If my child had been a part of that I would drag her butt back home so fast her head would spin.

I just read this on CNN. You buy a ticket to get into the party and whomever catches the virus first gets the money from the tickets. W the actual F? And the thing is, they're probably not the ones that will get sick and die, they'll infect someone else that will end up dying.

What do these people have in the space where their brains should be? Parents used to intentionally expose their children to chicken pox too. There are idiots of all ages, in every generation.

I blame those parents for shingles. 😏 Well.. in their defense, there was no vaccine for chicken pox back then. And there was some semblance of herd immunity because most people got chicken pox when they were kids. So we can't blame them for shingles today, if the shingles patients had chicken pox before the vaccine. I had all of those childhood diseases and I remember my mother telling me that I needed to get German measles before I was ready to have a child because of how it could hurt the unborn baby. Fortunately there was a vaccine long before I had kids.

Isn't there some law against purposely exposing someone to an illness. I thought that I saw that they were charging people for coughing on produce or purposely on people when this all first started.
I'm over stupid people and stupid peoples' parents.

Yup. I'm actually surprised there isn't more of these parties happening. I had someone on my FB feed suggest it. "We're all going to get it anyway." I think people either forget, or don't think about the fact that we have NO idea how this virus will impact us in the future. Look at Chicken Pox, a virus. Back in the day getting it was pretty much a rite of passage. But it lies dormant in the body, and then comes back as shingles. Much more debilitating than CP. AIDS is a virus too. At the beginning it was a death sentence. Now, people can live with HIV, but it took many years to get to that point. Still no cure, and the medications needed to keep AIDS at bay are the real deal. Anyone who wants to get COVID19 on purpose at this point in time is a FULL-FLEDGED IDIOT. There is no cure. There is no vaccine. It is not know what the long term effects of having this virus will affect our bodies. I am not happy that 4 months ago TODAY was the last time I got together with a group of friends (I live alone) in a normal fashion (the first death here in Seattle had just occured 3 days before). I truly feel that what I have given up was for nothing. But....I'm in this to win this (live through it) so I guess it'll be another 4 months or more before the USA may have a handle on it. Blame your friends, neighbors, family members (and strangers) for the fact that this summer is going to shit.

Fortunately there was a vaccine long before I had kids. They also believed chicken pox caused sterility in males if you got it after puberty so it was common for mothers to try to expose their young boys for my peers ( I got CP the old fashioned way, at school ) My GP won’t let me get the shingles vaccine yet, I gave no idea what her issue is with it I’m over 50. I didn’t argue with her but I’m looking into it myself so I can discuss it again in Dec.

You don't need a DR's orders to get it, nor do I believe that you need a Dr's order for your insurance to cover it (if they cover vaccinations). I got my two doses over last fall and early winter at my local pharmacy. They billed my insurance. I never dealt with it, easy-peasy.

I just got my shingles vaccines (it is a series of 2 shots) last year at Walgreens and insurance paid for it. No need for a doctor’s permission, I just walked in and asked for it. No copay or anything.

Fortunately there was a vaccine long before I had kids. No, there wasn’t when I got them at 14 either. I did get the rubella one when I was 15 through the school vaccination program, as that had just come out. It was meant tongue in cheek, facetiously. My point really was that exposing kids deliberately is reprehensible, because you never know what future complications or adverse side effects they might be at risk for having had it.

It's a shame those covidiots cannot be isolated from the rest of us who want to stay healthy. Put them on a deserted island. Maybe with no access to health care and nobody to infect (like their families, etc.), they would learn. Then again, stupid is as stupid does.

Well, when all the elected leaders in the party that your state tends to vote for have been telling you that masks are for wussies and the virus is no huge deal ... what do you expect?

That’s just how many parents felt when I was in school. It was weird. If someone had chicken pox and news got out people would ask to come over & play. I never understood it. Why go get sick on purpose? My kids got the vaccine and the booster. I’m pretty pro vaccine.
