaller than the drumstick brand cones so you don't feel guilty eating one and have a fudge center. Plus the cone is chocolate!

I looked at the recipe. Sounds really good. Are you making it with lavender you grow yourself? I'm not sure where I would get it around here -- not something I've seen at the farmer's market regularly. Wonder how it would taste made with rosemary? I have an abundance of that! I bought the lavender simple syrup on Amazon! I think you could make a variation using regular simple syrup and rosemary from your garden for sure. It'll be more "savory" but I bet it'd be good. I’ve been enjoying gin cocktails lately, as well, so thanks for sharing the link to the lavender syrup. Sounds amazing! I came upon this shop on Etsy the other day and ordered the Blackberry Gin Smash infusion kit. I can’t wait to try it out. InBooze cocktail infusion kits.

For me, it's grapefruit. Eaten like an orange by the segment, not cut in half and gouged out with a spoon.
I guess it can interfere with drug absorption? I don't take anything prescription, but wonder if it lowers the effect of my supplements.
ETA: Also, I've been using dijon mustard in cooking in a low-finesse way: squirting it in scrambled eggs, pan sauteed shrimp, coating chicken and fish with it...
Serious question - does it really matter how it’s cut up? 😂 I’ve never had one that I can think of. Never had grapefruit! On my list of top 5 foods.

Now that I have discovered it, I have used it quite regularly in several different dishes. What does miso paste taste like? It's a fermented paste (sounds gross, I know!) and it has a kind of salty and slightly tangy flavour...... As I found out recently, it's a good example of umami, one of the 5 types of tastes. Have you tried Chrissy Teigen’s Spicy Miso Pasta? No I haven't tried that one..... thanks for the link! It sounds really nice, I like the addition of sambal oelek. Let me know how it turns out if/when you make it. On Wednesday night I did an on-line cooking event. The meal that my team made was Ragu Noodles with Lemon Pangrattato, which had miso in it.

I add Miso Paste to bone broth, then throw in mushrooms, green onions and Udon or rice noodles and sometimes a poached egg for a quick 'Noodle Bowl'. Its relatively quick and filling when I don't want to cook, or am not very hungry. I prefer the Miso Paste that comes in a squeeze pouch.
