Our August trip to Vegas for an event has been rescheduled to later in the year, and I've changed the hotel and flight already...
... but we're pretty sure it's just going to end up cancelled outright.

We had to cancel our family reunion in Maui, 20 of us. We hope to go next year. Another vacation was canceled as well. So bummed! Seeing family is everything to us.

I know this will sound so superficial, but I even bought new clothes and a new camera for those trips. Cancelled all. I'm in the same boat. I bought a new camera for our March trip to Brazil that we cancelled the day we were due to leave. By the time we actually make it to Brazil, there will probably be new technology and I will wish I had waited to buy a different camera! Oh well.

Add us to the list of cancelled family vacations. We typically only vacation every other year or every few years. Our last trip was 2018 to the St. Pete Beach area of FL. This year we were supposed to go to Fort Walton Beach, FL the week of Memorial Day and it was ridiculously cumbersome planning the trip to arrange time off of work so that I had a back-up available to fill in. Of course we cancelled and the very week we were supposed to be there I saw photos on Facebook of two families I know vacationing in Destin, right next door to Fort Walton Beach. Also, my niece and her DH and 2 young children rented a house in FL for the entire month of May. Ugh!

I had no big trips planned this year but I did canceled a few short trips to Maine and NY. Canceled an annual weekend with old high school friends at our camp.
Not actually canceled just changed (but still sad about it) a family vacation at our camp. My brother/family, myself, and our parents usually all go up and stay and enjoy some great “bonding time” the week around the 4th of July.
This year my brother/family stayed Fri to Fri and my parents and I went up and stayed the last weekend. After they cleaned and cloroxed they did not go in the camp but stayed and had dinner. It was a funny but sad picture. My brother’s family of 4 at the picnic table and my parents and I in chairs with little tables 6 feet away. I also went up one day when they were there and stayed outside and distanced. I was still able to watch the kids swim (my niece just learned how to dive off the dock) and play some distancing croquet. Stayed for dinner also, it was a really nice day. They all could be together, I just had to stay away from all of them. 😏 But I really missed the week of all being together so much. 😔

Our Disney Cruise in September was cancelled. We've re-booked for next year, but it still sucks.

My husband and I had a 20 yr anniversary trip to Austria/Switz/Germany. My DD graduates from HS next year and I was going to take her to Italy, but I'm not comfortable booking anything in the near future...

Haven't been to see my daughter and son-in-law since January. Haven't been ANYWHERE. I want to go to Charleston for a weekend - but wouldn't dare. It's not safe and it would be irresponsible. Still, it's heart wrenching to see all these other people out on the beaches and know we won't.

We have a deposit on a 3 week Dubai and India tour with Globus in Oct. So far they have cancelled All their tours through Sept. 30th. India is now a hot spot so I doubt that will be taking place. Now you also have to worry about being allowed into foreign countries and then being allowed back in the US.

We cancelled a road trip to Colorado to visit DD. Really sucks that pics from our trip out there two years ago kept popping up every day in my photo memories over the last few weeks. Rub it in much, google photos? Geesh.

We’ve cancelled 2 trips thus far, including an extended family cruise to celebrate my parents’ 50th anniversary. Our last trip of the year is supposed to be 5 days at Disney World the week before Christmas. Right now it’s looking like we’ll cancel that, too. We are big travellers and not being able to travel has been the biggest disappointment for us in this whole pandemic. But I do realize it’s a first world problem, and we are fortunate to have our health. Yeah, I was walking through a parking garage last week with DS and he said, “Doesn’t this remind you of the airport? I think this is the longest I’ve ever gone without travelling.” 🙄

I am sorry that you just cancelled your family vacation. I feel like "BooHoo" and so what. I am sorry to say that to. We had a big family vacation planned for the July 4th weekend for two weeks to include a lot of outdoor activities, hiking, canoeing, etc. and shopping, visiting touristy sites, etc. We cancelled it back in early April because we had a rally good idea how this summer and possibly the fall was going to go. Its been very disappointing since this is the time we were supposed to go. But we all still being very cautious and pretty much SIP, with realistic trips to the grocery, very small contact, trying to limit exposure. mask wearing. etc. To wait to cancel a vacation a week before it happens seem unrealistic. So we are holding out hope for a Christmas vacation instead, but we are pretty sure we will have and idea much sooner before firming all plans, etc. We will NOT wait a week before to cancel as that is is not realistic in todays world. katiekaty We did not cancel a week before the vacation. We cancelled a month before the vacation. "Boo Hoo and so what" - how kind of you. Our beach vacation was supposed to start August 9. We cancelled on July 7. The last date that we were obligated to either cancel or pay. We have rented the same cottage for the last 8 years and the owner was more than kind and understanding about the whole thing.

We were going to go to Costa Rica. We also go to Vegas a few times a year.
Instead we are heading up the mountain to Estes Park for a weekend. Not the same, but a moose would lift my spirits.

We were supposed to attend a wedding in Jamaica the first week of May which also coincided with our anniversary. This would have been our first vacation since Aug 2014, so yes, we are very disappointed

Cancelled our trip to Rome in November. 25 yr old DS and I have been taking an annual trip together just the two of us. Every other year it’s a bigger trip that’s why we were going to Rome. I’m so disappointed

we were supposed to leave this coming weekend to drive to VA and spend time with DS. It's not happening for SO many reasons - DH is under a travel restriction from his job, DS is under a SAH order (except for essential stuff like groceries and essential work duties) from the Navy. And even if neither of those were true - I'm not willing to risk travelling at this point

So many trips and plans canceled. It's too sad to list them all out.
We have been eternally grateful that the new house we moved into in January has such nice outdoor features - the salt water pool, gazebo, screened porches, outdoor cooking station, firepit, and a hot tub. We keep joking about heading outside to "the resort."

We are retired, and travel kind of a lot.
We cancelled a week in Ireland back in March for the 3 of us. 2 week annual trip for Ds and I to Indiana to see family in July. A week long bike adventure in Nor Cal in August for Dh and I. Three 4-7 day bike races for dh thru Aug and Sep. A week long West coast trip with my sisters for August. A month in England in Sep Oct for Dh and I. A trip to Prague for the 3 of us over Thanksgiving.
We're sad.

We had a 2 week trip to Paris and Rome booked for May. We cancelled long ago. We have credit with the airline, but there is no way I'm re-booking at this point.

We canceled our trip to Smoky Mountains Resort Water park through our condo. The water park is open, but that's just not something we need to do. Our family reunion out of state was also canceled. I wasn't going to take a long flight and meet up with people from different states and several with high risks. We were not planning to go even if it continued.
It sucks seeing all these trips on Facebook. How are these people staying safe?
We are getting home projects done and saving money as well. Next year I just get a longer trip to use my timeshare points. Hoping it's safe to fly next summer.

We try to do Europe each year and a few smaller trips but didn't even get started on planning for Europe this year. We still have ten days in Yellowstone/Grand Teton scheduled for next month and most but not all things can be cancelled up to about 7-10 days before. Hoping that poof--it will go away by then. Sure...
My DD and her boyfriend had planned Italy for May to celebrate his college graduation. Cancelled. Then decided to go to a small Pokemon event out of town. Cancelled.
But I did find her a round trip flight to Japan next May for $400 round trip that she jumped on. Hopefully things will be "normal" by then.

We had to cancel our spring break/dd’s senior trip to Paris.
For summer we booked a house for a few days with beach access. We plan to bring our own food and not eat out. We can drive up in one “sitting” and our only planned stop is to pick up some rental stand up paddle boards.
We still have plans for Cancún after Christmas. I fully expect that to be cancelled. Unfortunately.

My nephew's wedding planned for November has been changed from a big white wedding to just the couple and their parents and siblings -- that cancelled the only trip we had planned for this year. We haven't gotten to do much these last few years taking care of my SO's dad who had Alzheimer's so I was really looking forward to this trip, but even if the wedding plans hadn't changed we wouldn't have been able to go anyway because we help out SO's mom every day and she's medically compromised. What does surprise me a bit is that the wedding couple still plans to honeymoon at Disney, but they're young and feel invincible of course.

We cancelled a 3 generation family trip to Orlando in October. It would have been the first time the littles had been abroad and the first time for all the others to have been to the US. It looks like it will be rescheduled to Disneyland, Paris in the spring now. Just as lovely, just not the same but worth it if we can all stay well.
