Hello!! I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy! Enjoying summer as much as you can? I have to admit it's been a pretty laid back relaxing wkend, due to not being able to plan things! I have to head down to my hometown this wk to help out my parents, but that's about it for plans.
**Talking point this wk** Facial dark/age spots! i know we have talked about our facial cares. I wanted to talk more about age spots, because they can be...embarrassing? or stand out more because they are on our faces. I am starting to get one on my lower jaw. I hate it. I'm not sure what I should do. I am sure it's from all those crazy yrs of laying out in the sun, and also my pasty white Scandinavia MN skin. Has anyone tried any creams, lotions, potions on them? and had good results? I do moisturize every AM with clinique dramatically different, and at night when I get home from work I wash with Dr. Hauschka and also his moisturizer. Has anyone else gotten dark spots? Gad. I hate saying age spots.ugh!!

I have one that's come up on my upper left forehead way on the top. Not too big, but it's there. And one on my hand. Do they still make Porcelana? I had seen a dermatologist a year ago about something else and asked about anything to use on them but they want you to see their own person. I'd like to try something else that might work first. Any ideas?

I have one on my temple but I wear bangs so it doesn't really bother me. Even with my hair off of my face it doesn't bother me, but it isn't particularly dark. I think if it was on another part of my face I'd feel differently, though.

I haven't noticed any yet but now I'm wanting to go check my skin with a fine tooth comb!

I have one on the left side of my face - where I get exposed when driving - that I’d really like to see go away. I had an acid (?j treatment quite a few years ago, and that lightened it, but it’s back to the way it was before.

I don't have age spots, but I was never allowed to wear makeup until I was 18. As awful as that was for a teenage girl, I often think that is the reason for my good skin. I'm sorry that I don't have any info for you.

I was using a vit C serum, and didn't notice any difference with use, so I stopped. Sounds like I should probably start it up again!

Still all well and safe in this house. We got together with my Mom & brother today - his daughter brought her 3 week old baby to see us all for the first time. It was SO hard not to hold him!!
I am a very freckled gal. I have a spot on my right cheek close to my nose, that a bunch of freckles seem to have migrated together and joined up to make one large spot. I'm very self conscious about it. I've had it checked out - referral to a dermatologist - he said it was some big long name, and then said "an age spot"
UGH
I could have it removed - but that's considered cosmetic so not covered by benefits. I have no idea what to use to make it fade. But I'm really considering having a consult about getting it removed. My fear is that I'll be left with a red splotch after, and then what was the point?

How about hair? My hair has thinned out so much I'm afraid I'm going to go bald. I just started Hair, Skin & Nails, added collagen to my coffee in the morning and hope that will help.
Anyone have any products that helps their hair appear thicker?

I haven't had to deal with any spots yet, and I am 54. Thinning hair has been an issue since my thirties, the only real fix is Rogaine, generic works just fine. It's really the only thing that actually works, but I use a hair powder that helps quite a bit. Hate aging!

I don't have age spots but I have gotten a lot of keratosis on my back. My dad had the same thing with age. I hate what my back looks like now.
Now and then I get one that's very itchy and have to have the dermatologist remove it.
I guess if that is the worst of it I can't complain.
Separately, what are you looking forward to this week? We're having the tv room painted and getting a new couch. (I'm redecorating the room entirely in an urban boho style.)

Anyone have any products that helps their hair appear thicker? I've always had really fine hair. One thing that is cheap and works is head and shoulders -- even if you don't have dandruff. Also I use a texturizing spray as a root lift after I dry my hair. (Mine is Oribe but probably any one would work.) I lift up a few layers and spray lightly.

I'm looking forward to having a few days off work, but not why, the going down and taking my dad to surgery. Hopefully everything will go ok, and I can come back early. There really hasn't been much to look forward to at all!! it sucks.

So far my hair has been ok. Some thinning, but not too bad. Mainly in my bangs and the area right above them. I've always had stick straight hair.

I did 5 rounds of IPL on my face, neck and décolletage over a period of about 2 or so years. I am a fair skinned, freckled redhead. They really made a difference to not only age spots, but the redness in my skin that is due to sun damage, particularly on my upper chest and nose.
I finished them up about 6 years ago and have been saying for about 3 years that I need to come up with the $$$ to do another 5 for all the new stuff that has popped up since then. Plus I’d like to do my hands now too.
I had it done by a nurse in my dermatologist’s office.

I have a bunch at my hairline on top. I don’t wear bangs so I think they are really noticeable. I’m going to try the stuff that Patter mentioned. Just put it in my cart on amazon. I had a spot of basal Cell carcinoma removed from the top of my head about 7 years ago. They shaved the top of my head a little bigger than baseball size when they removed it. That was fun for a while, but I know there are much worse things. I have a pretty wide spot there near my part that never grew back in. Oh, the joys of aging.

Not on my face but I have on my hands and arms. I had bad eczema as a child, and now those scars are coming back to haunt me.

How does your dermatologist remove yours?

I was using a vit C serum, and didn't notice any difference with use, so I stopped. Sounds like I should probably start it up again! I think it takes consistent long-term use. Not sure if you did that or not but it could also be differences in our skin. I am just guessing here. Hopefully it will work for you if you try it again. The blend I use is delicious. It's the only word I can use. I love the consistency, the smell, and the color. It's wonderful.

I should have known that, because I'm fair skinned and avoid sun, due to the risk of melanoma. I am freckled, so probably have spots on my arms.
