Anybody on the AC DT childfree or urban dweller?
Not going to lie, I like Yui's non-AC stuff the best... Selfishly, I want her to stay away from doing a grid full of AC projects for the next 12 months. Congrats to Victoria and Tazhiana!

Whoops, I meant besides the three names I mentioned but yes, so far, Tazhi is the only exception I can spot. Lucile doesn't have kids but she doesn't lead a very urban life (and she ruffled some feathers in the French scrap community after joining AC with her sudden video rants about how the cheaper brands were not good and she no longer recommended them after building a YT audience doing cheap scrap hauls).

I was thinking the same about VM - I hope all her projects aren’t just AC and hope she doesn’t burn out again. I feel like she is more creative when she’s doing projects that aren’t DT work. I’m happy for her for making it, but I’m not a huge fan of AC products.

I don’t know half of the people on the DT but I’m happy for the ones I do know and follow already, and especially for Tazhi and Victoria who I would’ve thought are big enough names that it was crazy they weren’t invited in the first place. Hope they don’t have a heavy workload, since there’s so many of them. I’m happy that they get this acknowledgement of their talent, the recognition and validation, and hope that they help influence AC and other companies to listen to and connect with a broader demographic. We’ll see.

If anyone wants to follow a happy feed from the DT, I recommend Obed Marshall's. I'm glad AC are retaining him for another year because he's pure sunshine and a great fit for their aesthetic.
Am I dreaming or is this team significantly larger than last year's?

I'm very happy their new design team now has more diversity. I really hope all the designers are encouraged to scrap in their own unique style, and are not turned into homogeneous cookie cutter papercrafters.

Am I dreaming or is this team significantly larger than last year's? I think it is, mostly because they added people but didn’t take spots away from others who they had already asked.

(and she ruffled some feathers in the French scrap community after joining AC with her sudden video rants about how the cheaper brands were not good and she no longer recommended them after building a YT audience doing cheap scrap hauls) Sometimes the inexpensive brands are inferior in quality, but the timing of that and burning your established audience doesn't seem like a very wise choice. "Fast, cheap, good; pick two", as the saying goes. Good and inexpensive aren't mutually exclusive but be prepared to spend a lot of time looking for those bargains.

I'm always looking for people who are making scrapbooks that reflect people who have lives outside of their identities as parents.

Am I dreaming or is this team significantly larger than last year's? I did an image search (fastest way to see the DT announcements I’ve found) and it looks like the last 3 years they’ve only had 6 people! And the original “master” team this year was 13 (12 plus Paige as the “master” coordinator). So it seems they had already expanded it greatly, and then they added even more people.

I feel like this is a reflection of the lack of representation on design teams, not who actually scrapbooks. I wish Kelly Purkey and Jamaica Edgell still shared their scrapbooks, they were both great sources of inspiration from single, childless women. There was this other girl that used to share a lot too and she stopped... I can’t remember her name right now but she’s Canadian and she had a little dog. Elise Blaha Cripe used to share project life every week, but she stopped scrapbooking when she had kids. I am a parent, but my project life album is about me and my life... my daughter shows up but she’s definitely not the main focus. I do create a separate album about her, but most of my projects are focused on me... I’m the one who is scrapbooking, it’s my story. I think Ali Edwards takes a similar approach and maybe that’s why I can connect with her projects so well. It also might have something to do with the fact that my daughter is a teen. If I did project life when she was a baby she probably would’ve been more of a focus, not because it wasn’t still my story, but I spent a lot more time with her then because she needed constant supervision.

The girl with the dog is Tracy @tracyxo_ I was a child-less scrapbooker until recently when I had a kid. I agree that you don’t see a lot of scrapbooking ideas for people without kids. It was even harder for me because I didn’t even have a pet to scrapbook about lol.

I'm a single, childless scrapper that lives in a city. I like breweries so a lot of my scrapping is about breweries I go to, places I travel, pets, self-portraits, etc. I do scrap my nephews, though.
We exist.

I think there are a lot of childless scrapbookers out there, they just don’t get on design teams because they don’t fit the mold so their accounts aren’t as easy to find. Also, some of them might not share pages because they don’t think anyone wants to see? Hopefully DT diversity becomes more of a thing...

I don't think child free is a requirement for child free scrapping. My DS is 29. Pretty much just me and what I'm doing in my scrapping. I always say DH, DS, friends, and pets make a guest appearances, but I'm not scrapping their lives, I'm scrapping mine.

Well that post was annoying! It would have been nice to put the instagram names of the design team there instead of in the additional comments. I kept clicking, +,+,+ over and over again.
Here ya go @terhi_koskinen, @sorayamaes, @obed.marshall, @fannimayo, @09yui215, @dejolieschoses18, @evapizarrov, @jerodelletrinidad, @beavalint
@lauritabalboa, @victoriamariescraps, @mojosanti, @floramfarkas, @scrapdiva.29, @lisafonseca1985, @guiademanualidades, preciselytazhi, @zannist, @paper_sweetpea!
While the design aesthetic of a lot of the team members is a bit too much for me, I did follow a few more. Obed Marshall, his whole feed is just pure happiness, but doesn't feel overwhelming.
And YES YES YES to jerodelletrinidad! Love this post.
"Being “disabled” doesn’t mean that I’m not beautiful and can’t be showcased or represented in a positive way! "

We exist. And are very valued. I love our childless and child-free scrappers. Life is not children. Children are not life. They are a part of life for some. They are the heart of life for some. They are not life validators. Life is interesting and challenging and crazy and funny and maddening and glorious. With and without children.

@zingermack If I had a nickle for everytime a scrapbooker thought, “You don’t have children, what do you scrap?” I might be able to buy DH dinner out. 😂 I say this as a scrapper with a child (granted he now almost 30).

Anybody on the AC DT childfree or urban dweller? Not going to lie, I like Yui's non-AC stuff the best... Selfishly, I want her to stay away from doing a grid full of AC projects for the next 12 months. Congrats to Victoria and Tazhiana! I’m child free (unless you count my fur kids) and I live in a small apartment in NYC so I guess I’m both! I’m just deeply invested in telling my own story and not letting anyone else do it for me which is why I scrapbook the way I do - lots of words, lots of photos of myself, lots of feelings - and I’ve had some people tell me that’s vain but scrapbooking and story telling is already such a radical act of self love that how could it not be self centered? Bottom line, here for all of it and ready to shake things up.

Yeah it's the old school mentality of what a scrapbook should look like. I also come from a very conservative, patriarchal culture where a woman is expected to give up her identity for her spouse and child. I'm sure I have baggage from that as a professional woman lol.
