Lately I've been modifying some cut files in Silhouette and have come across a point editing issue I can't seem to solve. When I have a line I want to extend, it's easy to grab the point and extend it, but there doesn't seem to be a way to ensure it stays straight. In Illustrator, you can press shift while you're moving a point to ensure it stays at a 45/90 degree angle but that doesn't work in Silhouette. I did try googling this but couldn't find it addressed specifically. (I guess I could always turn on the "snap to grid" feature or draw a guide line, but it seems that there should be a quicker way.) If anyone knows how to do this, I'd love to learn the secret!

I use the snap to grid feature. If I’m being really precise, I’ll increase the ruler measurements and move the image around so that it lines up with a grid line. Silhouette is always adding new features—email them your suggestions!

Sometimes I find I need to draw a straight line over the part I am wanting to extend as a guide. What I mean is: (1) Draw a line longer than the final extension will be, (2) align it with the line in the design I want to extend, (3) use this line as a guide. I make the guideline a different color and then just delete it when I am done.
You can also just create the new line you need. Then make it a compound path with your design. Then break path and connect points as needed.
