I didn’t see anyone talking about this, but especially given that it was originally a 2Peas thing I thought it was worth mentioning. Also since so many people were disappointed that she wasn’t designing for AC any more. She talked about it during her Monday Fbk Live sessions today. She’s partnering with scrapbook dot com to create a kit wishlist that she shares - people can buy the whole kit or any parts they want, from sb dot com with her affiliate link or elsewhere, and she will use the kit when it arrives so people can scrap along. I’m glad she has this opportunity and it sounded like people were excited about it. her affiliate link: shrsl.com/2db89

I saw that the other day, but I didn't know what it was all about. I thought (hoped?) maybe she'd be doing a class or a video series using those products. Glad to hear that's the case. I have a few of the papers on the list, so it'll be fun to see what she does with them.
Some of the items are already sold out! I hope she gets a nice percentage for selling them.

I already have most of those supplies (which shows you my scrapbook supply buying problem). I'm looking forward to seeing what she does with them.

She’s hoping to make it a monthly thing, and once sb.com gets an idea of the popularity they might be able to increase supply to match the demand. She was going to make some substitutions/additions because some things were already selling out during the Live where she announced it. She encouraged everyone to look for similar items and shop their LSS and/or stash. Hopefully international mail will reach her promptly enough to make it all work. No guarantee these days (my family got their Easter cards I mailed in March in June).

The affiliate link in the original post will take you to the wishlist/shopping list hop2There aren’t pictures on Fbk yet because she hasn’t received her kit yet, so she talks about it (but doesn’t show it) in the most recent live video from Monday. I just copied the link from her Live video posts.

I used to buy along back when she did this on 2Peas. Sad to say, all these years later that I still have 2 of the sticker sheets. LOL Thanks for posting.

I do really appreciate this model for a “kit club” since it gives so many options for people to personalize their kit and mind their budget. And it’s an easy way for Shimelle to do what she loves and make a little extra money.

I really like this idea even more looking at her list. It's the best of both worlds. You know she's good at scrapping and designing. Now, she isn't stuck promoting one brand. I tend to scrap this way too. Some of this line, some of that line. She just does it better!

I used to love this on the old 2Peas board. I also remember how fast the items would sell out. Since I don’t have FB I have a couple of questions :
—Will her videos using the kits be available on any other sites, i.e. her blog, Scrapbook.com, YouTube?
—How do I access her list on Scrapbook.com? It only seems to work with her link.
Maybe it’s a little early since this is all new but just thought I’d ask.

I have tested this personally and you just have to tell Fbk "not now" when it tries to get you to sign in. You can't comment or anything, but you can see them, and they're all saved under the videos tab of her glittershim (business) page. If you worry about Fbk privacy etc I would use an incognito browser to view it. I don't that she'll get all the videos on her blog/YT, or at least not promptly - I know she's been trying to get more videos posted in all of the different places but it's a lot to keep up with. But who knows? Maybe she'll make it a priority now that Start With a Sketch class is finally almost done and she doesn't have AC commitments. It's possible that she'll do something with posting videos on scrapbook.com in conjunction with the list in the future but I'm not sure about that. As far as I know the only way to get to the wishlist is using that affiliate link. I tried to mess around on the site and look for other pathways but didn't find anything.

Shimelle posted the first video today - she did it live on Fbk but also posted it on her blog to view. www.shimelle.com/paper/2565/my-first-scrapbook-page-with-best-of-both-worlds-august-2020-kitShe said she will do a mixture of chatty long live videos and the more concise/sped-up YT videos because she knows some people prefer one kind over the other, so I think if you sub on YT you'll see some of them. She also blogged the video of the kit and how you can sub supplies from stash or LSS. www.shimelle.com/paper/2564/the-return-of-best-of-both-worlds-my-version-of-a-scrapbooking-kit

TY so much. I thought I wouldn't be able to watch because I keep fb off my machine - even as embeds depending on how they're embedded. But this worked! Oh good! I wasn’t sure how it worked with having been a Fbk video originally, so that’s good to know. Hopefully she’s able to keep up with blogging them - I think she’ll make more effort since it’s directly tied to the BOBW kit and therefore a long-term income stream. I appreciate that she’s trying to keep everyone happy by doing different kinds of videos. I can’t always handle rambling live videos... and I don’t like to give Fbk any more traffic.

I LOVE that Shimelle is doing these kits w/scrapbook.com!
I love that she encourages people to use their own stash for parts of the kit.
And she said: "This one is from a Facebook Live scrapping session, so it has lots of non-scrapbook chit-chat. (If that’s not your style, please don’t worry. There will also be strictly-on-topic YouTube videos of projects with this kit!)"
YEAY!

I liked that the two examples I saw didn't use cut files. I don't have a machine (except the old cartridge cricut one) and I really like her videos but they haven't fit me lately because of the cut outs.

I don't have a machine (except the old cartridge cricut one) and I really like her videos but they haven't fit me lately because of the cut outs. She does try to encourage people to see the cut files as optional - sometimes she'll say just to use a patterned paper with a similar wreath shape or use punched pieces or something like that, or to buy the designs cut for you by someone else, but I'm pretty literal so I can understand not loving lots of videos about something you can't/don't do. I think she'll mostly keep that to her Paige DT work and try to make the BOBW stuff more inclusive, which will be good. I definitely get the feeling she doesn't want to alienate people from this! I LOVE that Shimelle is doing these kits w/scrapbook.com! I love that she encourages people to use their own stash for parts of the kit. And to only buy what they love and need and will actually use. And it will be nice to have some edited videos too. I sometimes fast forward through parts of the Live videos if the chitchat is going somewhere awkward or if I'm tight on time. Sometimes the chatter is good for background noise and company but I end up tuning it out so much I barely even notice what she's doing on the layout, which is kind of pointless.

Just a heads-up to anyone who didn’t watch today’s Fbk Live that Shimelle is offering the 2nd month’s kit now, using the same affiliate link as listed in the original post. She said she’ll update the shopping list for the first Live of each month, and this will be the September kit because it will take about a month to reach her. The first kit is being considered the August kit, because she’s using it throughout this month. The details of the August kit can be found on her blog.
