Heading out to two of our stores today. Both managers said the delivery truck brought a small load. Eighty-nine boxes.

May you find treasures!
I stopped at one yesterday. First of all, there were no shopping carts available. There were only a few customers in the store. As I walked through the store, I saw shopping carts in many of the aisles. They had the more recent delivery items, I guess, although at least one cart had items that were being clearanced. There was room on the shelves. The employees appear to be slow to put product where it belongs.
I left empty handed.

I saw lots of Tim Holtz stuff. Must have missed you today. The tags all had red on them, so I wondered if they were originally supposed to be for a Sunday sale. I walked out empty handed.

I made one final stop to my store that's closing. They were down to about 10 paper pads and the rest was mostly stamps. I bought MH Sunny Days cardstock stickers and a paper pad and a MH sticker book. My next trip to TM will involve a 45 minute drive.

I went to TM in Vista, CA today. It was kind of barebones, no one hardly in the store, but looking at the tags I don't think anything was newer than early May. I got the Shimelle Starshine 6x6, and one 6x6 by AC that says, "Everyday." I mostly got the Everyday for the honeycomb paper. Not sure how it happened, but I am obsessed with bees of late. Anyway, I was the only other person in the store except for one lady who asked me if TM carried Nuvo drops. Bless her heart! I told her scrapbook.com.

Per a local manager, stores in our area finally got a truck after a 2.5 week hiatus. It arrived later in the week than usual with ~25% of the average number of total boxes, including very little craft stuff (Note the handful of "new" items I saw on the relatively empty shelves were repeat Thickers & WRMK tools). I also left empty-handed. The manager indicated another truck is expected on the same day next week, but is uncertain its size. Hoping for some new inventory soon!

I found 2 sets of alphas (silver puffies and a thickers with 2 different color ways) for Field Trip...this was the line I was hoping to see before lockdown. Each sticker set was $1.99...thickers haven't been that low in a while and a pink paislee set that I bought of the smaller puffy alphas were $2.99 when I bought them, so those were lower than normal, too. LOTS of AC branded stuff is showing up at Dollar Tree...so it's making me wonder if they're doing a massive clear out and okaying lower prices to move merchandise. I got a few packs of Minc PL branded card sets at Dollar Tree today and found some WeR card sets at another location that were sports themed.
At any rate, I'm hoping that more from Field Trip will trickle in. My stores are really hard to gauge. The store that usually got the least product was ramping up their inventory before shutdown and now they get all the new stuff first. Then 2 other stores across town get that stuff the next week and lastly, my closest store gets it the week after that.
I was told that at the start of lockdown the TM buyer quit and they hired someone new recently...so there was a gap of no buying during the transition while lockdown was underway...the new person doesn't sound to have a craft background but it's all stuff slated for July, so if the stuff marked 0720 sucks, blame the new guy!! As of now, I've only seen stuff marked for March and April. We're on the side of the country that is closing up the warehouse, so my biggest worry is that we won't see the new stuff (probably all going to Dallas) while they clear out and shutdown the Arizona location. We missed out on a lot of good stuff the summer the Arizona warehouse opened so I wouldn't be surprised.

I went to my closest and favorite location today. They had stuff, but it was really slim compared to what it usually is, and as far as I could tell, there was nothing new. I left with nothing.

I visited our second store in town and the pegs are down to just a few items on each peg. The tops of the displays that normally have the larger items are empty. Sad. This week was a bust. Manager from one store said he was told that it would be well into August before things are back to normal.

Now if they were to both get with modern times and consider their customers needs during a pandemic, and have an in store pick up system then I’d consider the hour drive. And no, don’t tell me ‘they can’t’ because they don’t know what will be on the truck, that’s simply a BS excuse. They just need an on-site scan in scan out system. And no, it can’t be *that* expensive if my teeny one person LSS can do it a big store like TM could do it. They just don’t want to.

They get thousands of different items each month. They have over 700 stores that get different product-will be 500 soon. It would be a nightmare. They couldn't get a call in inventory correct. No way could they do a on-line order correct. It would be expensive to switch over to and they seem to do well the way it is right now. I don't see them switching for the pandemic. I worked in a catalog department in high school and college and the manpower needed to get one shirt to a customer was expensive. Now if they had a few warehouses where they stored the product, it could maybe work, but it doesn't fit their business model of buy cheap and sell as quickly as possible for slightly more.

It has nothing to do with anything at the warehouse, or anything on the truck. It’s on site scan in the door, scan out the door. I used to do it when I worked at a small chain craft store. It takes seconds when unboxing and they are already scanning it at the register. Only issue is theft. Like I said it can’t be that expensive or that hard if a one person shop could do it. I know my LSS owner is not rolling in money so it’s not that expensive. They just do not want to. They want to proceed to open a box and dump it on the shelf and hope they have enough unbroken stock to sell to make a profit. So I won’t be driving an hour to a store that I may or may not find something to buy. It’s just not worth the effort or the gas to do so.

I agree that it’s not worth driving an hour to any TM in the hope of finding enough to make it worth the trip. For high risk folks, it’s even less appealing.
Regardless of the cost, even assuming it is minimal, Tuesday Morning is a company going through bankruptcy and reorganization. I just can’t see them spending the money, however small it may be, because multiplied by 500 or so stores, the expense could still add up to a prohibitive cost for them in their current situation. I don’t have any idea what percentage of their customers are high risk, but they probably have enough customers who are willing to shop in person in their stores, without the high risk customers.
They weren’t getting trucks, but the shelves were being emptied by someone, presumably by customers who had more time to browse till they found some things worth buying. Or maybe the eBayers. At any rate, they’ve been selling their stuff, even without my help or others who are high risk.

I wasn't planning to stop by mine, but happened to be driving by after an appointment, so I went in. The craft aisle was sparse, but they had clearly gotten in some new items. There was quite a bit of Shimelle Sparkle City (no sign of Field Trip) and Maggie Holmes Happy Days. I got some fun Thickers I hadn't seen before.
ETA: Dates on price stickers were March and April, when our stores were closed.

You used to be able to call and see if something was in stock, but that was very unreliable too.

We are out of town and there is a Tuesday Morning here. I popped in and while it was a very clean and tidy craft aisle, it was super small and they had absolutely nothing new. I did snag a DCWV Graduation ephemera pack. I found the pad a few months back and have been using it for some grad photos. This was perfect timing to find this. My kids’ school colors were blue and gold so this line is perfect.

And no, it can’t be *that* expensive if my teeny one person LSS can do it a big store like TM could do it. They just don’t want to. One of my stores lost 20 boxes of crafts to another store a few weeks ago and they don't know until the truck shows up without it...it ended up rerouted at the last minute. Just because something might say it's heading to a store doesn't mean they'll actually receive it. I hunted for a Little B washi for weeks a few years ago and the 800 number said it was going to one particular store...it ended up showing up at a completely different one that never said it was in stock when I called the 800 number about it. It could be that they don't want people getting upset if stuff is supposed to show up but doesn't. Not to say I don't understand your frustration, but it's probably easier for a LSS with one store worth of inventory to do something like that, just like it's easier for a large chain to do it because there is a lot of sale potential on either end of the spectrum. TM is a bare bones outfit, so it's probably not a cost they want to take on (and honestly, I doubt most staff members would even know what to look for given how tiny craft stuff is and that they don't have a set planogram location in which to locate it).
It would be a lot easier to know what was coming, for sure. I drive clear across town once a week on the off chance the store up there (there are 2, but 1 has a staff full of crafters so I don't even bother going...they won't put stuff out until the staff has had a chance to shop it first most of the time) gets things that the other stores don't and it's been a bust most of this year so I stopped going even before lockdown. I t used to be that's where I found all the best stuff. I've gone the last 2 weeks and it's been a disappointment both times...I don't like wasting a 45-60 minute rt drive and if not for the 2 good items I found at another location with the same truck day, I wouldn't have gone this past week. I really hoped that maybe a couple of different pieces could have trickled in.

The manager at one of my stores chats to me about the changes when I ask her about inventory. That's how I knew they were having issues getting new product right when everything opened up again...the drivers that were without work during shutdown all went to Amazon and other businesses that were still functioning and didn't want to return when TM opened again (maybe there was worry about longevity with the BK filing??).

Yes, things changed a few years ago with the stickers. One of our managers hates it. It just takes that extra step and I think a lot of employees are just trying to get stuff out as fast as possible. I really hate it when they just throw the new stuff on the shelves and don't even put it on a peg. All three of our mangers are really friendly and do share their opinions on how things are done. I find it interesting that even the managers are told different things from corporate. Makes you wonder what is really happening. One of the managers did say that they couldn't get drivers. Can't blame them for going to another company. I imagine that they don't get great benefits from TM either. I do hope things are more back to normal soon. It is sad to wander the aisle and see very old product. Had to laugh because I found several things from a few years ago on the pegs. I think they had enough time to move around the shelving and found stuff that had fallen under it. This stuff should have been clearanced at least last year.

We still have two good stores in town. The one that is 3 minutes away is closing though.
We haven't had a lot of new stuff since the shut down. I have done a little more online shopping as well.

Today was a better day at TM. One of my stores had one cart out in the aisles. There were quite a few crochet kits of animals and food (kind of odd). Most of the basket was filled with markers and pens. There was also a fair amount of new (to TM) Thickers. I found some Genius, Little Explorer (phrases) both blue and pink, Bright Lights, Summertime and some older Happy Thoughts that will match some designer papers I found at JoAnn's. I also got some Bo Bunny gold stencil paste and a box of Sparkle City washi tape.
My LSS was having a 4th of July FB sale and they post some new product online. I got the dragon stamps/dies from the newer Photo Play line.
Our stickers on all of the craft product were labeled 3/20 and 4/20. They don't seem to have new stuff for us yet.

I went to my local TM as it’s been a couple weeks. There was much less product, they moved a ton to the clearance. But the last time I was there they had tons of paper pads, but that had been wiped out. I think they had some new Bo Bunny, a couple Echo Park and Jen Hadfield, but didn’t see anything else.
Didn’t stop me from buying anything-lol. Got 2 Thickers, those were new. 3 bottles of watercolor inks 2 paper packs-Illustrate Faith She Blooms & Webster’s Pages Color Crush Pink Paislee Sweet Freedom washi tape Doilies Small haul, but still some good stuff for me.
ETA they also had some Tim Holtz gumdrops.

We have 2 TM in my town but the one closest to me is closing. My husband went the other day & said the majority of the scrap supplies were gone - ugh so sad this one is closing!! At least I have others that are not too far away. I feel for those of you where they are over an hour away!!

I went to the one that is closing. Crafts were 30% off and they had new craft product. New paper pads, letters, and some stickers. One of the employees said they are trying to clear out an entire warehouse so they are still getting mini shipments of 59 boxes (seemed like pretty specific number). Gott the jig board for less than 10 bucks. I didn't need it, but well, we all know how that goes.

I went to the Roseville MN one today. They said that one is not closing, so fingers crossed.
I got the Crate Paper "Hooray!" 12x12 stack Vicki Boutin Mixed Media 6x8 pad K&Co album in burlap with white roses printed on it, 12x12 for 4.99
I was happy to find the Crate Paper stack, as I bought the Thickers last year.
