Hey everyone! In this tutorial, I recreated a layout I shared here a few weeks ago featuring paint splatters and butterflies. Link HereHere is the original you may have seen in the gallery. My Day by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr Do like to add paints or inks to your layouts? What are your favorite ways to add it?

Love the layout! Butterflies intimidate me, but I’m seeing a lot these days. Love adding splatters and inks!

Beautiful page Kelly! I've tried a few mixed media backgrounds, but lately I've been enjoying the sprays more than anything else. 950nancy was amazingly generous in RAKing a bunch of Heidi Swapp Color Shine sprays early this year, and I was lucky enough to be among those who benefited from her kindness. They're so much fun and they make such an impact! Thanks again Nancy

amyl- I love butterflies and their symbolism. But you could use anything. Thanks for checking it out. msliz- Paints are my favorite but I just bought some spray to try out. I bought some years ago and they were ok. I hope this time around they work better for me.

Here is the layout I saw on Instagram that inspired my pages and this video. It is from Hip Kit Club and isn't it pretty? Now I want to make another lo with just splatters all over and see how that turns out. Hipkitclub Layout by Kelly Roberts, on Flickr

I have done splatters with my altenew water color brush markers or my Avery elle liquid water colors. But I haven’t gotten much into any other paint. I’m not much into mixed media. Or at least I’m not right now lol things can always change. I used to not stamp much and that’s changed so...

hop2- Yes these trends come and go. I started adding paint drips and splatters in my art journals and maybe a few layout years ago and it seems it have come back as a newer trend now. LOL!

I really like your background music! I had no idea gesso was pronounced jess-oh! I have some acrylic paints that I want to try this with! Your photo is beautiful. I like the way you distressed the matte around the photo. A nice little touch. What brand of glue stick do you use?

Those wrapping paper butterflies were so delicate that glue was strong enough. Thanks for watching and commenting!
