Today I cleaned a shelf in the laundry room that has our car cleaning items. I got rid of 5 or 6 things.

Cleared a Shelf Of Doom in the corner of our hallway where we keep shoes and post and chucked 15 non-working pens, found and moved an old Studio Calico kit from about four years ago and shredded/recycled/filed the piles of phone bills and bank statements I had accumulated. I can actually see where my keys are now! "Shelf of Doom" LOL! I purged a bunch of pens last week. I was so frustrated by half working pens. I bought a box of nice gel pens on Amazon for less than $10. I purged more shoes from my closet. The entire bottom area is clean now. I am working on our storage area in the furnace room. I posted about that on the NSBR board.

I need to go back in my closet and purge shoes. I tossed 2 pair and donated 1 yesterday. Giving me ALL the Carrie Bradshaw vibes! Don't worry - I still have plenty! What I purged were old or in dusty boxes.

Day 3: Decor sign, luggage tag (came free with something), plastic printed kids' bookmark. Not hefty stuff - but stuff that's been hanging around in the bottom of baskets and drawers for probably 8 years now.

I had a surprise day and night away yesterday so didn't actually play besides throw some clothes and my toothbrush in a bag per my SO's instructions. We got home about an hour ago and I pulled some cookbooks off the shelves. Found 3 to get rid of which makes up for yesterday and leaves me with 2 more items for today. To find the elusive two, I'm about to hit the socks drawer. I wore some out last winter/spring. Exciting times ahead!

I still need to do more at home, but so far today at work, I have recycled 1 catalog and 3 sets of table tent cards, put aside 1 item to donate, and put a 3 inch thick folder of receipts from 2015 into the shred pile.
So for work, that is a total of 6 lots/items - I'm ahead of schedule! 😂

After lunch, I got rid of 2 more file folders of old paperwork to shred, a damaged hanging file folder, a stack of outdated maps, and a piece of junk mail. I also gave a handheld digital voice recorder to another office. That's an additional 6 items, so the work total is now at 12 items/lots.
My goal is to get rid of 496 items this month at work. I guess if I get desperate, I'll count individual sheets of paper! 😂

Three old skincare products got tossed today. A friend of mine has joined the challenge and we text each other everyday about what we tossed to stay motivated. She's a real minimalist so I'm always surprised that she has anything left to purge. She always finds something, though.

Yesterday was a crappy day and the only thing I could bring myself to do was to clear out my wallet. Popped about ten train tickets in the recycling and found a fiver, which was a nice bonus. Today I have been better and have sorted out the bureau in the kitchen which housed six magazines that I don't need and lots of little bits of paper that should have been recycled a million years ago. Also found the Everyday Explorers Positivity Passport that I had "put away" for safekeeping to do the project in September and then promptly forgotten where I had put it and a pack of parma violets. Now if I could actually find my running earphones that I have misplaced and rummaged/tidied the drawers to try and locate them, that would be nice.
I have lost count how much I have got rid of so far, but we're away for a few days soon so I won't be playing for a bit. Forward planning!

I finished cleaning the storage area yesterday. I was able to get rid of the set of crappy plastic shelving, plus 2 big trash bags of stuff. I also have a box of stuff to donate.
DH was impressed!
After garbage pickup tomorrow, I am tackling the garage.

The sock situation gave me 4 pairs to get rid of, 2 to round up yesterday's count, 2 for today. My SO went through his socks at the same time and found 2 pairs that needed to go. So, I'm good for today! I am definitely tackling this project the lazy way and just meeting the daily requirements without exceeding them. Kudos to all of you powering through and already into the double digits! Charwee Yay on finding your Positivity Planner! That's the lovely aspect of this game: it literally makes room for all the good stuff.

Day 4: One of those baby safety plugs that didn't make the baby equipment purge (my kid is 7YO); a travel speaker; a stamp set; and an ink spot that I had a duplicate of.

I was a little exhausted yesterday, so I went to bed early. I did get rid of 6 books and a stack of newspaper comics, so I am set for yesterday and today!
I'm keeping a running tally for work today - I'll post that when I'm done for the day.

Today I got rid of some towels, a bathrobe, some screws that were sitting on the windowsill and a necklace that my kids have been letting float around the house.
I also cleaned all the windows in my basement. They needed it. Yesterday I cleaned my front door and decided to repaint it red so now I have at least one future project.

Three washcloths and yet another old skincare product got tossed today. Maybe in a few more days I’ll be able to see the bottom of the drawer.

Yesterday I pulled out three ink pads to get rid of, one that doesn't stamp well, and two in colours I don't use and don't really like. I also finished one layout from my pile of 'just needs one more thing' pages.
Work has been crazy busy today and will be for the rest of the week so I'm planning to do some tidying and donating over the weekend.

Day 5: Post-it note dispenser; 2 old cell phone covers; Beanie Baby (one of the McDonalds Happy Meal ones); and a Fisher Price Little People accessory that was apparently hiding when I sold the set at a consignment sale

Taking a few days off because they’re cleaning the carpets at work. Friday and Saturday i’m sure i’ll make it up and then some. Trying to find the mojo to do some decluttering around the house.

Five items for August 5: - a bottle of face serum that I opened last December and only has a 6-month shelf life - a chapstick that does nothing to hydrate my lips - an empty, cracked CD case from who-knows-when/what/where - a glass that recently got chipped - a small decorative container I was gifted but never had any use for and that's just been sitting empty on a shelf, collecting dust

I just saw this post. On Saturday I just donated 4 bags of clothes, does that catch me up to yesterday? lol
Today I can easily do 5 items. All from my makeup desk.
Great idea!

Today I got rid of a bracelet that my girls had lying around, 2 empty bottles, a old hat and a destroyed toy. Or power is out so I didn’t go too nuts.
Tomorrow I think I’m going through the dvds.

Got rid of 6 books today.
Still got rid of more stuff at work today. When I find my tally sheets for yesterday and today, I'll share them. I did shred a big box full of papers I had decided to purge, so that is a victory!

I did a happy dance when the garbage truck emptied my can and took away the 3 huge trash bags! I know my people here will understand.
Yesterday I got rid of 3 picture frames - 2 to trash, 1 to donate.

I deposited 4 books in a little free library today. I'm sorting through my bathing suits and bikini sets tonight and have already found a few that need to go. My daily quota for day 6 is met, huzzah! mikklynn Had to laugh at your happy empty garbage bin dance!

Two nearly empty gallon containers of shampoo and 4 skincare products and body lotions.
Note to self: Reconsider your Ipsy subscription.
