grammadee You're welcome. I figure that between you and Nylene you can find places to use them or give them to grands to play with. Have fun and "get smart" today!

No giving to the grands to play with. I am waiting for my DD to take a bunch of photos of the family with the dog. They all get together on Sundays. Once I get the photos, I can't wait to make some pages.

Happy Saturday! I hope you all are well today. I got the new "Stencil, Sprays & Stamp" YT video is up. Link Here I used Dylusions shimmer sprays and Vicki Boutin stamp and die set. You guys, I loved making these new projects with these three products! I have lots of things to upload to the gallery. LOL! I will be taking a break this week as my dh is on vacation. So, I will post another video the following week. During this break, I am planning to rest and play around with some new ideas. I need some time to create just because. LOL! You know what I mean??? Waving hi to you all and have a good evening!

Good Sunday morning, Pokeys. The sun is shining here again today, but I will be in the house all day, "getting smart" as gramma said. Really looking forward to workshops by Shimelle and Vicki Boutin today. There is also a workshop on layering. Yesterday I was able to put together a couple of two page spreads loosely based on classes, which I shared in the Gallery and in the sharing thread. Not sure if I will actually create anything today, but will definitely be collecting ideas. Already have a list of four or five stories I want to tell about when the girls were here, and I am hoping to get inspiration on how to scrap those. As nylene says, I will definitely be using those diecuts myself, gramma. I need to figure out a way to use the S'mores title. I forgot to buy graham crackers, so we had to make do with naked toasted marshmallows! Maybe if I use your title with the word "naked" it will give the kids a giggle when they see the pages? My plan for this weekend was just to create page kits as the ideas struck me. But who am I kidding? I have no patience !!! As soon as I had everything collected in the bags I just had to start putting pages together... Thanks for the link to your video, kellyr21. It makes me want to pull out my own stencils and sprays and paints and get messy! Have a wonderful week relaxing with your dh. I was planning to quickly prepare raspberries for freezing this morning before class starts. But I am thinking now that if they waited since Friday, they could wait until Monday to make their way into the freezer? I need to do my stretches and eye exercises to get ready for a full day of screen time.

Hello scrappy friends! I can’t believe I haven’t checked in here in so long! I haven’t really come into my craft room at all but I’m in here today printing away! I love the pics of everyone’s layouts and projects! Y’all are so great at making pages and cards! I feel like I used to be that way but I don’t know why I’m not like that anymore. I think I get overwhelmed with the amount of supplies I have. It’s a blessing and curse! nylene yes, I print at home and my pocket pages are 9x12. I’m loving this size so much! I bought a variety of different pocket configurations of page protectors but I have now found my favorite. It’s like BH design A pages. grammadee thanks for telling me about the thread on the GS board about getting back into scrapbooking. I will give it a read!

janesays , I love your pocket pages. It's so nice to see so many elements of a day in the pages. I love the small pockets. I hope you will post more of them as you finish them. I especially like the insert piece with the date. That's a great technique to remember. I am slowly doing some pocket pages, but they take me forever! kellyr21 , I love what you have done with the sprays. I will go watch your video today. It just makes me smile to see how much fun you are having being creative. I know that Cindy is smiling down on you! I hope you continue to enjoy all your new scrapping supplies. grammadee , from what you have posted I think you had a wonderful weekend, learning lots of new techniques. It will be fun to watch as you practice all of them. I saw some of your posts but haven't had a minute to really look at them. It looks like you had a good time. I have finished another Swayzee page that has sat on my table for a week. I have 2 others started, but will probably not get to them until weekend. How can things be so busy when we are retired and sheltering in place?? I'm hoping to get caught up here before I go to bed tonight. Linda , are the hurricanes going to get to your area? I have been concerned for all those in the paths of double hurricanes. kitbop, we were posting at the same time. I'll go see you projects up close in the gallery. Sorry I missed the Hangouts. It was a busy weekend. I hope all you Pokeys are surviving the heat and fires and storms. We had 11 days in a row of 100 degrees or higher. That's very unusual. We are also getting a lot of smoke from fires around us and those blowing in from Calif. I'm spending my time inside most of the time. The smoke is making my allergies worse. I'm sure it will cool off soon and then it will be too cold. Boy, never satisfied!

Good Monday evening, Pokeys! Good to see so many of you posting here. And glad to hear that while justjac and I were off playing on the Scrap Happy site, that some of you were getting together on Google Hangouts. I hope to join you next weekend, but still not sure when dd is coming with her guy. His on line classes start on September 1st, but Fit Set Ninja doesn't open until the 8th, so I think she plans to be here next week so she can work from here and he can do some school work. I think she plans to come Monday after she picks up his Chrome book, but not sure. I have a crop hangover, I think. Sooo much screen time over the weekend. Hard to figure out what to do when I am on my own! Plus I needed to catch up on several jobs in house and garden I had been putting off while I was playing. Tomorrow I am picking up some fresh butchered chickens and so I needed to make space in the freezer today. Plus pick a bunch of beans. Scrapwise, I managed to finish a LO I started yesterday, and put together some page kits for pages I hope to get done this week. Welcome back, janesays. Your pocket pages are lovely. I always have a hard time figuring out how to use the different orientations and sizes. I see that you print photos as you go, so I guess that would help alot. Thanks for sharing them. kitbop, it's good to see you paper crafting again. Glad that the Hangouts got you going. I intend to check out your page and card in the Gallery later. How was your first day back at work, justjac? nylene, no wonder you are lying low. Hot weather and smoke? Hope you get some cooler temps and maybe some rain to clear the air soon. Can't wait to see your Swayzee pages. I don't know where the time goes, either! gramma how are you doing with the smoke in California? And Linda, I hope you are safe from the bad weather down there. Gotta go and get some supper on the table...

Thanks nylene and grammadee - looks like the hurricanes are headed to Louisiana/Texas - they will need prayers especially if the same areas are hit by both. First day of school here for both my girls. It went reasonably well - just a few hiccups.

Hello! And Happy Monday? I'm happy it's over lol. janesays your pocket paged are awesome! I love documenting little moments like that so much. Everything feels heavy and effortful, even good stuff. I have a ton of support and can focus on being grateful, and I'm sure I will get through this. I try to look at the small accomplishments and ignore the big picture. But I hate being this way! This is exactly the way I've felt all year. Like everything is an effort and there is no joy. I'm sorry you two are feeling the same. I finally had to get on some meds for a bit, and they did help. That horrible feeling has lifted some and I feel better. I hope you feel better soon as well! kellyr21 omg I LOVE what you did with that stencil and mists!! So beautiful! Watching your video made me want to just play and make a mess lol. grammadee how were the Shimelle and Vicki classes? Ya'll were giving me FOMO over on that thread lol. I already have quite a few classes I need to finish so I know I didn't need more lol. nylene there are just some people that shouldn't teach. My brother had a 3rd grade teacher that ruined him too. He loved school before her and hated it after until he was finished with it. Poor Alex, he is such a sweet, funny kid. How can anyone not LOVE first graders?! Or 4 year olds pretending to be tigers. Poor Rudy will be in trouble all the time, he's always pretending to be something or someone lol. Well I'm off to catch up on the sharing thread and the gallery. I'm determined to do a better job commenting but man that thread moves fast! Hope you all area having a good night! ETA: I also need to get my layouts posted. I have gotten a layout done a week because of the crops. I've just been lazy about posting lol.

Hello everyone. I've been lurking lately. I might need to join the September challenge because at least then I post semi-regularly. I just had a peek in Flickr. So many beautiful projects! I will try to get some commenting done this week. Work still has Flickr blocked with their firewall which is annoying. nylene I really enjoyed seeing your handwriting on a couple of your pages. kitbop that 16 card is wonderful. kellyr21 I will have to break out my sprays. Your pages are beautiful. janesays I love your pocket pages. Thanks for asking about school grammadee. My school is on a First Nations reserve in Canada and has some autonomy in school decisions. The rest of our province is back to regular classes on September 8 (with whatever enhanced precautions you can have with no increases in staffing or decreases in class size). Our reserve has decided to hold off on starting classes until October. I still have to come to work in person, but we all had to get COVID tests before we were allowed to return. So far I don't have any direction as to what I'm supposed to work on, so my plan is to digitize my old paperwork so I can more easily look people up and to rework my grade 12 English course which was one of my 20 for 20 goals anyway. Enough of that. I really enjoyed the scrap smarter experience on the weekend; although, I agree with grammadee that it was a LOT of screen time. By the end of each day, I was exhausted. I have a few layouts I want to make. I just need to figure out the pictures. While watching, I put together two photo play Christmas card kits. I will share them once I get them photographed. I also did a Book of Me travellers notebook this month. I will share some of it over on kellyr21's thread.

Happy Tuesday! With no video this week, I felt a little lost but then I realized lost is good! I just floated through my day and worked on a TN page. Then, my dh needed me to do some online shopping for a new computer. Ours is giving us signs that she is on her last leg. So I found one at Staples on sale. FYI- I started a "Dress Up With Me Monday" thread on the other board and it was so inspiring and fun. I invited everyone to wear at least one thing that makes them feel good. They did and the comments were so good. If you all want to join me, I will post a new thread this Monday. nylene- Thanks for the support and I know Cindy would be smiling to see all my projects. Boy, I miss her!!!! Whew! Ok, your painted flowers are so sweet. If you ever try the ink sprays I think you might smile out using those, too. justjac- I hope being back at work is not to bad. Wishing you the best and I hope you can still find the time to play with us. kitbop- Thanks! I loved making these projects with all three of those fun supplies. joyfulnana- Yes, those mist are a little messy but for us crafters, messy is good! LOL! Glad you enjoyed it!

justjac , I hate to hand journal, but force myself once in a while. I used to have beautiful handwriting and printing (Elem School Teacher) but I have become so shaky and I lack control with a pen. I get so discouraged that it doesn't look good, that I go back to typing.I'm glad you and grammadee had a wonderful and educational weekend. I'm afraid I am not daring enough to do a lot of new techniques. Maybe I need to be shaken out of my comfort zone. LOL I hope your school year goes well and that you stay safe! kellyr21 , I have enjoyed all your new scrap supplies and everything you have created with them. I have some TH Oxide sprays but have just done a few spatters with them. I will have to pull out some stencils. Thanks for all your instruction. I just saw your last post. I saw the green spray one on the Featured yesterday, too. joyfulnana and kitbop , and Linda , your descriptions of a heavy feeling and no joy is exactly how I have felt for over a week. I know it is from not seeing friends, not getting out of the house, and just the bad news on every channel every day. I feel really grumpy too. I am hoping that the feeling will leave soon. I think I was excited about Cousin Camp, and after it was over there was such a let down and a feeling of missing the kids even more. Today was better because I was able to spend time scrapping. I hate this feeling. janesays , it's nice to see you checking in. I don't remember where you live, but I hope you are out of the range of storms and fires. gramma , I am blown away by the pages you have done this month. Those paper piecings and titles are terrific. Were those baby photos grandchildren? I'm looking forward to doing my "Doggie" page when my DD gets me the photos. Thanks again for the cut files. LisaDV , thinking of you today. I hope things are looking up for you. I miss seeing your avatar pop up. Take care of yourself. msliz , I love your pages in the gallery with all the strips. Are they branding strips or just paper strips. I think I may cut up a bunch of my scraps into strips to just have ready to do something similar. Cute pages. grammadee , I finished the Baseball page of Swayzee, but haven't copied it to post yet. Thanks so much for the baseball elements, your beautiful card and the pretty Fall card paper. I hope to post the layout tomorrow. I have a thank you card ready to send, but need to get a stamp for Canada. Hang in there, everyone. These are strange times.

joyfulnana - I did move my We Create spot to next year. I am off work the weekend of the online crop and need to get some pictures printed and a rough plan on what I would like to work on. I hope to participate! I have been busy on my days off working on my Nurse Portfolio. It is due September 1st and was lacking some points with all the restrictions. I emailed a few people at work and had the rest of the points I needed to maintain a level 5. I got my portfolio all completed today and will meet with the Director of Nursing this week to get it all signed off and turned in. I am going to have to celebrate! Then start planning for next year. I was wanting to relax and start a painting I ordered online. It is a paint by number and it is hearts all over the canvas. I have been watching the Eco-challenge that is on Amazon and catching up on a few things online. I hope to prep my painting for my easel so hopefully when I am off this weekend, I can work on it. Then I need to get some sleep. I hope everyone is doing good!

knutschen, it's so nice to see your smiling face pop up. Congrats on getting your portfolio completed. I don't know much about the program, but does that have to be done each year? Your painting sounds like a nice relaxing activity. I hope you will show us what you are doing. When is the We Create scheduled for next year. I hope we are in a better condition as far as the pandemic so you can actually attend. Take cared of yourself. It's always great to "see" you!

Good to hear from you, knutschen . Congrats on getting that portfolio completed! My dd is an RD and she needs to keep up with something like that to keep her credentials up to date. It is a lot of work to show how much work you have done! I hope you will have some time to play, now. I forced some photos and other elements together and finished this page this morning. I had a vision for it that was MUCH different from this one, but this is how it turned out. Beat the Heat! by Gramma Dee, on Flickr Then I picked up another kit I had put together over the weekend with the goal of figuring out what I could do with it tomorrow, and everything just flew out of the bag and onto the page like it all belonged there. (Of course I had to do the cutting and gluing, but YKWIM?)
Nothing very artsy, but two stories and a bunch of photos on some pages...

Good Friday morning! The sun is shining and the barometric pressure has not hit the tank yet (supposed to get there Sunday) so we are feeling bright and not too achy this morning. I picked beans between showers yesterday, and need to "do something" with them today. Also, the zucchini and cukes are piling up in my veggie fridge in the garage. The kids call it the "beer fridge" but this time of year, the veggies take over. I have been on a scrapping binge, though, and hope to finish one LO today so I can say I did eight-in-a-row, and claim points for the Four Square challenge TWICE! This one won't take too long today. I played around with some alcohol inks yesterday on a transparency, and I want to use the results on this page without overwhelming them and the photos with other elements. Hoping to play a bit again on Sunday during the Hangout session with joyfulnana. Still have a few photos from that one week with the girls that I want to see on a couple of pages. Hoping to see you there, knutschen! Those on line get togethers have been wonderful! Of course I am also hoping to see nylene and justjac, and gramma and msliz and kitbop and as many other peas who can join us! The classes last weekend were energizing, but these casual on line meetings are fun and relaxing. And I have one more LO I have to do before Tuesday, but won't be able to share it until SKETCHtember starts: it's my sample for day one. Thinking it should be a back-to-school or a fall page, but I am still working on summer pic's and my summer papers and supplies have exploded all over this room. Maybe I will find the photos I had from dgs's home schooling in the spring...

I stayed home today, and plan to get scrappy later today.
But first, we had to conquer a) a covid test b) a doctor's appointment for DS (21)
Yes, we're in the middle of a covid quandary here: DS started with sore bumps on his fingers, and a day later got a rash all over his back and chest, some on his arms and feet. Apparently, these are signs of covid. He had a test yesterday morning, as did DH who is symptom free. I went in this morning for a test, and stayed home from work because the psychology of this situation was making me feel ill. DS is heading to the doctor soon, because this rash is something else! It's only slightly itchy. He doesn't have allergies. He doesn't have a fever.
Just please everyone, hope it's not covid!

Oh no, kitbop! How soon will the results be available for his test? What does the doctor think about the rash? I am sure, as a nurse, you have researched all things horrid and mundane that it could be, but it DOES sound like the reaction dh had to penicillin years ago. But then again, it also sounds like the case of foot & mouth disease that dgs had when he was two. So hoping it is something non contagious and treatable!

Oh, no, kitbop. I am praying that you will ALL be Covid free. I hope you get results soon. My granddaughter was told it would be three days and it was 8 days before they had the results. They didn't tell her to quarantine until they got results, but she did. Her manager at work had Covid and came to work several days coughing and hacking before he got his positive results. And we wonder why it is still spreading. Hugs to you and your DS. I hope they find a quick remedy for his rash.

nylene, the STAR clinical ladder which I call my portfolio is an optional program. If you participate, you get a lump sum for what level you completed. I have been doing a little something for myself and then saving the rest to do updates to my house every year. This year I was able to get my foundation repaired and now my front door and storm door shut properly! I guess I had extensive termite damage underneath my house that was causing me some issues. Then they filled some cracks in my foundation to prevent them from getting bigger. kitbop Praying that you and your family is healthy! grammadee I had forgotten about the google hangout! I do hope to join someday. Today, I will probably go swimming with my sister. I just hope the weather cooperates. DH is working this afternoon so I hope to get a few things done. I hope to be able to start on my painting. I got a base made out of cardboard so hopefully I can get it to fit on my easel. Work is crazy. I found out that I helped admit a patient that ended up being positive for COVID. A couple of co-workers have gotten it. One if back to work and she still doesn't wear her mask at the desk! GRR! I wasn't notified about the patient I was in contact with other than a co-worker found out from someone. I feel like infection control isn't doing as good of a job as they should. That was a couple of weeks ago and I haven't had any symptoms. I always do my best to wear my mask and goggles.

Well ladies.....my last post for this thread is
I’m all caught up on my project life album!!!!
I’ve spent the last few days printing away and trimming and placing photos in their pockets. What really sped up the process was that I didn’t have many photos taken in June and July. Those months combined are only a two page layout. But it looks so pretty and I feel so accomplished! What I’m doing now is going back and adding all the fun stuff. Labels, embellishments and stories and I’m starting on that right now.
I’m going to try my best to keep up with it now each month and not have to play catch up again. That was not fun. And now I’ll get to move on to creating traditional layouts and other things. Yay!!

I’m going to try to stick with this layout for September. I picked all of the cards I wanted to use for the month from the monthly kit that I get. Now, I can just print 3x4 pics. Hopefully this will keep it easy for me. It seems like it should...I’m not crazy about these colors but we’ll see how it all turns out 😊
