I know some of the peas had mentioned an interest in seeing a tour of my new scrapbook room in our new house. Today, I shared a tour on my instagram stories (also saved in my highlights if anyone sees this later) and a post with a photo of my room. I wanted to share here if anyone is interested! https://www.instagram.com/p/CDEhtNCg22_

I recently started following you on IG and had to comment. Your setup is perfect and you may have finally convinced me that I need some of those Alex drawers.

I recently got the second set because I just wanted even more of them. Plus, super affordable. And thank you for following me

Love all the white, lasteve1 ! So easy to help see every little thing. Kudos to you for doing all the organising because you've somehow managed to find a system to navigate so many things. Seriously, you have your own store! And I don't mean that as a snarky remark at all. ALL the PL cards! The wood organisational items look so neat. Also, I think your scrap room may be bigger than my living room... 😄 But that's on me and my life choices! 🤪 Have loads of fun documenting and scrapbooking in your new space with that lovely view!

Thank you! When we built our house I actually converted the formal dining room from the floor plan to a scrapbook room so it's the size of a regular formal dining room (and the hallway pass-through that connected the kitchen to the dining room was enclosed to be my walk in closet). So we don't have a dining room (we have a breakfast nook in the kitchen that fits a table for 6 so it's fine), but I don't care, I have a scrapbook room! Choices

I love the idea of using those drawers to store projects in progress. Brilliant! Swooning over all the stamp organization.

Great space! I love my space but now I'm jealous of yours. Thanks for sharing it.
ETA: I have a couple of the 12x14x2 short fridge binz. I got mine from amazon. I use them to store my sequins, brads, eyelets and droplets.

You even have room for the sewing machine!

You even have room for the sewing machine! I debated that a lot! The room feels larger/more open without that extra piece of desk for the sewing machine, but I really wanted the space to have it out otherwise I know I won't use it as regularly. Plus, I can easily push it to the side and use that extra space to lay out supplies, etc. while working on projects. So far it's been working well (although, I haven't worked on sewing on fabric projects in ages...).

So far it's been working well (although, I haven't worked on sewing on fabric projects in ages...). I really like the u-shaped desk set up with zones for different kinds of work and accessible storage, and being able to have the sewing machine out. I definitely think it’s more likely to get used if it’s out and accessible. I was looking around my choices - I mean, my home - lamenting the lack of any kind of space I could devote to a craft office. I love my little house and it’s just the right size for us, but the layout and furniture don’t quite work for creating that kind of space. I noted in my journal that you seem to have more storage in that closet that I had in my entire house! Maybe not quite true, but I was feeling hard done by yesterday! Oh well, everything changes eventually, and hubby’s home office that “should be” the main bedroom may one day be my office, if he worked outside of the home again, which would be a very big change to everything in our lives with a lot of trade-offs, so... shrug.

Where did you get those craft binders for cataloguing your stamps? Amazon! They have the standard filofax/AE 6x8 album 6-hole punch size. These are the binders. And this is the paper I used as inserts. (Also, shout out to Amazon making it super easy to pull up anything I've ever ordered even though I bought these over 2 years ago... and they're still available!)

Oh well, everything changes eventually, and hubby’s home office that “should be” the main bedroom may one day be my office, if he worked outside of the home again, which would be a very big change to everything in our lives with a lot of trade-offs, so... shrug. Ultimately I went with adding the extra desk section because I wanted functionality over it looking pretty. I don't have space for my silhouette or my typewriter to sit out, but ideally I can make them easily accessible. Right now the typewriter is just under the desk so I can pull it up if I want to use it, but the silhouette is hiding in the closet :/ I totally understand about not having a ton of space... when I first started to really get into scrapbooking (like doing it regularly, not just occasionally) and looking at what others were doing online I lived in the tiniest one bedroom apartment with my then boyfriend in Manhattan... we didn't even have space for a desk (and we were both students!), I had to keep all of my scrapbook stuff in a box in the corner of the living room and then just use the dining table (which was round and only large enough to seat 2 and also in the living room). Fun fact... my rent in that apartment was only $100 less than my current mortgage payment... and that was nearly 10 years ago, insane! Having this much space & storage is definitely a new thing for me. I had a devoted craft room in our old house (purchased in 2017) but it was a 100 year old house so closet space was practically nonexistent, not only for crafting, but for everything. Hopefully you get your craft room soon!
