I did not open tonight. I spent most of the night moving flowers, digging up trees, catching bugs and putting them in storage and visiting a mystery island. I am in the process of moving the Resident Service center and I moved my tailor shop over the weekend so I am still cleaning up that mess. I have also started to build flower patches that will produce hybrids when watered. I NEED the hot pink tulips and the green mums!

I think I'd like to try to grow some! Blue roses come from hybrid reds. To get hybrid reds, you breed orange and purple roses together. You can get orange from red seed and yellow seed roses. And you can get purple from two white seed roses. |

I think I'd like to try to grow some! There are 2 methods - tons of oranges and purples to breed hybrid reds, breed hybrid reds and hope. OR, this method that I'm trying that's literally insane and why did I do this!? (Chances are better to get a blue rose, that's why.) Scroll to the Blue Rose section. It's wild. OMG this trying to breed these colors has my head spinning. I'm thinking I'm going to give up and just focus now on my island set up. All I do is breed tons of the same colors and I spend so much time digging up extras and selling lol. I don't think I care anymore if I ever get a blue rose. Kinda. At least for now.
I missed out on @wholearmor island! I was so busy this weekend I didn't have too much time to sign on.
I am reading about all your projects you've got going and I wan't wait to come visit! I'm at a standstill, I'm at the point I need to decide if I'm going to be doing some serious relocating of things or not. I kind of want to relocate my cantina and mercado but I can't decide where.

oh and does anyone have any predictions about what is coming in the August update? I hope it's something really major like MORE SPACE for custom patterns. I keep thinking I want to add this and that but then I'd have to take down other things that I love to have the room. Really cramping my style!

Thank you for sharing that link, dawnnikol. I am stuck over there, because I'm looking at the elaborate islands. I love how much creativity goes into this game. I'm gonna be busy organizing my island. I'm overrun w/flowers and I need to do serious gardening. I'm going to move buildings. I want my houses to be in a cul-de-sac area.

My suggestion would be to just pick one flower you want to shoot for. I, literally, had one of each going at one point. It's a lot of fun, but you need a ton of space. But, if at any point, you decide you don't want to do it yourself, I'm happy to share! I have every hybrid except blue roses. ONE DAY, BLUE ROSE, ONE DAY!!!

Regarding flowers: I gave up on a couple of the hybrids and asked for help on a FB group. A really kind soul gave me a blue rose, blue and purple pansy, and black daisy (can't remember what it's called in the game). If I ever get to that point where I have extras, I will do the same and pay it forward. I planted those without any other of the same type of flower around and now they will occasionally clone a new flower.
Also, remember that when you are breeding you have to have space around what you are trying to breed. When I go to someone's island and they have a lot of flowers planted together, I only water where there's space for a new flower to pop up.
