Indoor dining never opened up again in Santa Clara County. I have eaten outside once with a friend, on a weekday for lunch. It was fun but I probably won't do it again for awhile. If it wasn't crazy hot I'd probably take lunch to a park with a friend.

Nope. Takeout, yes, but sitting in a restaurant, no. Being inside anywhere but home for more than a few minutes freaks me out a bit. If I feel like we've been in the grocery store a little too long I get panicky.

No. I live in Florida. I get nervous just going to the grocery store and seeing so many unmasked people. I would not feel comfortable indoors eating among others.

NO NO NO - I'm in Florida.
We've done pizza delivery twice and drive-thru thrice since early March. That's it.

HELL NO. And we own a restaurant. (We haven’t opened our dining room up; we are only doing takeout.)
And I don’t order takeout from restaurants where the dining room is open.

We’ve eaten twice inside a Rubio’s when we’ve gone in for takeout and have been the only patrons there. I sanitize the table myself and we sit at the farthest table from the register.
But I’m a regular restaurant setting, no.

Yes, I have dined inside and outside.
When we dined inside, the restaurant has two levels - upper is patio dining and some indoor dining, and the bottom is just indoor dining. We sat downstairs and us + one other table of 4 were the only people dining downstairs. Our waiter said the upstairs was busy (just took his word...we didn't go up there at all).
I felt completely safe and felt like the restaurant was being safe (everyone had masks, took tempatures, etc).
I'd do it again. I actually felt safer with just one other table while dining inside, than when we dined outside (at another place) that had many more people on the open air patio.

Nope. Texas here - we opened then closed again. I haven't eaten in a restaurant since March and have no plans to do it anytime soon. Takeout is fine if we're in the need for restaurant food.

We have gone out twice since indoor dining was allowed. One place made us feel super comfortable - masks worn correctly, gloves, contactless payment, seating more than 6 feet apart. The other place, not so much. Majority of staff didn't wear their masks correctly, no gloves, no option for contactless payment, some seating too close together for comfort. We're willing to check out our favorites to see what they're doing, but not every week. We're thinking about checking out another favorite in a week or so.
Otherwise, it's all take out.

Not a chance would I eat indoors - and I'm in one of the safest states (CT.) Not sharing anyone else's air.

I'm not comfortable eating inside a restaurant, let alone outside. I just don't know how I can trust the consistency of cleaning the tables and chairs. I think maybe at first they will do a pretty good job, but time after time, the task might get a bit boring, so it might get sloppy. I vision the back of a chair, where one would use their hands to pull the chair away from the table to sit down would get missed a lot. When doing a grocery pickup, while waiting on our groceries to be brought to us, we watched the guy gathering carts. He sprayed the row down with a disinfectant, went and grabbed another cart and added it to the row and walked off. That one cart did not get disinfected. That is how I vision things happening in restaurants, so I stay home and order pickup or delivery and say my prayers.

No, my restaurants just opened this week for indoor dining. I will not be going. I haven’t even done take out during this pandemic. I’m fine cooking at home for the foreseeable future. I don’t trust that the general population has been as diligent as I have and I’m not willing to risk my health as numbers are going up throughout the country and people are continuing with their summer traveling.

There is no way I am sitting in a building with other people and having a server standing directly over me. We do curbside or delivery only.

No.
There was only a short window when it was an option here before a rise in cases was traced to bars and dine-in restaurants. They are shut down again until the end of July.
Outdoor dining and takeout are still options. We've done take out a few times but just not interested in eating around other people.

Near us in Chicago, the only indoor dining I’ve seen right next to a window or if the restaurant can open their front completely (like a garage door or wall of windows) where you’re practically eating outside.
I haven’t even eaten outdoors at a restaurant yet. Six feet is still not enough for me.

We did once at a restaurant in the next county over (indoor dining is n/a in our region). We went pretty much when they opened and there were maybe 5 tables seated when we left that were in different sections of the restaurant. I'm in no hurry to go again. I love outdoor dining during the summer and our favorite neighborhood place has the best set up for being social distancing. We might do that on Friday after work.

Eating inside still isn’t an option here, but that’s about to change with announcements today.
I’ve only done takeout 4 times, and when I did patio dining once I was nervous. So It’s unlikely I would do inside dining.

Yes. Did so night before last, actually. We take all the precautions - masks, sanitizing wipes, distancing and feel quite safe enough. Same here. My husband and I have eaten out a few times since things began opening in may. All local places with distancing of tables and good sanitizing practices. We wear our masks and carry hand sanitizer.

I haven't personally and don't feel comfortable with the thought of doing so.
My DD has a part time waitressing job in a really nice Italian restaurant. Fully booked. Opened this last weekend. DD had different duties which she was happy about - Friday night she was hostessing - greeting, taking temps and contact details, seating in the waiting area, taking orders and showing to the table. She was really glad not to be on restaurant duty or on the pass. Saturday night she was working behind the bar. Lots of hand sanitising and cleaning of menus, hard surfaces etc on a pretty continuous basis.
There are no requirements for the waiting staff to wear mask, so the employer are not providing them (not happy) however she and all the staff were wearing their own masks.
By all accounts they were fully booked and are for the foreseeable future too, which is pretty well normal for them.

Yes, once. We felt good about it, lots of room between, tables block off. Of course, we went when it was not busy. There were probably 3 other tables being occupied out of 20. This was back when we first opened inside seating. We have not done it since.

Yup. We have eaten outside maybe 3x but last week we were going to be waiting for our table (yes we had a res) and it was hot as balls out, so me and my friend opted for inside. It was completely fine and I never felt unsafe. I am in NY and we have been in phase 4 for about a week now.

Hell no! I’ve eaten outside twice since CT opened up and I didn’t find that particularly enjoyable either, as for me, eating out is about relaxation, so I just feel it’s not worth the anxiety.

Yes we have eaten indoors and out several times. I feel comfortable with the way the restaurants I’ve visited have been set up for distancing and the staff have been very conscientious about making sure customers are following the rules. That said, we walked by a pub (in small town BC) a couple of days ago and it appeared crowded with lots of yelling and nobody manning the entryway to ensure sanitizer use. Definitely would not set foot in a place like that.

Yep! done both indoor and outdoor dining. I've been comfortable with how the tables and such were cleaned before us, and tables were well spaced. All staff wore masks. Last wk there was a surge in our area after the 4th of july, when a bar volleyball team went out after playing and went bar hopping in our downtown. Not only was the whole team infected, but some of the players worked at the bars, and then infected others in the bar. So all those bars voluntarily shut down last wk for deep cleaning and testing of all their employees. I hate cooking. so we'll cont to do this, and take out.

Here’s the thing: more and more we are learning that you are far less likely to get COVID from touching things. Surface transmission is far more likely when something has been used recently, particularly near your mouth. So your chance of contracting it from a menu or table is slim, and even slimmer if you dine outside. Your server’s chance of contracting it, on the other hand, is much higher. They are clearing your dishes and talking to you, while you are unmasked. (Because, of course, you’re eating. How can you mask?)
It doesn’t matter how much they wipe the table down, what matters is that a week ago someone who came in had COVID, but wasn’t showing symptoms yet. Now your server has it, but they’re not showing symptoms yet, either. And they’ve sat and discussed the specials with you, and then they carry out your plate, and set it on the table, and you pull it a little closer, and you start eating, and you’re all breathing that lovely, recirculating air. Especially the employees, who are going to be doing it all again tomorrow with a new batch of customers.
Taking a temperature before every shift *seems* like a good idea, but also not really. Because not everyone has a fever as a symptom... one country (Japan? Korea? Somewhere like that.) reported something like only 30% of people with COVID have one.

We haven't eaten at a restaurant since my oldest's birthday in March. The day before everything hit the fan and schools went on lock-down.
It helps that our community has so few sit down restaurants to choose from, but no, I'm not playing those odds yet.
