I live in a largely trump-loving Republican community that takes their love of Confederate flags seriously. Large banners in support of the current administration all over. It was announced way in advance that there would be no fireworks this year. Sucks especially because we happen to be able to get a really good view out our back door. However, I don't see that there is a lot to celebrate this year anyway, so I'm good with hoping that next year will be a better year.
My community however is not taking this no fireworks edict well. As you might imagine, if no one is gonna tell them they need to wear masks, no one is gonna tell them that they can't have fireworks either. You'd think we were in a war zone from the sound of it. I really believe there are more explosions going off than when we have the large orchestrated professional display. I also live within sight of our fire department. 4 trucks, 2 squads. All have been dispatched within the last 10 minutes. In different directions. I guess the next fool won't be very lucky. Speaking of lucky, what do you figure the odds are that they are suddenly wearing masks, and in their own yards? How many do you think are setting them off alone?
This could be such a nice place to live. I wish their flags and all had been on display before we moved here.
Oh, just consider this a vent. It is what it is. I realize that.
As far as getting out, we would have moved years ago if we could have (we both have needed many surgeries and haven't been well enough to move out of State). We're hoping to move out after DH is done with his surgery and recovery from cancer.
I'm sick of playing, "Is that fireworks or gunfire?" Down here. People shoot off their guns in celebration of everything. We are in more a rural area and the general population is full of backward people.
