I was dreading it! They don’t bother me personally, we don’t have a dog and my kitty doesn’t mind, but in years past they would ruin sleep for my toddler and baby. They were terrible nights and we’d pay for it the next day, too!
Knock on wood, but there have been more fireworks than ever and they didn’t wake up once! Maybe all of the extra ones throughout the last few weeks conditioned them. Lol!!

I love them and hate them. I really love seeing them, but in dry years they make me really nervous. This year there have been a lot of fires. We even saw one on the highway a few days ago blocking traffic in the other direction.
Tonight we have a TON of the big illegal ones going on all around us and very close. Pent up covid stress? I hate them this year because I'm nervous about them landing on my roof.

It actually wasn't that big of a deal. There were people setting them off starting around 9, and by 11 it was starting to wind down. Some big booms and a handful of the fancy aerial display ones. But mostly little firecrackers and bottle rockets. It was actually comforting hearing such a normal, yearly ritual celebratory activity going on around me.

I will say that I was pleasantly surprised that the fireworks were not very loud this year. Granted, I’m not out of the woods yet, we’ll see what tonight brings.

Yesterday's fireworks report: intermittant throughout the entire day from about noon until just before 10 pm. Just before 10pm, a bell must have gone off, because multiple locations all around went to town for about 30 minutes. Then there was about a 10 minute break, then another 30 minute free for all. Then from almost 11pm until I finally fell asleep around 1am, constant but from fewer locations.
If you are shooting off fireworks illegally in town after midnight, then you are just a really crappy neighbor.

Our lab gets really scared but we put a thunder jacket on her and then she goes into her "safe place", my bedroom closet. I cuddle with her and she comes out when she is ready.
As for fireworks, wow, in our neighborhood it was better than the cities have. Seem's "everyone" (except us) was shooting them off--and the really good ones.

Either I was dead tired or the fireworks stopped shortly after midnight... perhaps both... because I didn’t hear anything after that. We were able to see a few amazing displays so that made the noise a bit more tolerable.

Oh we had them starting around 4 pm with firecrackers and piccolo petes and on and off until about 2 am (that's when I finally fell asleep). All forms of fireworks are illegal here and there was no public display offered in our county. We've had them go off since the BLM protests, but last night had the most of all types.

My Lab is usually terrified of fireworks. However, with age fame a certain amount of deafness that the fireworks no longer bother her. Thankful for it since the fireworks were awfully loud last night. We were in the basement family room and I had the television rather loud. The booms were clear as day.

I hate them. The Big deep boom ones set off my PTSD. Every year I try to find something that will distract but so far I can't find anything. Last night the neighbors at my sons house were setting them off right next to the house (illegal) it went on for hours. Its not just that it sets off a reaction within me, but that they are doing these things illegally. Huge fire hazard here. Super hot and dry and it doesn't take much to catch things on fire. But as with everything else, their right to enjoy fireworks overshadows the safety of others.

Yes, they weren't too bad here this year but they always cause anxiety for my dogs and my brother has PTSD so we try to organize some sort of activity with the family that helps take the focus away from the noise but this year it wasn't possible because of COVID
