Oh look...people trying to distract. I don't feel like this thread is the one to call us nasty, though. This thread is one of the most multi-faceted I've seen in a while. There are some who side with Tim, some who side with Lara, some who think both are bad and some who consider it a draw. There are some that will stop shopping or never shop at one or the other, some that will intentionally patron one or the other to show support, some who won't change their shopping habits and some that don't even know who one or the other is. This was actually an interesting conversation to follow because of the different interpretations and overall understanding that regardless of what we each ultimately feel, the truth is probably going to remain unknown to all of us.

The email posted early in this thread allegedly from Tim says that Zoe has been removed from anything to do with his brand.
As of today she is still showing as an Admin on the FB page and was still posting as of yesterday. I would think that lends toward his claim of the emails being doctored. And what an easy thing to prove or disprove; it’s odd to include that in the email.

What did the card look like? Did they take it down because they didn't want to (in their opinion) get political? I don't understand why the card would be a problem, BLM is a good thing and I would think showing diversity would be an asset to Tim Holtz and company. I’ve been trying to see that card but haven’t been able to find it. |

I have been following this since I saw the apology on Tim's IG account. I have read through everyone's responses.
Something with Lara doesn't sit right with me.
She is a drama queen who I feel was using the drama to get more followers. Kind of surfing the back of the very important movement to make monetary gain. Sick.
I don't believe her.
And if she had receipts and the truth then 1. why did she bot share the receipts, 2. why did she keep diverting talking with Zoe, 3. why did she delete all of her videos, posts, stories, and 4. why did she post that youtube video about all of Tim's racists followers not believing her?
Girl has issues.
Until I have hard evidence, I will continue to stand by Tim and team.
People aren't nice all the time but I do not believe he or any of his team members said that crap.
Lara is just upset this all backfired in her face. But hey, play with fire, you can get burned. 🤷♀️

What’s funny is Lara saying she was doxxed , when it was Lara herself that bled her life story and troubles all over the Internet—no one had to go looking every hard for information, she’s the one who put it out there. I had read in her comments to someone either attached to the YouTube video or the IG post that she claims “a black woman contacted her to address the racism”. I honestly find it hard to believe that (any) woman of color would hide behind a white girl!! Seeing how’s this has played out, I’d stick with : Lara is a Lying, Liar, who Lies. She’s now in “I’m a victim” mode, hasn’t learned a thing, and will probably come back with a claim to be a “spokesperson” for anti bullying! Lol |

And then after all this comment reading I got an add from HSN that they have the hinged precision stamp press in stock again which I found weird because of the whole lawsuit thing. But it’s too much money for me to buy another stamp press lol. |

I also don't see Disney on her website? I just took a quick look and there seems to be a Baby Yoda stamp which is def a Disney property, and Harry Potter in the past (maybe sold out now?) which isn't owned by Disney but a lot of people think is (including me until I googled it). Also Mickey/Minnie ears stamps. I noticed that there was no written description on the stamps indicating what they were about which makes it less obvious to anyone looking IP violations. Baby Yoda was just called "baby on board." She's probably hoping that she can claim that it's just "fan art" or something. She's definitely making money off other people's ideas, some of which she almost certainly doesn't have a right to use. There was no indication that Baby Yoda is a licensed property of Disney, which would be required on the page if she had a license, right? I don't necessarily agree with how strictly IP stuff is handled, especially in the realms of fan-art and fan-fiction, but it does seem awfully hypocritical to call customers out for buying rip offs of your stamps when you have ripped off the ideas in the first place. How does this work with other companies then? There is at least one other company that has Baby Yoda, Star Wars, Care Bears, stamps - even if they are her own drawings, they are someone elses property? |

ETA: The licenses to very popular images/movies/music/etc. are very valuable. Here are a few examples:
+ Disney owns the rights to everything Star Wars related and they paid $4 Billion to purchase those rights from George Lucas.
+ Michael Jackson earned $825 million in 2016, despite being dead, from companies/people licensing his music, image, etc. |

Lara has declared a moratorium on all Tim talk in her Facebook group. She also said in a different post that people are reporting her products to Shopify, which is causing some of them to be yanked by Shopify.

I just checked them out and they’re cute. And very carefully avoid any trademark triggers in their descriptions. “Science geeks” who just happen to look like the characters from the Big Bang Theory... They didn’t even use the plural of friend in the write up of their Friends stamp - they carefully only used the singular and besties. I don’t know that the IP owners would see any of their stamps as fair use. Considering Disney sent a cease and desist letter to a small town in New Zealand where someone had painted a mural with some Disney characters on the restroom wall, I’d say they’re not very forgiving... and the toilet block wasn’t even making a profit off the images. I think that was back in the 90s. It wasn’t even an IG famous mural. |
