It's just the 2 of us at home usually anyway but Dh has gone out this morning and won't be back until after lunch and it feels really weird! I don't know what to do with myself! Apart from the odd hour here and there we've been pretty much together 24/7 since March 23rd as we're both self employed in industries that aren't yet permitted to go back to work. Thank goodness we still like each other after all these years So...garden centre trip maybe? Or just do some knitting or...? Anyway, I just thought I'd share that with you all ETA - 2pm, he's back It made a nice change! I had a long shower, watched some mid morning tv, did a bit of knitting, 2 cups of tea, had lunch tout seule...so nothing too exciting but I enjoyed it nonetheless

I love having my husband at home but I really miss having the house to myself! I want to blast loud music, listen to a podcast or get my sewing machine out and sew for hours but I don't want to disturb his work.
Enjoy your alone time.

It's odd - Dh isn't working at home, just doing diy, gardening etc so I can do whatever I want, loud music included but it just feels different I will enjoy it

I would imagine it would be a bit strange after all this time, hope you enjoy your me time. I look forward to having some eventually. Although DH hasn't been hear 24/7 as such as he has been popping into the office but both DD's have been here. Roll on September DD1 will be back at Uni and DD2 will be out all day at college who are making plans to re-opening with social distancing in place as things stand at the moment but that might still change for all we know. I've liked having them both here but..... at times.............. I just wish for 5 minutes peace!

I just wish for 5 minutes peace! I can imagine Several friends have said similarly - as much as you love them and enjoy their company, you can have too much of a good thing I know DD is looking forward to her 3 year old going back to nursery in a fortnight

I’d make the most of the peace and quiet! I’ve been in lockdown 24/7 with my DH since the middle of March and he’s driving me crazy! I’m so pleased my house has 3 floors so I can sort of escape for a while!

My husband's still being going to work everyday throughout all this from day one. I admit I've been a bit jealous of those who've all been home together. BUT... be careful what you wish for, right? If I had him home, I'd probably be wishing him out the door instead!

I half expected that we'd get a little bit fed up with each other at times but thankfully we really had very few 'moments' 14 weeks is a long stretch when for a lot of that time neither of us could even do our own thing - see friends, go to Pilates class etc until recent weeks. It's been good test

My dd's decided to live with their dad a couple of months ago so I'm living alone for the first time in my life ... I'm freaking loving it My house has never been cleaner, I can watch what I want on TV, and I don't have to cook every night Freedom is good (but I do miss my dd's)

DH company decided he's WFH forever (only going in once in a while), he doesn't have a cubicle in the building anymore so they must be serious... It's rendered my SAHM status as obsolete (and for the first time in 14 years all the kids were in school all day...) of course finding a job right now isn't in the cards either.
I am trying to balance my wanting to listen to my music at an unreasonable volume (while I clean) with his suddenly being on a conference call on speaker phone. Or wanting to do fun stuff with the kids but feeling bad because he's "working."
It's strange new world...

I am an introvert going nuts because I have had NO downtime just for me in months. Between teens and DH someone is always home with me and wanting something. The rule is supposed to be if my office door is shut then I am off limits, but that has not been working for us. Even DH knocks and comes in now just to see what I am doing. Sigh. And my e-mails/texts/phone calls have really ramped up, so I am on emotional overload with constant people even in the middle of being isolated. LOL. I'm a Pastor's wife, so I can't really just go off the grid. Plus I have some lovely quiet spots in the house set up so I can just sit and read and enjoy the outside/birds. DH has taken them all over. I think I made them TOO comfy and quiet.

I am so jealous! That is my DREAM. House to myself for a few hours, even better the day. DH takes DS somewhere, I get to veg, clean, watch what I want, take a nap, etc... Hope you enjoy the time!

Next time you find having the house to yourself and don't know what to do, here's a suggestion: linkYou're welcome.

I'll have to remember that! @bdhardy - time for a new sign for your office door (maybe red, amber and green for the kids spending on the urgency of needing you) and a little word with Dh that you 'require' one of your little reading spots back...and mean it! He probably doesn't even realise but it's not too much to ask
