I'm trying to give something away online through my local Buy-Nothing group. I only had one interested person. I told her to message me and I'd send my address. I send address. She then tried to video chat with me.
My Facebook is on my desktop pc and does not have a camera or microphone, so I ignored it and sent a message that the item is on my porch.
Five hours later it's still here. Grrr.
So because I'm 42 and old, why would someone try to video chat with me instead of just coming to get the stupid item?
If I didn't have a house full of stuff to get rid of (and a picky Goodwill) the flaky people who never show up would make me stop trying to give things away and just leave it outside until it disintegrates...

Maybe “she” was a “he” and using someone else’s picture. When selling or giving away items we don’t give out our address until they are ready to come. The postal code address is a grocery store a few blocks away. Sometimes, if things seem off with someone we will meet at the grocery store.

This person's Facebook is public so pretty sure she is a she... but the item is still here so grrr. I guess I'll add it to the growing pile of items in my garage people flaked out on.
