Yeah, I noticed Feed Your Craft has it on their new stamp designs too.

For sure about the copyright infringement... this is not just Lara. Like I said earlier, KP is one of the most blatant violators and I know SC has done it before as well... I'm sure others. I just thought it was especially hypocritical of Lara to attack people for buying her stamps off AX when she was guilty of copyright infringement herself.

Yeah I noticed some other designers doing the watermarks too, that's not that odd. What really made me think Lara's protections were a little more intense was the blocked off half images where she just types out what the rest of the stamps say in the description, you can't even see the full image. I just found her extra steps to protect the images to be more intense than I'd seen from any other brand.

For the record, I totally support and understand artists trying to protect their images and wanting to keep them off AX. But I also think they shouldn't be violating the copyrights of larger companies.

“The legal way” probably means that she thinks she’s producing fan art - fair use. She isn’t licensing the stuff - there’s nothing to show that she got the permission of the intellectual property owner. She’s not naming names so I’d say she’s definitely trying to fly under the IP radar. It’s hard to say whether Disney and whoever owns Friends would agree with her interpretation that this is fair use. I’m not sure that we consumers would actually want these IP rules enforced too strongly - I like being able to buy fan art interpretations of popular characters. But anyway... that’s what I think she meant by doing it “the legal way.”

Oh my, there is no BLM alliance in this drama. The mission has been overshadowed by privilege. I don’t know what the truth is, but EGO has totally taken over the cause. It seems as if both sides are more concerned about being right vs. getting allyship right. I’m sure both did something they may regret and the best thing they can both do is take a breath, reassess, apologize to their customers for going unhinged driven by their egos and start again by doing the work necessary to support anti-racism since they both claim to be on this long journey.

I should note that I am a Black woman who only owns the media mat from Tim, he’s not my style and I frequently purchased from Lara’s original shop when she sold scrapbook supplies as an online scrapbook shop. She was always super nice and friendly to me. If she made a mistake on my order which happened a few times she fixed it and was extremely courteous.

I don’t know what is going on, but I wish them both a nap and peace of mind.

Did you even read this thread? If you did, you'd realize there are people who support Tim and people who support Lara...and most are people in between. So I really don't know what your beef is when it comes to this topic.

I think that everyone knows darn well that the owners of Friends, Disney, The Office, or the Big Bang theory did not give her permission to make stamps for her profit.

And there are people who are freakin confused.

I’m not likely to do business with either for a bit til shit sorts out.
