"Police say the neighborhood feud ended Thursday when Andrew Cote, 36, killed his 71-year-old neighbor and her friend with a shotgun, KVVU reported. Cote’s young daughter was present when Cote shot neighbor Mildred Olivo and her friend Timothy Hanson over a brick divider between their back yards, KLAS reported. Cote told police he “noticed Hanson was still moving and shot him in the head a second time.”" www.sacbee.com/news/nation-world/national/article243907452.htmlAll that time w/the bible and still didn't quite get the whole "Love thy neighbor" and "Thou shalt not kill". But right-wingers tell me daily how belief in god is necessary to be a moral person (hint: it's not). I think, in this case, it's amoral person.

To be fair, it's really not hard to be a pastor of a church in the U.S.

So crazy. I wonder what made him snap. Ruined his life and possibly the lives of his children. Senseless. His neighbor sounds annoying as S#$#! But not a reason to KILL SOMEONE - you'd think all that time he spent praying and thinking about god and the bible might have clued him in to that.

I would like to timidly point out that we all snap sometimes, to some extent. But the presence of a firearm makes the snapping so much more uglier.

It's very hard for those who follow a mainline seminary/internship/ordination/church timeline. That's very true. But a lot of "strip mall" type churches -like "Independent Baptists" or non-denominational or "church plants - don't go through the same rigor when creating a pastor. They also tend to be the ones where you can find a lot of google results if you google "Church pastor charged..." slate.com/human-interest/2019/08/sarah-silverman-pastor-hate-comments-new-independent-fundamental-baptists.html

Oh yes, I know that since I'm one of those who went through the hard track. But the original comment didn't sound like she was making a distinction.

Well except for all that pesky pedophilia business with catholic priests who also go through a pretty thorough process.

Well except for all that pesky pedophilia business with catholic priests who also go through a pretty thorough process. Definitely true too. And too many "mainline" pastors as well.
