These are your August Challenges. Please see Rules thread for scoring.
Challenge #1: Meet any of the August Challenges listed not in this thread. These include: *August Donna Challenge *August Pokey Peas Challenge *any Sketchy Saturday challenge posted in August *any card challenge posted in the Cardmaking & Stamping board
Challenge #2: FOUR SQUARE. August is the 8th month, so let's play around with those numbers. Think of this as your very own MINI Layout A Day challenge. Here are the steps: *Choose ANY FOUR CONSECUTIVE DAYS, and create a layout on each of those days. Each layout worth 1 point. Four created in four days is worth a bonus of 20 points.
Challenge #3: OCTA challenge. Include at least one octagon on your project (1 point per octagon). Include EIGHT of something on your project.

#4 Be Present | Grab 1 point for a creation about summer 2020. Grab 1 bonus point for something that happened this month. Grab another bonus point if it happened the very week of your creative play.
#5 Maximalist | Create using at least 5 brands/manufacturers. If you can make it 8 or more, take 1 bonus point.
#6 Minimalist | Create using less than 5 brands/manufacturers. If you can make it 3 or less, take 1 bonus point.
#7 Ghouls & Baubles | Make a project about/for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas or any holiday taking place in autumn/early winter (spring/early summer for the Southern hemisphere).
#8 Time Travel | Make something related to the past, must be at least 10 years ago to qualify.
#9 Use Your Words | Journal your heart out. 1-25 words = 1 point, 26-50 words = 2 points, 51-75 words = 3 points, 76-100 words = 4 points, 101+ words= 10 points

#10 Back to School - many schools go back this month, some next month - do a school layout of any sort - preschool to college, current or past or even reflecting on what you think this coming year might end up looking like
#11 Pandemic - it's still not over so let's keep on documenting it
#12 August is my Birthday month so let's scrap birthdays or make birthday cards

#13 Rock Those Rectangles - Use rectangular photos OR a rectangular page size (8.5x11, 9x12, 6x12, 3x8, TN, etc.) cardmakers, any size rectangular card or rectangular design/embellishment on the front of a card will count. #14 Be There Or Be Square - Use square photos OR a square page size (12x12, 8x8, 9x9, 6x6, etc.) cardmakers, any size square card or square design/embellishment on the front of a card will count. #15 Doodle doodle doo! Doodle on your LO for 1 point. Doodle on multiple embellishments for an extra 5 points. #16 Color your world! Use lots of fun, bright colors on your LO, card, or project for 1 point. #17 Scrap a page from an unfinished album. 1 point per page that goes in the same album. 5 LO's, or more, add 5 bonus points! #18 Something old, something new! This challenge can be done two different ways. You can either combine something old with something new, OR you can use something really old, and make it new again...just by using it, or by changing it in some way. 1 point for either one, and an additional 5 points if you do both! #19 Dot...dot...Goose??? Use enamel dots, puffy dots...if they are circular embellishments that look like DOTS, use them up! 1 point for each set of 3 of the SAME product...so 3 enamel dots=1, 6 enamel dots=2 points; 3 pop dots=1, 3 puffy dots=1, etc. #20 ENLARGE your memories! Must be larger than 4x6 for 1 point. #21 Shrinky dink! Shrink those photos! Use at least 2 photos on one page that is 4x4, or smaller. 1 point for every 2 smaller photos. #22 Use your PL cards!!! If you scrap PL, that's perfect for this challenge. If you DON'T, that will make this more fun! Use as many PL cards on your LO as you can. You may alter them by cutting them in half, cutting stuff out of them to use as embellishments...just make sure to share a pic of what the card looked like if you cut something out of one. 1 point for each card you use! #23 It’s AUGUST! Use the letters A U G U S and T in your title. Take 1 point for using all of the letters, as long as they are used in any words of your title. Take an additional 5 points if you actually use the word AUGUST in your title. #24 SMILE! This one is SUPER easy...scrapbook something that makes you smile. Flip through your photos and take the first pic that really brings a smile to your face. 1 point per pic. 5 additional points if it's your OWN smile!

#25 Spend It! Get those Christmas papers that are coming out now for your December documenting. Don't forget fall - Halloween - Thanksgiving papers, too. This is the best time of the year to scrap (says me!).

#26 You've Been Carded! Since many of the challenges involve layouts, this one is for those of us who are primarily card makers. Earn 1 point for each card you create this month. If you aren't normally a card maker, take a one-time bonus of 5 points for creating a card.

#27 Sally sells seashells... Use alliteration in your title. 1 point for every word that starts with the same letter. IE: Perfectly pooped pup =3 pts.
#28 That's SO punny! Use a pun in your title, embellishments or journaling. 1 pt. for every pun used on our LO.

Thanks joyfulnana, I was feeling too much encouragement to shop!!! #31 cut it up - 1 point every item of fussy cutting #32 Tear it up - 1 point per torn edge #33 Mess it up - Mixed media - 1 point for ink, 1 point for paint, 1 point for gesso, 1 point for mist etc. etc. #34 Stick it up - 1 point PER sticker TYPE used from this list: Thickers, flat stickers, puffy stickers, chipboard stickers, word sticker strips. Only 1 point for a sticker (ie if you use a word strip from a package of thickers you can claim the point for EITHER word strip, OR thicker). So this will be max 5 points/layout if you use all the sticker types. #35 Stitch it up - any type of stitching, 1 point per colour of thread or pen

#35 It's about TIME. Include a photo of a clock or some other time piece on your page. (See August Photo challenge). OR include a clock diecut or stamp on your project OR use clock pp. OR include a schedule of a particular day or a "normal" day for you on your project (or an imagined schedule to put on a card for someone retiring?). Meet ANY THREE of these prompts, and claim a BONUS of FIVE points per page or card.

Speaking of time ...
#36 Bygone Days - Use a product from the past that might not be on trend any longer or is at least five years old. For example: brads, staples, paper piercing, old stamp sets, etc. Claim one point for each bygone product used. Claim five bonus points if you use at least three bygone products on a single project.

#38 Masked Marvel - Scrap photos of yourself and/or your family and friends wearing masks.
#39 Plastic Fantastic - Take a point for each different type of plastic element on your project eg. Plastic letters, pocket, clip.
#40 Generations - Take one point for each generation represented in your photo. eg. If the photo is of you and your child and your parent, take three points. Your sister and nephew, take 2 points.
#41 The Great Outdoors - Scrap a photo that was taken outdoors.
#42 Playing Games - Do a layout about the games you're currently playing on your own or with your family eg. card games, board games, jigsaw puzzles, Animal Crossing
#43 Flags & Banners - include flags or banners on your project. Bonus point for using both.
#44 Handmade - Include something you made yourself on your layout eg. journal card, tag, banner
#45 Home Sweet Home - Do a layout about your home. It could be your current home, or your childhood home, what you love about it, renovations you've done. You could even do a layout about your dream home.
#46 All That Glitters - Use glittery or shiny elements on your project - glitter, gems, gold or silver. 1 point for each different item.

#49 Symbolic 8 | The number 8 stands for infinity and constant flow. Work one of these into your project: use the actual words (nouns or adjectives), represent/use something related to these concepts (wedding, Toy Story, ocean/sea, water, waves, meditation, etc.).

#50 August recipe challenge - Corn on the Cob! - 5 points for 3, OR 10 points for all 4 1. colour - yellow! 2. lumpy and bumpy - texture somehow - emboss, use twine, use pop dots 3. boil it up - make a page or card that include water - beach, bath, waves, splashes, whatever! 4. lots of salt and butter - sprinkle something - like splashes of mist, sprinkles of sequins of enamel dots, doodled dots, or polka dots in your pp
#51 Random Icons - 1 point per "random" icon - llamas, telephones, feathers, emoticons, chandeliers, ice cream trucks - all those hard to use (for you) sticker/chipboard icons!
#52 Icons of the month - cameras. 1 point.
#53 Use your punches or manual die cutter. 1 point per *different* punch/die used.
