Snapped a photo of a store-bought pizza that came with a sticker for the domestic abuse phone line. I've never seen that before on a food product in France. Considering the sudden spike in domestic abuse cases when we went into national lockdown, I thought it was an important "small" thing to document.

Posted this in the sharing thread for July but also here, ICYMI I finished my virus diaries notebook! yay! And I filmed a quick flip through but technology is not doing what I want today so the flip-through is sideways. If you're looking on a phone/tablet it will be easy enough to turn the screen to watch properly, but not so much a laptop/desktop. Sigh. Apologies for the crick in your neck. I don't want to spend my whole afternoon trying to figure it out, I'm not a video person, so I will drop this link here and hope if you want to see it that you can. www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/17876472457737780/

joblackford Beautiful! I didn't realise until your flip-through there are so many inserts and flip-ups in your diary. I love such elements for the extra interactivity they bring. The NYT vellum print spread still makes my heart skip a beat! Love your masked selfie page as well. I haven't even had the mental space to snap more than a couple of masked selfies (maybe because I try not to touch my phone when I leave our apartment). Thanks so much for sharing! I feel all inspired and energised to tackled my Pandemic Summer mini (still waiting for my adhesive, mind you #fourweeksandcounting).

I feel all inspired and energised to tackled my Pandemic Summer mini (still waiting for my adhesive, mind you #fourweeksandcounting). Thank you!! Yes, there ended up being more tip-ins and flip-ups than I had planned for. The joys of being a wordy girl who loves all the photos too. I was very glad when my brain came up with the vellum NYT page. and then when I realized I could do the same for the intro/word art page. I really wanted to share it on video because as a notebook it's more than the sum of its individual page photos. I had originally started taking a stupid selfie every morning on IG so some of the selfies are those, but then I added in some of the masked ones after that started. Some are just before heading out, some are just after I leave, I can't stop myself from taking photos and I also wanted to model mask wearing before it was very widespread here. I also take a fair few when I get home and I'm about to choke on all the cords and ties in the heat (so wishing I at least had contact lenses right now). I usually take off my hat, snap a selfie, take off my mask, wash hands, wash mask in hot soapy water, hang to dry, then wipe down my phone. Maybe I need to document that in Volume 2! I cycle between being depressed that I still have so much to talk about (I barely touched on a fraction of the political BS I wanted to call out) and excited that I get to do another book with a different tone and format if I want to. And obvs I'm depressed that in the US we're just barely getting started on the chaos and death and half of the country still thinks it's a hoax. Sigh... I will try to share a few more page details. I reworked one page I wasn't liking and I haven't shared my intro page properly. Hope your adhesive gets there SOON! and you ordered extra.

So the problem I have found with working from going back to the beginning of this till now(I'm barely in Jan/feb/Mar) is I keep remembering stuff to add as I keep thinking I'm done with each months section! I should have took notes on the days I wanted to remember certain events. So if your gonna start doing one at this point, start taking notes! I sure wish I would have, but then that would make me organized and that's just crazy talk!!😂

My friend gave me the Photo Play, Reminisce and CM quarantine papers and I am waiting for a preorder from Kiwi Lane. I also ordered several die cuts from a friend. So my documenting is geared around using some of that stuff.
I mostly print headlines from the governor I see on Facebook, and I have taken quite a few different photos of highway signs about staying home and washing hands, I took several photos of us with our masks and lots of pics of the signs on the floor in stores.
I'm really documenting it for my granddaughter but am doing a few pages for my son's teacher album and my younger son I will do a page. I used to just do 1 or 2 pages of newsworthy events like 911 and Katrina. For this I have gone more out of the box.

I should have took notes on the days I wanted to remember certain events. It's very hard to keep up with this project if you're not taking dated notes, I agree. There's already such a heavy mental load because of the extraordinary circumstances that one's brain finds it that much more difficult to accurately store the rest of the information. I'm curently approximately two weeks behind on my pandemic summer mini and already struggling to remember some stuff!

Use this thread as a placeholder if you want, ladies!
I need to remember to make a spread about my summer 2020 playlist since we're missing out on all the music festivals we usually attend. I'm mourning my usual summer habits. It's just these walls, windows and trying to leave the apartment when the staircase is empty. *heavy sigh* So far, I've got: Dopamine ft. JHart, Kungs (with very 2020 lyrics: "I'm okay but I'm not okay") Island, The Avener x Maddy Rituals ft. Luiza Fernandes, Fakear I Leave Again ft. Shallou, Petit Biscuit Doorman, SebastiAn 3 Letters ft. Blasé, Agoria Pale Yellow, Woodkid Satie I, Thylacine

I must admit, the first few months of the pandemic, I was stressed out of my mind and didn't even document / photograph anything. Now I have started documenting our everyday life at home. But as I am currently ten years behind on my scrapbooking I won't be getting any of these times into any sort of album / layout anytime soon

Sharing some inspiration in the video format just because Rhiannon Ashlee's stay at home vlogs have been so exquisite and peaceful to watch during these stressful times. Every little thing that rhythms your daily life, that adds flavour to existence stripped back to its bare minimum is worth recording:

I should have took notes on the days I wanted to remember certain events. So if your gonna start doing one at this point, start taking notes! I sure wish I would have, but then that would make me organized and that's just crazy talk!!😂 Definitely the more notes the better. especially with Pandemic/Groundhog Day brain fog. I was referencing my online journal, which I write in every night, which most importantly has a search function, so I could find all the little mentions and consolidate them, but also articles and texts and emails and screenshots and the timestamps on all of them, and it was still really hard to go back and make sense of it all and fit it all in, even being organized. I saw an article blurb (which I now can't find, obvs) of the crazy changes at the beginning of the pandemic with this that and the other thing being closed down, canceled, changed, announcements being made, etc etc and the kicker came at the end of the sentence "and that was just March 11th" To some extent there was no way to keep it chronological because everything was happening at once and new information was revealed later that changed my views of what had been happening. I didn't find out until mid-April that my SIL had read about the Seattle Flu Study case (high school student community transmission found by accident) in mid-March, that was about transmission silently going on in February. So, you know, what is time? Also, Blursday rendered time meaningless anyway. So I sort of embraced the chaos. What I am realizing now though, I would've included different things, more funny things, if I had started earlier and worked on it more regularly. By waiting I didn't have memes sprinkled through the album - they all got grouped on one page. I am thinking of approaching vol.2 as more of a diary and less of a summarized "historical document" so I'm realizing that I need to make a decision and START right away if I'm going to do it. Just jump in and do it. Catching up is hard.

I am a note taker by nature, and have kept notes since March. I have needed to look back at CDC & WHO Instagram for January & February timeline information.
I'm also guilty of taking pics of my tv screen (my teens laugh at/with me about it), but it's a good way to get a timestamp with the day's headlines, and the case #s & death #s.
My album has raw journaling, like when it took a month+ to even get any response from unemployment, then another three weeks after that to get a payment, and I wrote of my worries.
I have a lot of memes throughout my pages. Some dark humor, too.
My pages aren't all pretty. Some are facts laid out more than anything else.
Some are snapshots in time, of me & the kids playing a game. And those I pretty up.
I include events that are related to the pandemic. When the DOW dropped 3000 points. When the price of oil went negative for the first time in history. Unbelievable dumb stuff Trump says. Primary voting date being moved, and being allowed to vote by mail. A pic of Biden in a mask.
July's pages will include the back & forth of whether kids should attend in person school. Memes about it. A screenshot of the survey the school sent us.

Unbelievable dumb stuff Trump says. Not wanting to start a political argument with anyone but I might need a whole book for that topic. I forgot to note the negative oil prices but I remember scratching my head and asking my spouse if that meant that they'd be paying people to take it.

It's good, I liked it. It held up well to having tons of stuff pasted in, although I did switch to Epson Matte Presentation Paper instead of photo paper to cut down on bulk. Glad the Peas helped me find that. It's pretty thick but the stitched binding is holding well so far.

Yes joblackford I'm really kicking myself for having to go back cause there is allot that happened in real time that should have been documented that isn't now. And I had planned to do the same for the memes, just a full page of them. The funny part, in the beginning of this project I was adamant that the show Tiger King was gonna get it's own 2 page layout, but man so much has happened I'm now like, does it really need a whole 2 pages? Also proof how quick things are moving along and how at the moment things are "important" and now months later so much has happened and maybe it doesn't?! I think I need to go back thru my texts in March with family members to jog my memory as to how much we talked about the show... I now wish I would have picked a bigger size album. I went with the citrus twist life crafted travelers notebook size which is like 8 1/4X3 1/4? Too small for everything I want to include! I should have went up a size to 6X9. So kicking myself now. But oh, well, volume 2 will have to be that size, cuz there will be a volume 2, I'm barely in March and it's pretty full!! I'm still taking pictures of our new "normal", although it has slowed down quite a bit. I have been taking pics of the TV since the beginning. I do screenshots of news articles and text messages I want to include as well. As for the person in the White House, I will have screenshots, pics of the TV and journaling throughout that goes in chronological order with a pandemic card I download that says something like in the news currently, or pandemic news, and I may make one that says SAY WHAT? Also doing ones for our state and Governor since we have been in national news allot. See, this project got HUGE! That's not even including my family and personal/work life!!😳 I gotta get off of here and get to work!!😂

I have used a Dylusions (I think) black paper album and that was honestly terrible. The paper was not forgiving when I ripped things back up and I realized halfway through that I would need to cut out every 3rd page or so to save the binding, by which time it was already a bit too late. It wasn’t made for pasting in, which I found pretty strange for a black art journal. I’m not sure if that’s like the mixed media journals they do. Anyway, the HS books are pretty nice and the binder is good quality too. I should be able to get about 5-6 full notebooks into the binder. It comes with 9 bars for notebooks but you’d only get that many in if you didn’t paste anything inside.

Thanks for bumping this thread refugeepea ! For several months in a row, I've had too many pages per month, mostly due to adding literal pages of memes. For August, I plan on being more selective of the memes I include, and focusing on data and facts. Every few days in August, I have been jotting down the global & USA totals for cases & deaths. It's staggering when you see where we started & where we are at currently. Every month I have included Instagram posts from my governor & mayor. August has just plodded along, not a whole lot interesting happened locally. I might include the screenshot of a big outbreak that originated at a church down the block from me (i dont attend, but it was big enough to be on the news & in the paper). September will probably be a bigger month, documenting-wise, with the beginning of virtual school for my kids.

I"m mini-albumed out for now. Preserving my forces for October and December! I've gone back to filling my Happy Planner and it feels good although the news, over here, isn't. France's detected coronavirus cases is spiking up again. Yay us! I'm just doing a mix of cultural consumption, world + local news about the pandemic, personal documenting in it. I've switched up how I work in the Happy Planner for memory-keeping and it seems to suit me far better than what I used to do before. refugeepea Thanks for the song recommendation. I had added that song to my confinement mini album back in spring when it came out. A book recommendation on the pandemic for anyone interested in analysing in real time what this crisis could lead to in terms of economy and society: Covid-19: the Great Reset by Klaus Schwab (Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum) and Thierry Malleret (from the Monthly Barometer). Interesting, easy to read, historical parallels (and why they're limited to analyse the current crisis), strong structure to lead the argumentation, good but accessible economical data and more. It's been eye-opening in certain aspects. Price for Kindle edition globally seems to be around the US$5 mark so definitely also accessible financially. I love the emphasis on interdependence and why so many people speaking out - diverse scientists, economists, politicians - come to flawed conclusions and shaky discourses/leadership due to not taking in the full picture.

Anybody got a page to share on how they documented their Amazon grocery subscriptions in their Pandemic album/PL? I just went over the 50 item threshold and barely had a handful going before March this year so I'm thinking it's worth recording how this is changing my shopping habits as well...
