I saw earlier today, a video of a montage of Fox clips making fun of/criticizing Biden saying Trump would try to delay the election, back on April 20th. It was clips from April of this year. I cannot find it now. Does anyone know where I could find it? Thanks!! There's a few people I'd love to share it with. Here you go: April 24 ETA: Whoops, I didn’t read well, this isn’t the montage you were looking for.

I would like to see it postponed. I'm not thrilled about either of them so I want to see these guys debate. We don't even know who Biden is going to pick as a VP. We are under 100 days. I my opinion delaying the vote is appropriate. How is a delay appropriate? Nothing in the process so far has been delayed. The conventions are scheduled for the normal time. If it’s helpful to see see Donald Trump loom over Hillary Clinton Joe Biden in a debate and threaten her him with prison memory care assisted living, there’s plenty of time for that. There’s also time for VP selections and VP debates. What interference/delay has happened that’s so inappropriate that we need to take this unprecedented action? Most other countries do the whole process in 100 days. The truly unprecedented action was Trump registering his 2020 re-election campaign on the day of his 2017 inauguration. That’s long enough for me.

I think that Trump’s mental capacity has declined so much in the past 4 years that his team will do anything to prevent a debate. He is incapable of staying on topic at this point. There is also no way he will come out looking good when asked to address the two major topics of the day: the handling of the pandemic and the economy. wezee , the announcement of Biden’s running mate is not unusually late at this point in time, so there is no cause to delay the election for that reason.

Thanks elaine for your civil response. You made some really good points. I didn't think his ego would prevent him from a debate. You are absolutely correct about Biden's announcement of his VP. It wasn't the prime reason I thought should be postponed. BOTH of these men are less than favorable as a choice of a POTUS. That why I curious as to his choice of a VP.

I my opinion delaying the vote is appropriate. This is the reason Trump won in 2016. This is the reason he might win again in 2020. After all that happened and that is happening, simple fact that there are still people who think this way....I have no words. There has to be something to compare two candidates. And debate? Sorry, not sure how any candidate can debate stupid. No, you cannot file this under. “Oh my god! This is why republicans cannot come to this forum” or “People who differ from the opinion of democrats are run down” bullshit. This is not an opinion. It is a universally known fact that Trump is an asshole. A guy who would have been a registered sex offender if he wasn’t white, had money and had Russian connections is the President and we all should consider electing him again? Not just a simple no. FUCK NO! You make some good points. In my opinion Biden isn't a great choice either. It's a sad day for the US when these men are the best each party can offer.

I my opinion delaying the vote is appropriate. You do know that President Obama announced his VP candidate on August 28th, 2008. McCain announced Sarah Palin on August 29th These announcements were delayed because of the financial crisis, I think. Trump announced Mike Pence on July 15th Hillary Clinton announced Tim Kaine on July 23rd Bush announced Cheney on July 25th Gore announced Lieberman on August 8th This is the normal window for releasing the name of the VP. Which Biden says he is going to do next week. You are absolutely correct about the timing of Biden's announcement of his VP. BOTH of these men are less than favorable as a choice of a POTUS. That why I curious as to his choice of a VP.

I tend to agree with the debate statement. He is so off topic. I have a Republican friend who went to see him speak in town in February. She said it wasn't one of his best speeches. I saw it and thought it was no different from most of his speeches. I asked where she was seeing most of his speeches and it was from Fox and I think they tend to filter many of his comments so he looks better than what was actually said. Just listening to him talk about delaying the election was weird. He started talking about Nov 3rd being a great day. Do I think Biden will be perfect in a debate. Nope. But he is a much better person, more qualified, and will handle the pandemic with the thoughtfulness it needs.

In Australia the average campaign lasts six weeks. Any longer than that and we've had enough! The usual American two-year campaign is way too much for us.

This has got to be the most asinine reason to suggest postponing an election. Biden is announcing his VP next week. There is plenty of time for debates, either on line or socially distanced, but I don't think *45 will EVER agree to debate Biden. Honestly, I don't see a reason for debates. The two men are as polar opposite as can be. Do you want a qualified POTUS that works for the country and has the proven skill set to get us out of the mess we are in, or a lying mad king that spends another 4 years enriching himself and his family? PAY ATTENTION! wow gun to a knife fight you liken 'facts' to a gun? seriously?!? you think that responding to your nonsensical post with facts is overkill, somehow? you made some statements that don't have any basis in facts, and they were countered with the ACTUAL facts, and you get butt-hurt. Insert HUGE eye-roll here... ^^^ Trump-support 101, in living color.

wezee, I am older than dirt and I remember the 1972 Presidential election between Richard Nixon and George McGovern. Talk about voting the lesser of 2 evils. At the end of the day you just have to hold your nose and vote for the safest candidate for the short term. In an ideal world there would be 2 equal candidates but that is never the case. I have always voted Republican except for this last election. The most important thing is to VOTE and encourage others around you to vote. Good luck with your decision.

Another here who believes that the 2020 Presidential Debates will be a whole different situation than 2016. trump is much less coherent than he was 4 years ago, I can’t imagine him having the ability to do anything but bluster and revert to name calling. I hope and pray that Joe Biden’s team is giving him ample time to practice keeping a cool head and not trying to out-trump trump with nastiness. If Joe will just take a page from Hillary’s book, and stay calm, present facts and not react to trump’s histrionics, it will give him a prime time opportunity to come across as level-headed and presidential.
I really don’t want to watch but I think I will not be able to look away.

That's what I thought when I saw Trump snorting and blatently calling on Russia to get involved in American politics - on air - in a debate. When he wandered around the stage like a buffoon. Yet, the losers and the gullible saw some white knight in him and gleefully pulled the levers. And the "purists" and Bernie Bros and Susan Sarandons stayed home because they're a bunch of fools too. I hope it's different this time, but Trump has shown he doesn't need any skills, knowledge or composure to get the Pavlovian lib-pwners to vote for him.

Too bad they cannot stay on the same page and tell the same story..... makes is better for us! Trump's trashing of democracy will have consequences far beyond AmericaAnalysis by Luke McGee, CNN Updated 9:48 AM ET, Fri July 31, 2020 On the same day Trump floated the idea of delaying the US election, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo was demanding that Hong Kong hold its own legislative elections on time in September."They must be held," Pompeo said Thursday. "The people of Hong Kong deserve to have their voice represented by the elected officials that they choose in those elections." On Friday, Hong Kong's leader announced the elections would be delayed due to the growing coronavirus outbreak, but the opposition has questioned whether there are political motives at play."The problem isn't just Trump failing to endorse democratic process, it's that he uses the same strategies as undemocratic leaders to undermine the democratic process," said Nic Cheeseman, professor of democracy at the University of Birmingham. Cheeseman says there is a "real threat in Trump sending out a message that he won't stand up for democracy" that less democratic global leaders will take this as a green light to lower their own standards. ** But experts said the consequences of his latest attempt to undermine November's election could be more far-reaching than the damage wrought by the pandemic. "If he loses, he seems to be signaling that he will happily try to burn American democratic institutions to the ground if he believes it will help save himself or help him save face," said Klaas. ** Much more at link: www.cnn.com/2020/07/31/politics/trump-election-delay-global-consequences-intl/index.html

Should we all report to Mar-A-Lago and the all named Towers, all his golf courses, hopefully his insurance premiums are paid, but he would be a long time waiting to play golf, before repairs!!!!
