It was fabulous. Even my husband was impressed, and he is not a huge fan of musical theater.

We have seen it once but it was wonderful to see the original cast and I thought they did an excellent job filming it.

We watched it yesterday and thought it was amazing. DH and I saw the original cast on Broadway but we were far away so it was SO FUN to see their facial expressions and interactions better. We took our kids to see it in Chicago (also in very far away seats) and they loved seeing it up close with the original cast! It was superb!

I'm watching now. I have no knowledge of anything about Hamilton except that it's popular. So far it's cool but I'm having a hard time picking out a lot of the words. Closed captioning helps. LOL

I tried....... just couldn’t get into it, and I love musicals. Same except I'm not a fan of musicals. I had hoped I'd really like this one!

Watching it tonight! I’m excited. I’m a bit of a Hamilton virgin. I know the players and some of the music, but I’ve never seen it all the way through. Me, too! I loved it! I was worried that it wouldn't live up to the hype. But it was so great!

I saw the touring company in Philadelphia last fall and loved it. We watched last night and it really felt special seeing the original cast and soundtrack I am so familiar with. I encourage first timers to try listening to soundtrack first to become familiar with story. Or else use subtitles to catch it all. I will probably watch it again tomorrow!

I have to admit though, I have no clue who the guy on the left is. Anyone know?

I have to admit though, I have no clue who the guy on the left is. Anyone know? They have all been King George on Broadway. There is always an understudy and also actors playing King George move on and another is installed.

we watched last night. I loved it! I love musical theater though. It didn't feel like rap music at all. The way it was filmed was absolutely gorgeous!! it was so clear, and so tight. wonderful. We put on CC and that really helped.

We had 3rd row seats in the balcony, so had a wonderful view. There were so many amazing lighting effects, like the spots when Burr and Hamilton sing Dear Theodosia and the lighting on the stage for Eye of the Hurricane, that one can’t see when sitting in the orchestra level looking up at the stage. I really appreciated our seats. If we ever are able to see it at The Kennedy Center, we are sitting in the orchestra level this time (or that is where our seats are/were).

I haven’t come across him in any clips or media or interviews. There is a YouTube video I saw this week where they had a ceremony for passing the garter to a new King George and he was part of it. I’ll see if I can find it. Here it is, I think based on this and other “Coronation” ceremonies that he was the first King George.

It gets better. Apparently, that was his work shirt instead of his scrub top. You know, for Hamilton Day. He changed into a different Hamilton shirt when he got home. He is such a dork. He’s my dork <3 <3 <3

He's been on Broadway (as well as TV)for a long time! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_d%27Arcy_James He is also Officer Kruptke in the WSS Film that's supposed to be released later this year.

Oh, and my friends and I watched it last night. Two out of our group of 8 (watching together virtually) didn't make it to intermission, so it's not for everyone. Meanwhile, I thought I'd put it on in the background while I do a few things this morning. Nope, got totally sucked in and barely got a thing done.

I highly recommend using the closed captioning. The language is brilliantly written... Lin Manuel Miranda didnt win a genius grant for nothing. I listened to it so many times with the lyrics open before I ever saw the show.

Groff took over for him. And then Rannells subbed in when Groff went on vacation.

We enjoyed it! My daughter was a bit disappointed that all the close in shots cut out the dancers which she had really enjoyed when we saw it live. I'm glad I had a chance to see the original cast - but I'll be honest, I think the actor who replaced Lin Manuel Miranda was better than him. We're going to rewatch singing along - probably tomorrw. I said no singing for the first go through as I wanted to hear the actual original cast and my kids managed to not sing along - although there was some definite lip synching going on lol

I finally saw Hamilton. Loved the sister, wow what a voice. I didn’t pick up a lot but thoroughly enjoyed it. I recognized King George as the guy from Mindhunter. Who would have guessed he had such a voice? And also, it’s my biggest wish if a genie were to appear to me. Let me have a great voice. I wouldn’t ever stop singing.

I do think it helps if you've heard the soundtrack before, but my husband went in cold and still enjoyed it.
Ooops sorry - not sound track - cast recording. lol

Okay, ask her to play the soundtrack of “Chicago” - you’ll get the movie. You won’t get the Original Broadway cast or the revival or the myriad other recordings. That’s why people make the distinction. It’s always been a personal pet peeve of mine, but I don’t ever correct people anymore. I know it’s not important to most other people. Or to Siri, obviously. Freaking Siri. 🙄 😂

I just finished watching it for the first time. Brilliant in every way. I am just stunned at how brilliant, I mean I shouldn't be, because I haven't been living under a rock. But truly blown away.
