Michael Feldman.. ”NEW: Polling from @ppppolls for @protectourcare found that a bipartisan majority of voters: - Disapprove of Trump's lawsuit to destroy the ACA - Support Democrats' plans to improve coverage under the ACA More here 👇👇” From Public Policy Polling.. link”From: Katherine Patterson, Public Policy Polling To: Interested Parties Subject: New Poll: Democrats’ New Bill on Health Care Far More Popular With Voters Than Trump’s Lawsuit Date: June 23, 2020 A new Public Policy Polling survey finds that on the eve of the Trump administration’s anticipated filings in the Supreme Court on June 25 to overturn the Affordable Care Act in its entirety, large majorities of voters oppose the administration's lawsuit and have major concerns about its impact on American health care. In contrast, the survey shows that voters across the political spectrum strongly support provisions in the House Patient Protection and Affordable Care Enhancement Act. Only 27% of voters agree with President Trump that the ACA should be struck down. Voters, including large percentages of independents and Republicans, have major concerns about impacts of the lawsuit: 72% say that the elimination of protections that stop insurance companies from denying coverage or raising costs for 135 million Americans with pre-existing medical conditions is a major concern. This includes 61% of independents and a plurality (49%) of Republicans. 71% say that over 20 million Americans losing their health insurance coverage if the ACA is struck down is a major concern, including 68% of independents and a plurality (48%) of Republicans. 68% say allowing insurance companies to stop covering the costs of prescription drugs is a major concern, including 66% of independents and 51% of Republicans. Voters also show overwhelming, bipartisan support for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Enhancement Act -- legislation under consideration in Congress to improve health care in America. 81% support expanding Medicaid so more low and moderate-income Americans can qualify and get treated for coronavirus and other health care needs, including 81% of independents and 66% of Republicans. 81% support making health insurance more affordable by providing financial assistance to more moderate income people and families and increasing the amount of assistance, including 82% of independents and 70% of Republicans. 56% support ending short-term insurance plans, known as junk plans, including 58% of independents and 50% of Republicans. Voters also strongly support a key provision of the HEROES Act to help the uninsured have access to affordable health care. 76% support offering a special enrollment period to allow uninsured Americans to sign up for affordable coverage through the Affordable Care Act in response to the coronavirus pandemic. This includes 76% of independents and 59% of Republicans. Protecting the ACA is even more popular among seniors over the age of 65, with 61% saying it should not be struck down and just 19% supporting striking it down. These voters are especially concerned about the consequences of striking down the ACA. A large majority of seniors (78%) have major concerns about eliminating protections for people with pre-existing conditions and about 20 million Americans losing their health insurance coverage, and 70% have major concerns about allowing insurance companies to stop covering the costs of prescription drugs. Overall, President Trump’s actions on health care are unpopular with a majority of voters—52% disapprove of his job performance on health care, while just 39% approve. Fifty-two percent of voters trust the Democratic Congress on the issue of health care, while 41% trust President Trump. In contrast, 51% of voters trust former Vice President Joe Biden more on the issue of health care, while only 42% say they trust President Trump. In the presidential race, Biden is leading President Trump by 9 points (52-43). Public Policy Polling surveyed 1,013 national voters from June 19-20, 2020. The margin of error is +/- 3.1%. 50% of interviews for the survey were conducted by telephone and 50% by text message.“ The actual poll numbers are in the linked article above.

”Yesterday the president accused his predecessor of treason, accused Democrats of rigging the election, called an ex-employee “a lowlife who should be in jail,” said we’d have fewer COVID cases if we had fewer tests, posted a racially charged video, and misspelled “history.”

”The biggest, really the only truly significant part of this story is the one we still don’t have an answer to: what was so pressing, important and urgent that Barr did this clumsy, rush job to try to force Berman out? Election is only five months away. They knew there’d be...”
”2/ a storm. Apparently they thought it was worth it. Barr seems to have lied about Berman (claimed he’d resigned); he apparently lied to another US Attorney, Craig Carpentio, to wrapped him into the scheme; he appears to have lied again in claiming that Trump had fired Berman.”

”6/ The most obvious question is what was the point? This was at best counterproductive and didn’t achieve the desired effect. But remember Trump insisted on firing James Comey. That lead directly to the appointment of a special prosecutor whose investigation dominated his ...”
“7/ presidency for two years. It didn’t accomplish anything. One could have predicted that. Many of his staffers did predict it. (Apparently Jared encouraged him and egged him on.) Trump clearly wanted Berman gone but didn’t want his fingers on his ouster. He even hung ...”
”8/ Barr out to dry after Barr claimed in writing that Trump had fried Berman. The fact that it didn’t accomplish anything doesn’t require a lot of explanation. I suspect Trump wanted him gone, told Barr to make it happen and that’s just what Barr did.”

Good question and that is why I won’t be in a hurry to get a shot of this vaccine. I’ll wait awhile while the real clinical trial goes on meaning waiting for the results from the millions of people who will get vaccinated once it’s approved.

Think John Durham! Remember him? Bill Barr may spring an ‘October Surprise’ to save Trump’s re-election: columnist Published 1 day ago on June 22, 2020By Brad Reed Daily Beast columnist Michael Tomasky is warning Democrats to beware of Attorney General Bill Barr’s last-ditch effort to save President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign by springing last-minute indictments of former law enforcement officials involved in probing Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election. Specifically, Tomasky speculates that Barr is pushing for prosecutor John Durham to allege that Russia was actually working to get Hillary Clinton, not Trump, elected in 2016. “In light of the Berman ouster, which followed similar shenanigans to put ‘his people’ in place at the District of Columbia U.S. Attorney’s office and an exodus of top officials from Main Justice in Washington, people had better be paying renewed attention to what Durham might be up to,” Tomasky writes. “Democrats have to start drawing attention to this.” The good news, Tomasky argues, is that Barr’s credibility is already so weak thanks to a series of missteps that any investigation he presides over will already appear tainted to a large segment of voters. “So Democrats need to start saying right now that Durham is engaged in a phony investigation that is an attempt by Barr to rig the election,” he writes. “They need to say it and say it and say it. And then, when Durham issues his report or indictments, public opinion, or the important slice of it anyway, will be conditioned to believe that it’s all a scam.”** www.rawstory.com/2020/06/bill-barr-may-spring-an-october-surprise-to-save-trumps-re-election-columnist/?utm_source=&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=4827I was not sure I wanted to post this, but there appears to be more that dt may know, which would not be surprising because he is such buds with dis-barr-him!

Interesting that dt is talking about Durham at the same time as dis-barr-him! Our possible words of warning!! President Trump on Monday suggested without evidence that his predecessor, former President Obama, committed treason in connection with the investigation into the 2016 Trump campaign’s contacts with Russia. ** Trump signaled he was looking forward to the results of U.S. Attorney John Durham’s ongoing investigation into the origins of the Russia investigation, calling the Connecticut prosecutor “highly respected” and praising Attorney General William Barr. “I want to stay out of it because otherwise it’s going to look political,” Trump said. “Let’s see what they come up with.” ** A Justice Department inspector general report issued last year, however, found that the FBI was not driven by bias in its decision to open investigations into Trump campaign associates and that those probes had an adequate predicate. Still, the watchdog was deeply critical of the Justice Department’s actions in applying for a warrant to wiretap former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. Durham is said to be investigating at least one potential crime related to the Page warrant. ** Asked to address Trump’s remarks about Obama in May, Barr said he did not expect a criminal investigation of either Obama or former vice president Joe Biden, Trump’s 2020 Democratic challenger. “Based on the information I have today, I don’t expect Mr. Durham’s work will lead to a criminal investigation of either man,” Barr told reporters during a press conference. “Our concern over potential criminality is focused on others.”Barr told Fox News in an interview on Sunday that he expected developments in Durham’s probe sometime this summer. ** thehill.com/homenews/administration/503993-trump-says-obama-may-have-committed-treasonAnd who others does dis-barr-him think Durham is focused on... Surely he does know.!!

“The admin's stated reason that Barr can't testify before the House is that officials need to focus on fighting the pandemic, which is odd since the official actually in charge of fighting the pandemic, Dr. Fauci, is testifying before the House right now.”

Common..
”We must Protest in the streets AND we must Vote. It takes both to create real change.”
Yea good luck with the second part. The latest numbers I found show that of eligible voters, 51 M have not bothered to register to vote. In the 2016 presidential election 103M registers chose not to vote. Roughly 128M did vote. Traditionally during presidential elections the numbers that turn out the vote is higher than other election years.
Do the math, the combined percentage of Americans that are eligible to vote and those that are registered to vote who chose to do nothing is a little over 50%.

@freddie what kills me is that Trump seems to be focusing on the old and "slipping" reason for people not to vote for Biden. Seems that he wouldn't want the attention to be on those things since he has had his own (worse) problems in that area. But that is how he is, I guess.

Biden is too beloved by both sides and people know his record, so Trump's initial attempts fell flat. His "Biden is old and forgetful" routine will bite him in his fat ass since Biden seems physically fit and mentally aware than Trump.
