I just wanted to let the refugee peas know that the David's Tea Adevent calendar is for sale right now. They usually sell out in a couple of hours. So if you want one this year get it soon. www.davidstea.com/home-usa

So is the day's sample enough to make one cup of tea? I have been wanting to try a variety of loose leaf teas and just haven't taken the plunge. This may convince me!

I'd say you can make two cups of tea or a small pot with each sample. It's quite generous. In past years they have packed the tea into the tins to the point it almost explodes!

I ordered a few as it arrived online this morning. I'm bringing one to my dd at university in a few weeks as part of a care package. She has exams during December so a new surprise cup of tea each day will be a nice diversion ETA: last year they sold out super fast and the demand was huge. I did read on Davids Tea Twitter account that they have more this year but I would order ASAP.

So tempted to get this for DD... but at least one little sister would be envious if big sister had her own special advent calendar and there wasn't one for her.... Hmm.

Okay you ladies convinced me I need to order NOW! Just ordered her one and a mug as well, so I could get free shipping. Plus it will make a nice birthday gift.
Thanks for the heads up!

I know Ashley. I didn't order one for my youngest son and he loves tea but I don't think he would like some of the flavours. I did buy a few Wagjags-$15 for $30 of Lindt chocolates. I'll head down to the outlet in Niagara and get him an advent calendar of yummy chocolates.

Ashley, we've bought the $1 advent calendars from Walmart. Little kids are thrilled.
Now that the kids are older (between 14-20), they like the nicer chocolates. I bought the Lindt Wagjags to purchase Christmas chocolate and stocking stuffers.

It's been DS's advent calendar of choice since they were released a few years ago. I'll be picking one up for him (and one for me) tomorrow.

You know, I can usually resist the enabler-ism here at Peas, but I did cave and get this. DH will love it. We're working very hard to get the more stressful portions of our Christmas prep (de-cluttering before the new gifts arrive and doing our shopping)in November, so that we can enjoy our advent activities even more in December, and this will be such a nice tough. (Especially if we can get 2 cups from each sample!) So thank you for the heads up.

I have been wanting to get into tea, but had no idea where to start, so this is perfect. Got one and a nice mug.

OP, thank you so much for the link! It's just perfect for my tea-loving daughter and I would never have known something like that existed. So are there other advent calendars out there for adults? I'd love to pick up something unusual for other folks...

So is it sold out? If not, where is it on the website? I don't see it.

I went on the site and searched for advent calendar and it didn't show any results. Can someone link to it? We don't have those stores here. My 15 year old daughter loves tea. I got a shock last year when I went in Teavana to get her some loose teas to try. I'm a coffee drinker, I had no idea tea could get so expensive!

It's sold out I might go buy on from etsy though it would be perfect for my sister and my niece. My oldest sister who was killed in sept was the family advent calendar purchaser so I don't think my other sister or my niece would be expecting one. I'm hesitant with esty not knowing which shop will be on time. And I can find any others online ( well there's one from Austria but the shipping is 36 euros lol

I had no idea these kind of advent calendars existed either. I knew about candy ones, Lego ones, & Playmobile ones. And homemade activity ones.

I ordered one online this afternoon (along with a bunch of other stuff)... I loved the Cherry Snowcone tea they had this summer, and those are on sale...

Wow, I can't believe these sold out on-line in less than a day. It was just lucky timing I was on the board shortly after the thread post. My 18 year old DD is fond of tea and trying new kinds so this was perfect as a Christmas gift. I got the Advent set and a tea mug. Can anyone give me insight as to why this mug would not be microwavable? Is it because the lid is metal (which of course I wouldn't put in the microwave), or the handle is glass and will get too hot, or is it something else? I didn't see the warnings until after I made my purchase.
