Kurt Eichenwald.... ”So the brits say it’s true, Aussies say it’s true, our pentagon says it’s true - so when will @gop stop worrying about politics & start protecting our troops! Because, to keep up his kowtowing, Trump might do more to Putin other than sell him the bullets to kill our troops with.” GOP will not stop it. They are complicit. You know the judges............ I would not doubt they are not praying for RBG's good health!

You know the judges............ I would not doubt they are not praying for RBG's good health! Well he and his cronies have it on the tip of their tongues. Trump hoping for Supreme Court vacancy as way to boost a flagging campaignBy Kevin Liptak, CNN Updated 8:31 AM ET, Tue June 30, 2020 (CNN)As the Supreme Court hands his administration successive defeats at the same time his political standing craters, President Donald Trump has begun to raise both publicly and privately the potential boon another nomination to the panel this year might provide.** The President has long cast a potential third Supreme Court nomination as rationale for his reelection. But as the court's term ends, Trump has begun musing at how a more immediate vacancy may help improve his weakened political standing in the months before November's election.** An election-year Supreme Court vacancy would electrify the still-nascent presidential campaign, with Democrats likely insisting Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell adhere to the same terms he established in 2016, when he prevented Merrick Garland, then-President Barack Obama's nominee to replace the late Antonin Scalia, from being considered, saying whomever was elected should be responsible for filling the opening. McConnell said in February that, despite his position four years ago, the GOP-led Senate would fill a vacancy this year, arguing the situation is different now because because the Senate and the White House are controlled by the same party ** more at link: www.cnn.com/2020/06/30/politics/trump-supreme-court-campaign-boost/index.html

This goes from bad to worse. Josh Lederman ”JUST IN - @presssec says neither Trump nor Pence were briefed on the "alleged Russian bounty intelligence" first reported by NYT“ ”This raises the obvious and very serious question: The US had intelligence that Russia was paying militants to kill US & allied troops, and officials decided NOT to tell the president or VP about it?” Raise your had if you believe our intelligence guys didn’t think this was important enough to tell the president or Vice President. This fits in the typical trump responses of “I don’t know that person” or “I don’t remember” or “I know nothing about that”. He’s the commander in Chief why the fuck was he not briefed? And what the fuck is he doing about it now that he & everyone else knows? Has he condemned Putin? Has he asked for a full investigation? Nah, he’s ignored it and claimed the NYT is wrong. How any American can support this is mind boggling. MIND BOGGLING! So here’s the gist of it: Our troops who protect us reportedly have bounties on them and the commander in Chief is whining because his loan officer ( Putin ) who brokered the loans from Russian oligarchs so Trump wouldn’t go Bankrupt yet again, is not invited to his party ( G7) ? Anyone who accepts this is complicit in the treason against our nation & our troops.

Marco Rubio’s spin..
”Ironically many of those now politicizing the recent report in the NYT questioned, disputed &/or downplayed indisputable proof that #Soleimani had a long track record of targeting & killing American troops. They pick & choose what to believe based on partisan politics.”

Kyle Griffin... ”Breaking via NYT: United States intelligence officers and Special Operations forces in Afghanistan alerted their superiors as early as January to a suspected Russian plot to pay bounties to the Taliban to kill American troops in Afghanistan.” ”Two officials said the information about the bounty hunting was "well-known" among the intel community in Afghanistan, including the CIA's chief of station and other top officials there, like the military commandos hunting the Taliban. The info was distributed in intel reports.” It would appear everyone knew about this bounty thing except BunkerBoy and his mini me sidekick. If you believe BunkerBoy that is. Trump needs to keep polishing Putin's "whatever" though. Cuz daddy might have something on him. Or might be bribing him. Trump's own interests trump those of the nation or the troops. Why else would he not be laying down the law on Russia for this abominable behavior toward our troops? I’ve been thinking about the picture of President Obama talking to Putin. Isn’t this the one that’s the last time they met just before the elections? Where President Obama supposedly told Putin we know what you’re doing so cut it out? Regardless you’ll never see a picture like this with trump and Putin or any foreign leader for that matter. The reason trump can’t do face to face confrontation on any subject let alone the security of this country and its citizens It’s just not in his DNA. He waits until he’s not around them and then attacks from afar. That’s ok if you are a failed businessman, but it’s not ok if you are the President of the United States

Trump WH omitted in its briefing to GOP lawmakers as it downplayed intel as murky/contested.“

BREAKING NEWS!! President Trump has now been briefed on intelligence regarding Russian bounties on coalition forces in Afghanistan, White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said Tuesday.McEnany confirmed during a press briefing that Trump had been briefed on the matter, but emphasized that there is still not a “consensus” in the intelligence community regarding the information. “The president has been briefed on what is unfortunately in the public domain because of The New York Times,” she told reporters. “But that does not change the fact that there is no consensus on this intelligence that still has yet to be verified.”** thehill.com/homenews/administration/505293-white-house-says-trump-has-now-been-briefed-on-russian-bounty-intelOh yes there is verification!

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Tuesday said he spoke with the Taliban’s chief negotiator telling him that the U.S. expects the group “not to attack Americans,” following reports that Russia paid the Taliban bounties to kill U.S. soldiers.

Interesting that the GOP was not told about the money on Monday and DNI Ratcliffe lied to them also!! The Trump administration on Monday briefed several GOP lawmakers on intelligence suggesting Russia paid Taliban-linked militants to target US troops in Afghanistan, but did not tell the House Republicans that US officials had intercepted electronic data showing large financial transfers from a bank account controlled by Russia's military intelligence agency (the GRU) to a Taliban-linked account, the New York Times reported. The intercepted data on the financial transfers is corroborated by intelligence gleaned from interrogations of captured Afghan militants and criminals, the Times said, and is among the most significant reported findings regarding the alleged Russian plot so far. Monday's White House briefing for the GOP lawmakers was primarily conducted by Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows, and national security adviser Robert C. O'Brien. The briefing included information supporting the conclusion that Russia ran the bounty operation, as well as information that undermined it. ** Two people familiar with the meeting told the Times that the briefing seemed designed to underscore that the intelligence was not "clear cut." It's unclear why the administration did not tell the lawmakers about the financial evidence reportedly intercepted by US officials. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Insider. The Office of the Director of National Intelligence when contacted by Insider pointed to a statement from Ratcliffe on Monday saying "we are still investigating the alleged intelligence." ** In January 2020, Trump ordered a drone strike that killed a top Iranian general and pushed the US and Iran to the brink of war. The Trump administration said the strike was due to imminent threats on US forces in the Middle East, but hasn't provided specific evidence to back-up this assertion. Along these lines, many in Washington have been up in arms that Trump was reportedly briefed on intelligence pointing to a Russian plot to harm US troops, but did nothing in response. And congressional Democrats have been pushing for a full briefing on the matter the US intelligence community. "I find it inexplicable in light of these very public allegations that the president hasn't come before the country and assured the American people that he will get to the bottom of whether Russia is putting bounties on American troops and that he will do everything in his power to make sure that we protect American troops," Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff, chairman of the House Intelligence Committee, said on Tuesday. ** more at link: www.businessinsider.com/us-officials-discovered-russian-payments-taliban-to-kill-us-troops-2020-6

”NSA O’Brien said even though Trump wasn’t briefed on the Russian bounty intelligence, the CIA put the info out to US & coalition forces. So there was a threat to US forces, originating from the Russians, substantial enough to alert them — but commander in chief wasn’t briefed.”

Too bad! ohhhh, but you're wrong! he said he DOES live in New York, which is why his lawyers withdrew their objection to a rape case against him. (because their objection was that the lawsuit couldn't be filed against him where it was.) I know I read that headline earlier today, I think.

Not all the GOP are happy with the initial briefing!! Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) said on Wednesday that after reading classified intelligence he believes the Trump administration should brief the Senate on reports that Russians offered bounties to Taliban-linked fighters to target U.S. troops in Afghanistan. Toomey in a statement said he had read documents made available behind closed doors but that they had raised more questions for him.“I have reviewed the classified information regarding bounties, upon which recent news reports are based. This information raises many questions and administration officials should come before the Senate and provide a classified briefing and answer questions from all members,” Toomey said. “If it is concluded that Russia offered bounties to murder American soldiers, a firm American response is required in short order,” he added. The administration has made intelligence reports available for senators in the sensitive compartmented information facility. ** more at link: thehill.com/homenews/senate/505537-gop-senator-calls-for-russian-bounties-briefing-after-reviewing-intelligence
