Wow, I didn’t know she was ill. So sad! John has lost two loves to cancer now. And then the lost of their son.

I had no idea she was sick either. Oh, that is unfortunate.

I hadn't heard anything about her being unwell either, that managed to keep that very private.
2 years, that's quite a short time frame for breast cancer these days.

I can't help but think they ignored conventional treatment for Scientology.

I can't help but think they ignored conventional treatment for Scientology. That unfortunately was my first thought as well.

I can't help but think they ignored conventional treatment for Scientology. I had the same thought, but then I looked at her instagram and it looks like she has been wearing a wig for quite a few months, which makes it seem likely she's had some sort of chemo.

Oh wow.... terribly sad for John Travolta...even if I don’t agree with his religious views I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

I wondered if their Scientology had anything to do with her death.

John mentions MD Anderson Cancer Center so they didn’t ignore it, at least not forever.

I read that JT’s girlfriend in the 1970’s also died of breast cancer. So sad to have experienced this twice in his life.

I am glad in a way she was able to keep this private - whatever way worked for her. I am sad for her young son and daughter. I love the picture she posted of John and Jett on Father's Day (in the link); I am not a huge Travolta fan, but he clearly loved his son Jett intensely and he also made sure he was prepared for all his special needs instead of only farming them out. I respect that.
John may be ready to live his own life now and be honest. I am hoping he leaves Scientology. I, too, think that perhaps it had a base of responsibility here.

I had wondered about whether scientology played a part in her treatment as well, glad to hear she had some medical attention. It must have spread quickly

So sad. I thought Scientologists just didn't believe in Psychology but not all medical. You can't be depressed and get antidepressants.

I can't help but think they ignored conventional treatment for Scientology. I initially thought the same thing but People magazine stated "Choosing to keep her fight private, she had been undergoing medical treatment for some time." I think Scientologists don't believe in mental health treatment...they aren't opposed to general medical treatment. I could be wrong about that though.

Well John could never seem to accept that his son was autistic and tried to blame a variety of other things. And if I remember correctly there was a lot of talk at the time about Jett possibly not being medicated for his seizure disorder...but we have no way of knowing if that was true. However it does seem that Scientology isn't totally on board with conventional medical treatments.
I did see on Instagram post when I was looking earlier that there were a couple of time that Kelly does say her son had austism, so she obviously came to terms with it even if her husband didn't.

She was being treated at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas according to his post. It doesn't look like a Scientology based facility. It's part of the University of Texas system. I would assume the cancer was advanced when they caught it.

Scientology does not believe or condone in traditional medicine. My gut tells me she may have been “treated” at a cancer center but I wouldn’t be surprised if her “treatments” were vitamins.
Travolta will never leave Scientology. They have too much dirt on him.

If she had IBC, that is so aggressive even when caught early.
I'm glad she was able to have the privacy she desired.
