The longest I’ve gone is 5 hours. It was one of the blue surgical style masks. I find those a lot more comfortable than cloth masks. For quick trips to the grocery store I do wear a cloth mask. But, I do feel those get warmer and slip and slide around more easily.

I have worn it about an hour - but that's all that's been necessary for me. I'm work from home, and will be. So going into stores, which I rarely do, is my max.

I've gone 90+ minutes for a massage.
Otherwise probably about an hour.
I dont really mind them, except they do get hot

If I go back to work in August (school) it’ll be all day. And I’ll do it because it’s what’s necessary. my plan is to go outside during passing period and get some fresh air.

Do you mean the inconvenience is a small price to pay or does it really not *feel* bad? For me it really does not feel bad. The longest I've worn one was 3 hours - most of the time it is for under an hour. We bought a few different styles and found everyone likes something different. I prefer a more fitted cotton cloth mask with adjustable nose piece.

I can go about an hour, probably (never tried any longer than that) but I get a weird dizziness and my heart starts pounding. I just have to stand in one spot and try to calm down when that happens. Usually I go to a place where there's no people and hold my mask out so I can breathe some regular air for a few seconds. When I get my shopping done and get back to my car I'm sweating all over and almost nauseous. Pretty sure it's all psychological but I can't really control it.

I wear one when I’m getting groceries or doing errands, but I really dislike it. I get hot and a bit lightheaded, and every mask I’ve tried seems to creep up into my eyes.

The longest I’ve worn mine was around 2 1/2 hrs when I had my hair done and it didn’t bother me. Always feels good to remove it though!

9+ hours generally if I’m working a 10.5 hour shift. My hospital is still rationing us to just one mask per shift (and we’re running out of surgical gowns too, I found out yesterday - we could soon be rationing surgery again as well ). I wear a mask as long as necessary out in public, but it usually takes me less than an hour to shop and stuff. I too have had many years of practice wearing them, but I also understand that they can be uncomfortable and claustrophobic.

The longest I've worn one is about 30 minutes, but that is because that is all it takes for me to go into a store and shop. I haven't had to wear it longer, but I know I can if I had to. I don't find them uncomfortable. I even have asthma. I do sometimes get a little warm, depending on the store. I haven't been to a salon or any kind of personal service appointment yet.

About 30 minutes. I have about 6 different styles and none are that comfortable. I need to find comfortable ones before I go back to school in a month and a half. I will need to be doing a lot of talking in them.

I feel like I"m getting more used to having one on and can last longer. Once I go back to school, I have to be able to wear it all day so I'll have to make it work.

I’ve gotten used to mine, but I definitely have a favourite. At the beginning I was wearing one that was too big for me and it was obstructing my vision and fogging my glasses. Now I don’t even notice it anymore except my ears get tired after a couple of hours. I feel it’s such a little thing to ask of everyone. Local experts around me are still saying that they probably don’t do that much good, but they haven’t offered up any other suggestions so I’m going with what the other experts are saying.

I had to wear one outside for 4 hours. I was fine. I could have gone longer but didn't need to.

It took me a while, but I have my system down now. I was having trouble with my glasses fogging, so this week I bought some "ear savers" from Amazon to attach to my straps. That really creates a good seal in the mask, so I felt a bit claustrophobic today when I tested it out while grocery shopping. But I'm sure I will adjust, just like I did when I first started wearing masks. I'm wearing the cloth kind though.

I wear my mask for my entire 12+ hour shift except for eating. I am a Registered Nurse. We are given one disposable mask to wear for the entire shift. If an ear loop breaks, you put your scrapping skills to work with tape and staples. I personally hate the disposable masks. Depending on the brand, some are scratchy, some have a horrible odor, some ear loops are too tight , etc......... I prefer the cloth ones I sew, but we are not allowed to wear those at work.

I have emphysema and about 20 minutes is all I can take. At that point, I'm straining to get enough oxygen into my body and I'm feeling a bit dizzy. I haven't been to a retail store since late Feb. I order our groceries online and my husband picks them up without leaving the car. Once every two weeks, I go to our local grange for fresh produce, masked, with social distancing. That takes my 20-minute tolerance of mask-wearing.

I can go about 20 minutes. I completely understand and agree with wearing masks. I wear them. However I feel panicky as breath from my nose and mouth circulates into the fabric. Im confused by people who say "it's no big deal" though. I feel so uncomfortable but mostly so paniky and claustrophobic. If I have to shop longer, I always find an ailse where no one is or leave my cart to go outside to pull my mask down for a moment. Do you mean the inconvenience is a small price to pay or does it really not *feel* bad? Hugs. I do understand that claustrophobic feeling. I've been getting better each time I have to wear it. It also seems to depend upon how hot I'm getting. I usually take mine down and put it up outside my car. I've not had to go more than maybe an hour or 1.5 hours. By the end of that, I was so ready to be out and done. I'm sorry you have to deal with those feelings. I would try to the lighter weight ones (surgical) and see if that helps. I almost bought some today but wanted to run it by DH first. I'll get some next time I'm out.

Have you tried different masks? I have a few different ones for each of us and I find some are a lot more comfortable for me than others! I believe there was a post on here where people mentioned an online company that had masks which were a lot more comfy, but I am blanking on the name. Maybe someone remembers and can post? This! I had a lovely pea send me a couple of masks that were great, but my glasses would fog up. It's taken me trying 3 different masks from etsy makers/sellers to find my go-to. I've since ordered 3 more of that style, and have recommended them to several friends, two of whom have also ordered. If you haven't tried different vendor's styles, I'd give that a go. Good luck! ETA: I wore mine the other day for a 2 hour + beach walk with 3 other friends (my first outing with more than one other person). They were all complaining and readjusting their masks. I was not. That's about the longest I have worn one so far. If you are willing to share the shop—I wear glasses and have been sewing my own masks, but would like to lay in a supply for the fall, when I will need them for work.

Eight hours, I’m a nurse. I get that some people have anxiety and panic with a mask though. Have you tried the disposable surgical masks? I heard from a lady yesterday that the disposable masks are easier to breath in. I am going to see if my girls can breath easier in those, for when they have to wear them all day at school. I find cloth masks hard to breath in. I am somewhat claustrophobic as I get older.

I've shopped for 50 minutes at a long grocery run. I keep my glasses in the car whenever I wear one because I can't get them to not fog up.
I am seriously grateful to have the choice to not have to work outside the home and have to wear one.

I’m a pediatrician working 9 hour days. I wear an N95 covered with either a surgical mask or a cloth mask ( usually a cloth mask because the kids like them better, even though they’re less comfortable for me). I take it off for an hour at lunch, but other than that, I wear the masks continuously. It doesn’t really bother me anymore, although I am pregnant right now and have found that the N95 does make my nausea worse, but I can generally ignore it. If you’re just wearing a mask to go shopping, surgical masks are much more comfortable than cloth masks, and surgical masks seem pretty readily available now ( I know they have packs of 50 surgical masks at my Sams club).

I wear mine at work for 11-12 hours a day. It has taken some time to get used to it, but it doesn't bother me now as much as it did a couple months ago. I have massive claustrophobia, so I get what you're saying.

I’ve had to wear a mask exactly once, for an emergent doctor’s appt, and it was a horrible experience. It was an N95 with fabric mask over it. I have fainted mostly due to humidity before, I think that was part of my issue. I would never not wear one, but it’s not “no big deal” to me and will lead to me not going out unless absolutely necessary when things start to safely reopen. (I’m in Texas so we haven’t hit that goalpost yet)
On the other hand, DH wears an N95 w/ fabric mask during his entire 8+ hour shift, with the exception of a 20 minute lunch break which he takes outside. Even going to the restroom, even sitting in the rehab office. And he has no issues with it whatsoever, including when physically working with and moving his rehab patients.

I’ve only done an hour or so for grocery shopping. I’m ok, but if it’s warm wearing one is a lot worse. I will be wearing one all day in school so I really should start trying to extend my time wearing.

I can wear them for a long time. Sometimes I feel panicky in it. Usually at the grocery store. I take a few deep breaths and remind myself that it’s just a cotton mask with sharks or dr suess creatures on it, not a plastic bag over my head. I remind myself that I actually can breathe just fine.
I have found that if the mask smells nice it makes wearing it enjoyable. Today my shark mask was right out of the dryer, and it smelled wonderful. 😄 I’ve also found that if I put a mint or mint gum in my mouth right before I put it on I don’t get that hot suffocating feeling.
