OMG...this is horrible. I experienced the wrath of Mario and Zoe last year in the Facebook group Tim Holtz addicts. My daughter and I had tickets to travel to Texas to see Tim Holtz at a show in Arlington last June. This was not a cheap trip, but my daughter had seeing Tim on her bucket list.
Without a formal announcement, all the sudden his appearance at this show was deleted from the calendar on his website. A woman questioned if this was true, and she and I expressed our disappointment over this. I know he was not well because of heart issues, and I was saddened, that they did not make a announcement either on his blog, or the convention website. I did not wish him ill, nor did I expect him to jeopardize his health. But I guess my words were misconstrued (which can happen). And Zoe went on a wrath, mocking me and the other woman and blocked both of us. I was publicly shamed without any way to defend myself.
This is very small compared to this issue, I only write it to say I totally believe what Lara is saying....

What a SH#($* SHOW. All because Tim and co didn't have the balls to support an artist who used Tim Holtz products to create art about systemic racism. Even if she/he pulled their card from the group, Tim and co could have made a statement saying "XXX decided to take down their card. But we thought it was beautiful and we stand behind #BlackLivesMatter and more awareness of systemic racism. " Etc. Way to be brave, Tim. The Tim Holtz Addicts group is non-political group. And as a closed group they can ask/suggest a piece of work that is political be removed. Anything to do with George Floyd and BLM is clearly political. For Zoe, the administrator or even Tim to make any type of statement about BLM would be political in a non-political group. Which could be seen by others as an open invitation to include political messages in the work that they post. On Instagram, Tim has been supportive of BLM and highlighting the work of black makers for weeks now.

I believe so many privileged people are saying that it is political because they attach capitalism and white supremacist ideology to the Black body.

I’ve been consumed with this all day. After much thought, I’m leaning towards Team Tim. I don’t think the emails actually sound like him. They sound and look fake to me. There is blatant contradiction regarding Zoe (she’s released from brand/Tim’s public letter supports her). I also keep asking myself, “Would Mario really say that IN WRITING?” Lara was awful to a lady on Insta awhile back... called her a terrible human, shamed her, humiliated her... chased her down for using product from Ali Express. Right or wrong, Lara’s approach was WRONG. No one deserves that! I am going to keep my mind open for the time being....

Totally agree those two subjects are NOT political. Just like COVID-19 and wearing a mask are NOT political. They are health and safety issues.

Tim’s wording about “doctored screenshots” could mean many things. If he came out and said those email responses from both me and Mario are 100% fake, we never wrote those words, that would be a whole different ballgame. But he didn’t. There is definitely more to this story. http://instagr.am/p/CCl4aH0nmsw I’m not disagreeing—it could mean something other than what us being assumed.

Read some replies, not all.
Go to The Ink Road instagram and click through The TEA instastories. Not gonna debate her stance on fake dies, which is a majority of the stories, but she addresses the Tim thing several weeks back. She acknowledges in her stories that the original creator of the artwork took it down herself, not the moderators. Her video says the opposite. I *think* I came across a reply from her under her video where someone points this out, and she says she will correct it in her next video. She also references being dropped by SSS several weeks ago, so this is not something that just happened in the last couple days.

This was posted in that Facebook group. Looks like they're trying to buy silence with product. Because fangirls didn't have enough Tim products before. Where did you get this from? What Facebook group are you talking about? I’m in the Tim Holtz Addicts group and I never saw it. In reading it, it reads like it was written by a two year old and not Tim. I think you have been duped. It was posted in the Ink Road Roadies group. I put a link to that group in an earlier post.

To have the audacity to say that is so outrageous to me. It’s really a supreme being ideology to even think life is political. This world seems doomed any place touched by colonialism. So hard to have the optimism when people think your life and you family’s life is political.

True, the emails, if real, are bad. So why not put them put there and let them stand alone? Why be disingenuous and accuse moderators of doing something she knew weeks ago was not them? It takes away from her credibility in general and puts motives into question. Her whole premise that TH et al are racist is based on the fact that THEY removed the art, and deleted comments supporting the artist. I missed it all as it went down, but I suspect based on the nature of that board, that ANY comments related to anything other the the art itself rather that it’s theme, the artistic process in making the art, and the products used were deleted, whether they were for or against. They did not remove the post, and she was posting to that effect several weeks ago.

I’m holding judgment on this one until more comes out.
If Tom or Mario did say the things that are alleged thinking it would never get out, that is so wrong. Their business should suffer.
If Lara is making up or twisting the facts, that is really disgusting. Her business should suffer.
I really don’t like people dissecting her entire past and immediately writing her off because of it. Yes I know that the best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour. It’s not always fair to dismiss someone as a liar because they don’t have a perfect past. She may be way off base here, she may not.
Guess we’ll see if we ever get the whole truth.

In a written post that remains visible for little more than a second, I saw that Lara says she has been made aware that the artist took down her own images and that it was not Zoe who took them down. This was 5 weeks ago. I'm not ready to say I'm "team Tim" here because I still believe that (if true, and I still think it might be true) their responses to her were extremely unprofessional, however I could also assume that they were likely very sick of her false accusations by that point. As they often say on reddit, ESH.

Lara cannot even publicly acknowledge that maker of the card took it down herself. She knows this, but does the “yeah but just think of how badly she had to have felt by removing her art” so that makes TH, M, & Z racist.

Playing devil's advocate here but I think it is less about actually being political and moreso adopting a phrase that conveys something that addresses a myriad of topics that will likely cause conflict. I personally eyeroll the shit out of religious art but at least have enough sense to not start a debate about it why I don't want to see it...not everyone understands that you can just keep on scrolling and keep your opinions to yourself. And yes, I get that you shouldn't modify your behavior to avoid those idiots, but not everyone wants to deal with those people.

It looks like Lara has posted a 2nd video. youtu.be/SQLc2r26VkI I haven't watched it yet. The comments on this one are mostly negative. So I'm going to guess this is some sort of drama thing. I think both sides might be in the wrong and neither handling it well.

Have any of you watched her stories where she yells and screams about people using Ali Express? She would go on tangents. Then she would screen shot normal everyday crafters and shame them and bully them. She is really not a stable person. Most definitely not professional. When I found out it was her I was not shocked at all. Tim, otoh, has always been professional, sane and accepting of everyone in the 2 decades I've followed him. I'm sure there's more to the story, but Tim's character speaks for himself, imo. I'm JUST now getting to this thread because I knew you all would be talking about it when I saw the post from Tim on my IG, which was just talking about 'the individual' and 'she'. I figured you might unmask who the person is. I'm presuming you're talking about Ink Road? Isn't that the same company that we discussed before she started making her own stamps by attacking another pea who didn't get her full order and when she challenged the charges, the shop owner (who again, I presume is Ink Road) then went apeshit accusing said pea of preventing her from being able to pay her bills in spite of the fact that the contested charges were the result of incorrect items sent and the shop owner's refusal to send the correct items (I might be mis-remembering, but I vaguely recall that perhaps the shop owner wanted the pea to send back the wrong items out of the pea's own pocket before the owner would send the correct items??). At any rate, I DO know that a friend of mine with a decent YT following would receive harassing comments from Ink Road on every Ali haul that included a stamp or die about how terrible she was for buying stolen IP from Ali. Eventually, my friend got tired of deleting her comments and simply blocked her. The Ink Road owner is unhinged and as a result, in spite of people loving the stamps from there, I will never patron that shop because of the bullying mentality she seems to have. She is not the morality police and her bullying is ridiculous.

She actually did acknowledge it in the YouTube video Comments and in her insta stories. But it's more dramatic if she lies in the video and corrects herself where most people watching the video won't see that correction...IG stories only last a day and people aren't going to scroll and read through every comment. If she really wanted to make sure people had the right information, she could add an icard, notate the incorrect information in the description, delete the video and repost with the edit, etc. But the lie front and center and a quiet correction that not everyone is going to see indicates to me that it was probably intentional (since it seems she knew the correct information prior to this video coming out) in order to bolster her claims.

Watch to the very end of the second video. She says she severed ties with all other retailers because she is not set up to do wholesale just yet, but she grandfathered SSS in because she likes them. Ain’t nobody “grandfathering in” an established company like SSS, even if they are not everyone’s favorite. Nutter does not even begin to describe her inflated self-importance separate from the TH issue.

Unfortunately, however, once the misinformation is out there, there is no way to ensure that everyone given the wrong information will receive the correction.

This could have been the strategy all along...say it anyway knowing it was a lie and then edit the truth in to save her ass?? I used to think crafts was a safe place from drama...oh, how story after story has repeatedly punctured more holes in that already deflated balloon.
