We have completely redone the exterior of our home - how did you enable your patio lighting with Alexa? We bought dimmable LED cafe lights and also a WiFi/ALEXA enabled dimmer they plug in to. We can tell Alexa what percentage to turn them to or do it in our phone. It’s nice when we carry everything in and want to turn them off without going back outside. Everybody’s home projects sound great! I wish we had an outdoor pool or hot tub-maybe one day!

DH made a futon (designed, and built from raw lumber all by himself) for our office and we moved stuff around, cleaned some stuff out, and organized stuff so we now have a hard working office/guest room. It's awesome! Just have to keep it picked up and we have a room ready for guests. Our first ones are coming this weekend to test it out for us.

We had the outside of our house painted. We are replacing our deck. Oh, and we are finally finishing a bathroom remodel that has been slow going over the last few years.

Yes, redid our back screened in porch with new furniture and rugs. New gardens in the front and back and a tree down over the driveway.

My tv room was transformed from a collection of furniture the dog had abused as a puppy to a modern boho media room. I love it so much.

We had our kitchen, family room and back hallway painted, after my husband replaced all the trim with the farmhouse style wide style.

I converted my DD's room to my office. I moved the treadmill in there and DH bought me an overstuffed chair for my birthday. I haven't really transitioned to being up there, as I'm used to being in the middle of everything downstairs, but I'll use it this fall, especially if I'm teaching from home again.

We put in new flooring in the front entry, dining, kitchen, and hallway of our cabin shortly before the pandemic began. When we knew we were going to SAH there, we got supplies to paint and put in a new rug under the table. I also made a point to go through some things to either throw out or donate. It looks a lot better.

My kids moved into their own place about two years ago, so many areas were redone already. I did buy a tree though. Can I count that?

Kitchen. I painted the cabinets and we got a new counter installed. We’ve also put a new rug in the dining room and other small new decorations.

Also outside.
I was struggling to cope with DHs recovery so I decided to keep my mind busy with projects.
So far I've build a deck and pergola, put together patio furniture, planted flowers and deck hangers/boxes, leveled an area and installed a pool, put up a clothesline, and put up fencing. Today I started building a pool deck and refinishing a picnic table and then I'm planning on building a fire pit area and hanging a 96 inch long dry erase board for an artsy outdoor area for the little ones.

Yes we have. We were supposed to spend our vacation the first week in June camping up the coast of lake Huron and doing a winery tour. And because that didn't happen, we repainted the outside of our house. It was a big job. But I'm so happy with it. The green is such a fun color.

Always wanted a tiki bar and got a quaran-tiki make-over to our existing little outdoor kitchen area. This project is not totally done...painting a mural of sunset over the ocean on rattan blind and also hanging a fishing net from roof portion to attach my collection of fishing floats I've beach combed. I also have 7 bamboo barstools DH got from Craigslist that need to be re-finished and re-lashed.

Ducklings. I don't have them yet, but I've collected information and plans and equipment. I probably need to wait until my health is better to be able to build the actual quack shack, but I have collected the pallet wood and salvaged fencing, etc. I plan to use. Just needed to put this here so I have proof that I was into backyard ducks before everyone else jumps on the bandwagon. I'll be the old hipster duck-herder of the neighborhood.

Yesterday we spent about four hours cleaning one window in our garage. We have lived here 28 years and nothing has ever been cleaned in there. It is a disaster, pig sty, hurricane--you get it.
So the window was full of crud, dead bugs, cobwebs. Took off the 2" faux wood blinds. Took them outside and cleaned them with Dawn then hosed them down. They came out really good! I thought we would need to pay $70 for the really cheapie new blinds but these are fine-and really clean.
Took literally five steps of cleaning to clean the windows and trim. Had to keep going over and over it again. So cleaned it inside and out, cleaned the screens and the blinds are back up. But it took the whole afternoon!
Now maybe we can tackle the other 99.9999% of the garage.

Wow. I’m impressed with how many have done so much. There are a few things I would like to do but don’t have any desire to furniture shop right now.

We had to replace our deck last year and finally stained it. Next week most of our landscaping is being redone as it’s quite overgrown and we want more drought tolerant plants. I’m excited about that!

We also ordered new deck furniture which will be arriving soon. I’m going to plant some large pots for the deck as well.

We have put in flower beds on both sides of the house. Brick beds, flowers, dark brown mulch, new bird feeders and my husband built me 2 new huge birdhouses also. We installed an American Flag and hung some Americana decorations out, new front door mat, large, medium and small clay pots filled with perennials and annuals placed around front and back patio. And this weekend we are working on putting a flower bed around our mailbox after we install our new mailbox.

I started in the yard by planting a few containers of veggies and herbs and running drip lines to them. Replaced a few scraggly plants and had a eucalyptus tree taken down. I was sad about the tree, but there were many issues including roots growing under the foundation that were causing damage. Rerouted a stone path through the yard. I patched and painted some areas of damaged stucco. Bought a new outdoor rug, hung an outdoor clock and added patio decor. I still have a couple outdoor projects, but those are on the back burner for now.
I’ve been purging, organizing, and cleaning the garage in small daily increments. The heat is brutal so small doses make the work tolerable.
I purchased vinyl laminate planks on Monday and will have the downstairs level and upstairs bathrooms redone. An installer is coming tomorrow to give me an estimate. I’m a bit hesitant about taking on such a big expense during these uncertain times, but I convinced myself it is okay since a family cruise in April and all summer trips were cancelled. I’m so excited about my new “Beach Cottage Oak” floors! They’re replacing a white tile floor with black accents that reminds me of an old-fashioned diner.
I’m enjoying reading about all the other projects being done and getting further inspiration from them!

Minor thing, but my upstairs hallway bathroom is my bathroom. I had a plain shower curtain and never decorated because we are having a new toilet, sink, vanity, flooring and paint done. Was at the bottom of the list since I’m the only one who sees it. I’m not ready to have any contractors in the house. I bought a new organizer and a super cute new shower curtain. Makes me happy.
This is going to be our summer of getting our outdoor stuff done. I have some tree work and landscaping to get done. May redo the front porch posts and paint. May do the shutters and a new front door. I’ve made a list, will see how it goes. We’re both still working full time so planning on hiring most of it out.

We put in a garden to grow fruit and veggies. It was meant to be our spring break project for this year, but school closed three weeks before break. We built 6 raised beds and are now enjoying our own lettuce, peas, squash and zucchini, peppers, strawberries and blueberries.
I'm also about to paint my kitchen...what else?? I've gotten new bedding and I have also ordered some shades and shutters. We moved in just before Christmas, so some of these projects would have happened anyway, but they likely happened faster since I've been at home more and have had more time on my hands to research and make choices.

And I know what goes into all of these things, because DH has done all of them....including leveling the ground to put in an above-ground pool. Do you drink a lot of caffeine? LOL.. Also, what kind of temps are you doing all of this in? I'm seriously so curious, because I literally could NOT do any of these things in the summer heat !!!! You mentioned trying to stay busy during your DH's recovery----has he had surgeries / been sick ? How is he doing?

Weird title I know. Is there an area of your house, inside or outside, that has received a fresh look or make over due to being in quarantine? For us it is our backyard and outside area. The patio has gotten an overhaul. We have added café lights that are enabled with Alexa, lots of new plants, a solar fountain, and fresh seating options. We typically go to the beach most of the summer but this year I have been home a lot more. We have decided to make our outside Our fun zone. We have a new movie screen and projector, and just bought a large fan to keep things a little bit more comfortable in the air moving around us while we are outside. My husband is even looking into getting a misting system to go with it so we have even cooler out there to eat. We added multiple birdfeeders so we have something to look at while we’re out there. There is one bird that has a funny feather on its wing that we have nicknamed Tuft and he is very mean to the birds around us, LOL. Obviously we lead an exciting life. 😉 What area have you revamped (if any)? That sounds wonderful! You will have to post pictures! The kids wanted to fix up a messy section of our yard with bricks and a little fountain pond.

You mentioned trying to stay busy during your DH's recovery----has he had surgeries / been sick ? How is he doing? He had surgery the Tuesday after memorial day. They found an old injury while looking for spinal lesions for MS and he was in surgery 3 days later. I bought the pool thinking it would be good for PT and then it escalated with my stress level. No caffeine, but a lot of anxiety manifested through physical labor. It's been hot, but the expanded living space was worth it.

We’ve done a few things to the backyard but mostly we just rearranged the outdoor furniture and added several more bird feeders. We get so many birds now. When I need a break from work or just some alone time I like to go out & just watch the birds. My son & I even bought a little backyard bird watching book so we could identify our new friends!

We do too-we play bird sounds through our outdoor speaker and have gotten to see some mating dances. I was given a large ceramic pot. I added water and a solar fountain and we have a nice bird bath. I realized the birds were too far from the water so I added a pool noodle across the middle as a little perch for them so they can splash in the water more easily. I am officially an old bird lady, lol.
