Now, what about the Atlanta Braves? The Cleveland Indians and the KC Chiefs are going to have to figure their shit out now too. Though I think the Braves have come out and said they aren't changing their name. They might do away with the Tomahawk Chop though. We'll see what happens if their brands start to pull money though. How will they stop the fans from doing the “tomahawk chop” ? You really can’t control that. Well I guess announcements can be made. If people don’t listen will they be removed from the stadium?

"McCauley first trademarked the Washington Pigskins in 2015, and while he has lost count himself, a search of the US Trademark and Patent Office website shows that he holds trademarks for names such as the Washington Monuments, Washington Redtails, Washington Veterans, Washington Red Wolves and Washington Warriors. Despite holding trademarks for a number of potential team names, McCauley said that he offered them for free in writing on July 4. However, he said that he has not been contacted by the team or the NFL. As for how much he has spent on all of the trademarks, McCauley simply said that it's "less than someone would pay to go to home games for 6 years for tickets, parking and refreshments."" www.cnn.com/2020/07/14/us/washington-nfl-trademark-spt-trnd/index.html

The origin no longer matters when Native American themes have taken over.
