Two nearly empty gallon containers of shampoo and 4 skincare products and body lotions. Note to self: Reconsider your Ipsy subscription. I need to quit Ipsy too! Or at least switch to every other month.

Last time we did this challenge, I quit my Birchbox subscription. I liked a lot of what I got, but a lot of it also went to waste. I cancelled it when I went through all of my product subscriptions and cancelled a few of them as part of my overall purge.

I'm jumping on board today by getting rid of some stuff in the fridge: 3 bottles each with an inch of wine left - decided against polishing them off seeing as they've been there for months 1 half bottle of mulled wine mix - not to our taste 2 expired tubes of aloe vera gel 1 empty salad dressing bottle 1 jar of salsa with enough left for 1 corn chip 1 jar of relish that doesn't look right 2 bottles of homemade stevia extract that tastes revolting 1 gummed up bottle of tomato sauce 1 packet of tofu that expired in June and half a jar of fruit mince left over from Christmas (which I'm going to make into puff pastry triangles with the pastry I found in the back of the freezer.

I really need to check this board more often - or you need to post this on NSBR as well! I've only just seen it, and I would love to "play". Having a thread on which to track my progress will be very helpful. I got rid of a ton of stuff out of my filing cabinet today - mainly old bills and other paperwork. I will count that as my Day 1 - 7, as there would easily have been 1+2+3+4+5+6+7 (28) items that I trashed.
July 1-7 - paperwork and old bills July 8 - old bills x 6, empty ziplock bags, old packet of jelly beans July 9 - cleaned out a drawer in the hall table and threw out: old batteries x 3, stack of bowling tickets, expired credit card, swimming medal, pedometer, old Fitbit, eye drops

I hope to play along. I plan to print off a calendar and just mark the corresponding day for the number of items I clear. Genius! Maybe I should do this as well......

Finally took a garbage bag to my van yesterday. The inability to put groceries in the middle part of my van thanks to my 5 yr old finally got to me. I tossed 6 coloring pages from occupational therapy, 3 goldfish wrappers, 2 mcDonalds small slushee cups, 7 disposable face masks, the empty clorox wipes container, 3 mcdonald’s bags. Back to my classroom and office today.

Aug 7: face care product; make-up bag; Trading Spaces book from the first run of the series; souvenior glass; workout pants that the waistband was holding on by a few strings (I know, but they were sooooo comfortable), a remotes orangizer, and a spin brush toothbrush that didn't spin anymore.

7 items for August 7: - 2 bathing suits left over from yesterday - 2 DVDs I found hiding in my book shelves - 1 glass jar - 1 travel toothpaste that was first used aeons ago - 1 damaged binder my SO added to the pile I'll go through my hiking backpack tomorrow in preparation of our stargazing nights over the next few days (Perseid meteor showers!). Should be able to find a few things in there. I haven't touched that backpack since last year, I think...

I pulled everything off my bookcase this morning, cleaned it all and sorted through my books as I put them back, filling 1 1/2 bags with ones to donate. I also got rid of some old training materials that were stashed in there too.

7 nail care items and makeup samples. I’m starting to wonder if I could finish the whole challenge in my bathroom.

I got rid of 5 different Trading Spaces books during my move - I can't believe I used to like some of those designs! 😂

Yesterday I pulled out all DH's awards and certificates from his Air Force years from the frames and put in his scrapbook. It's a spinoff from cleaning the furnace room - I found a bin of our "stuff". It's a time capsule! It had tons of stuff from DH's childhood that I don't remember having.
All the frames are in the trash.

Aug 8: 2 weekly organizer to do pads that just didn't work for my style; another half used notepad; a checkbook register (I used to keep these for a friend who still balanced her checkbook by hand, but I think she's finally switched to electronic); a kids bracelet that I found on a walk one day and tried to find the owner but no one came forward; a coffee mug; a party pal picnic plate and cup holder; and an old open tube of skincare product.

I haven't checked in here in a few days, but I have been going through stuff.
-Tested all my pens (and holy crap! I had a bunch of them!) and got rid of the ones who were yucky and died or I just didn't like (if they are still good, Im giving them a friend who uses pens in her after school program). -Went through and checked out all my scissors and paper trimmers. I found a bucket of shaped scissors I will donate to the friend with an after school program. -Pulled out all my various adhesives and checked to see if any were clogged. Tossed the E6000 that was a hot mess .
Tonight I am hoping to sort through some paper (I don't think I have much to give away, but Im sure there is something) and ribbons. I've lost count on the things I have culled out, so I am just doing one or two areas a day.

Working in the kitchen again today. 4 plastic containers that are a pain to get in and out of the drawer. 1 set of lovely old silverware for eating fish - I picked this up from a garage sale years ago because it was pretty and it's been packed away ever since. An attachment for the stick blender that hasn't been used in 15 years. A set of saucers with no cups. A small dish with a crack in it. Loving the idea of just finding a few things at a time😊

Today I cleaned out my linen press and got rid of a few things, which is always surprising as I would have said there wasn't much in the cupboard (and there wasn't, but now there's less!) Loving the idea of just finding a few things at a time😊 I really like that part too, it feels so much more manageable.

I haven’t been doing much decluttering, or keeping track, but when I saw this thread this morning I remembered I should record what I had counted yesterday... and then I realized I must’ve been doing the Min game in a dream last night!

Yesterday I cleaned out the bottom of the linen closet and all the hotel/sample shampoo, lotion, and other toiletries. Threw out 51 items, including the plastic cosmetic bag that was holding all the items (many of which had leaked). This stuff was over 10 years old for sure!
Today, threw out a piece of school artwork and an empty box I found in a cabinet. ETA: Today I also went through a huge stack of mail and threw out (recycled) a ton of junk mail and papers!

I also stuck a shelf on freecycle but it’s not gone yet.

*runs in to catch up* Saturday August 8 was outdoor backpack day. Went through both and found 10 items to get rid of + replace: 3 old cereal bars, 2 out-of-date Datrex emergency drinking water pouches, 1 emergency bandage that was unfortunately no longer sterile, 1 out-of-date disinfectant spray, 1 pair of hiking socks that shrunk in the wash (oops, my bad, got the temp wrong), 1 wonky compass that desperately needing replacing (done!), 1 flashlight that also needed replacing (done!). That left me with 2 extra items for Sunday. Sunday August 9 and I let my SO gather stuff. He found: 2 T-shirts, 1 shirt, 2 pairs of underwear, 1 scarf, 1 wooly hat, 1 jacket, 1 shaving cream, 1 travel hair brush, 1 defective packing cube. That's a total of 11 + 2 from Saturday = 13. 4 items are rolled over to Monday. Today, I just felt lazy and too hot (literally) to care much. I had a pouch with some left-over scrapbooking ephemera and chipboard pieces. 10 - 4 = 6 to find. Found 4 chipboard pieces and 6 ephemera die-cuts. I'll roll 4 over to tomorrow's count, no sweat. Me to myself during this challenge:

Loving the idea of just finding a few things at a time😊 Slow 'n easy does it... Yesterday I cleaned out the bottom of the linen closet and all the hotel/sample shampoo, lotion, and other toiletries. Threw out 51 items, including the plastic cosmetic bag that was holding all the items (many of which had leaked). This stuff was over 10 years old for sure! Mmm, leaky lotions! I remembered I should record what I had counted yesterday... and then I realized I must’ve been doing the Min game in a dream last night! Does decluttering in one's dreams count or is it just your subconscious trying to remind you to get busy?...
