I'm starting to think that I might just grab a Christmas collection and make my own album. Photo Play's Christmas Cheer collection is totally my style and the idea of doing the whole album for under $30 is appealing. Its not like I don't have other supplies to supplement either. Most of the time my bill is usually around $100 (with shipping and exchange) I am interested in doing this too. I need to find a tutorial as I am not sure I just want to stick pocket pages on rings and call it good. I have never done anything without a premade album before. I picked up the 6.5x6.5 paper pad and a sticker set from last year's Kaisercraft Christmas collection so maybe that could be the starting point.

H&M are starting to roll out their holiday stuff. There are some pretty, modern but elegant things I thought I'd share. Very much on trend with IKEA's moody, minimal, flea market-inspired Vinter 2020 line. For the kraft paper lovers who like a classic woodland print (also in red): Old European city centre inspiration: (also in gold metal Metal trees that are stored flat (yay for those of us living in a small home!): Metal wreath bases: Ceramic snowflake ornaments: TFS sleepingbooty. H&M got their act together and actually opened some stores in NZ rather than just talking about it like IKEA so I might be able to pick up a few things

Concord & 9th came out with a cute trimming die, to supplement their Take a Bough die from last year. They also have a new "encore take a bough die" that allows you to cut the branches quicker....yeah I bought the trimming die! concordand9th.com/products/take-a-bough-encore-bundle

How fun! And as a quilter I love the idea of being able to use fabric in my collection for the cover too. I don't have strong thin paper in such a large size to make the cover but I'm off to search my options! (Well, maybe I should cook the family dinner first... )

Just looked at my previous years albums standing on the shelf. I noticed that Ali chipboard albums get “scratched”, not to the point that chipboard is damaged but the markings are visible in the light. The green with the stars album from a few years back is pretty “bad”. Trying to not make a big deal out of it but I am glad I switched to pleather FJ albums so hopefully pleather would stay looking new longer. Sigh...

I looked through my DD albums this weekend and one of the AE ones broke just from flipping the pages. The spine separated from the chipboard. I've had this happen before, and glued it back together but it didn't hold long-term.
Thinking about what I want to do for DD going forward. So much time and effort goes into these, I want a quality album that's going to last.
Definitely will consider the FJ ones if others have had good experiences with them.

Ali has a LOT more stuff available for individual purchase than I thought she would. Chipboard, pleathers, stamps, etc. Thought most would be sold out.

Thinking about what I want to do for DD going forward. So much time and effort goes into these, I want a quality album that's going to last. I'm just going to mention the large spine holiday binder from Simple Stories that is sold from most retailers for under $20 with paper inserts and some page protectors. I know they're not very modern and trendy but I've been really happy with mine quality-wise. Hope you find your holy grail soon, carolynhasacat! This year's album is from their Jingle All The Way collection:

Some of KP's holiday kit puns are similar to mine. "Oh the virus outside is frightful..."

I'm loving the digital perks:
The digital file of the stamp is super important to me.

I wonder if she’ll offer digitals? She usually does and I assume because she's offering the digitals with the subscriptions, you could expect them...

Shipping rates for the Paper Person shop: US - starts at $4 to $9 depending on weight Canada - $12 flat rate All other International - $16 flat rate Phew, international only went up $1! I will attempt to get the Stink Stank Stunk mini kit ("I made my family disappear" + airing of grievances with Festivus pole) and perhaps a stamp set depending on what's in the stamp offer. The Santa with sunglasses is calling my name! I don't think I need or particularly want more.

Not interested. *slinks back into the shadows* I wanted to like this, but I don’t really care for this debut kit. The shipping will be high with the 12x12 paper. I do appreciate that she’s trying to fill that void of a kit with 12x12 paper, but it’s old stuff. I do think the stamp set is awesome, but I already have a couple of wfh/covid stamp sets. Sigh. I do have my eye on those holiday kits though.

The Santa with sunglasses is calling my name! I don't think I need or particularly want more. I'm hoping for main in color, Stink Stank Stunk (of course), and Merry Merry. 9 stamp sets, but I assume the numbers are one (not super into this year's font), Santa in sunglasses + Warm Weather Wonderland are possibly another set, baking... unless baking is super impressive (especially compared to last year's BUTTER STICKS GALLORE), I'll skip it.. Tradition is nice and could be fun depending on what tiny words fit into the gap. Overall, very happy to have KP (and whomever else is joining her) back and setting an alarm for the 15th.

Has anyone guessed any of the designers? Kelly mentioned 5. I assume we can subtract KP herself and Tina. 3 left. It looks like Salomée might've done the ballerinas for Merry Merry?...

She left it super late but I'm glad we finally got a good look at the holiday kits. And that there's another bah humbug-y mini kit! Anybody else laugh at the new shop's name? Dunder Mifflin reference ("the people person's paper people")!

I like the idea of the Simple Stories album but the cream color bugs me. It makes it hard to match with anything else and in my eyes it just looks dirty. I like a clean crisp white in my DD.

The stamps for the Oct kit and for the main Holiday kit look like they were designed by IACB or Everyday Explorers. I, too, am leery of the cut-apart cards--I don't see how they will be of the same weight as they were in her previous kits, hopefully I am wrong....

Not excited about cut-apart cards. Getting that crinkly glassine bag full of pretties and then shuffling through the eye candy is the best part of unboxing. There is nothing enjoyable about cutting out your own cards.

I'm not excited about the Oct kit - mostly because of the stamp + yeah getting old papers....but 50% + digitals sweetens the deal + 20% off shop purchases ...so I'm gonna have to think about it. I'd definitely going to buy at least one of the holiday kits, with or without a sub....Again like last year, I wish I could pick and choose pieces from each kit. The number of kits & stamps is a little overwhelming. LLPs kit is very similar to past year's, but since I didn't get it, that might be the one I get. I also don't see any of the bits and pieces from the earlier sneak, that were Kelly's designs (not the papers)....nor do any of the colors match to those, so maybe Kelly dropped those? All in all - happy to see these sneaks & that Kelly is opening the shop ++ I hate cut apart sheets too! I always manage to get it a little off and then my cards aren't the same size. I also don't want 12 by 12 papers...I'd be ok with 6 by 8 - I really don't want those huge pizza boxes that 12 by 12 comes in.

The envelopes she used to send her kits in sailed through the French customs unopened, unquestioned. The 12x12 boxes I get from other retailers usually don't. Argh. This is so annoying. It's especially annoying since it looks like her Election 2020 mini kit has 6x8 papers, including for the cut-aparts. I wish she'd gone with 6x8 for all mini kits instead.
