Absentee mail in ballet here. It’s my only option, as I live outside the US. But it’s how I Have normally voted for the past 2? 3? elections.

I just completed my mail-in primary ballot. I usually vote in person, but I’ve requested a mail-in election ballot also. Not sure what I’ll do just yet. That's me as well; our whole family (DH, DD, and DS - who will be at college) has filled out the absentee ballot form. But I like voting in person, so I may do that - we'll see what things are looking like closer to election day.

DS dropped off our primary ballots. We will either mail or drop off our general ballots.
I use USPS informed delivery. The last day's mail I received was Tuesdays. Trump's crony who he put in charge of the post office is definitely practicing slowing it down.

I'll vote in person - my state finally has early voting so I may opt for that.

I will crawl across glass, naked, over a bed of tarantulas to vote in person for Joe Biden.

In person.
I hadn’t thought about this before and I feel a little crazy saying this, but does anyone have concerns about the post office now that trump cronies are in charge?

My state will only allow in person. Absentee voting is a minimum age that I'm not. Or your have to say that you will be away for the entire early voting period and election day AND the ballot has to be mailed to wherever you will be. I'm so angry about this.

If the trump virus conditions remain the same, I will do early in-person voting. I have done this the past couple of years and like the ease of it.
Prior to that, I voted in-person on Election Day. I took my kids in the booth with me and tried to instill a sense of social responsibility. Sadly, my DS will be 3 weeks shy of his 18th birthday. He is, however, insisting and explaining to his progressive Bernie/Buttigieg/Yang supporting peers why they must vote for Biden.
I plan on taking a personal day off and helping the Democratic Party wherever I’m needed. I will make calls, help at the polling stations, give rides. I’ve helped in the past, but never for the entire day. This time, I am all in!!
Hopefully the trump virus will not force me to shelter in place on Election Day and ruin my plans.

I'll mail in my absentee ballot as I always do. I don't understand the push back to mail in voting at all.

How are most of you voting? I am on the permanent mail-in list, but I usually drop off my ballot at the local library. I usually drop mine off at the polling place, but I was told they won't be opened this year--so will probably have to mail it in.

My DD will be a first time voter and we are hoping to vote early and in person, as a family. Our state is on an uptick of covid cases, so we decided to see where we are on October 1, and we will either commit to in person, or request mail in ballots then.

I'm in Oregon so I'll vote by mail, probably dropping my ballot off at the post office. Here in Oregon voting by mail officially became the law in 2,000.

This chart shows every state and how they each vote by mail. Applying for the application is different. VOPP: Table 14: How States Verify Voted Absentee Ballots4/17/2020 This table is part of NCSL’s Voting Outside the Polling Place report. This table details all states' statutes on verifying absentee ballots. Note: The federal Help America Vote Act (HAVA) places additional identification requirements on first-time voters who registered by mail. That information is not included in the table below. www.ncsl.org/research/elections-and-campaigns/vopp-table-14-how-states-verify-voted-absentee.aspx

DS dropped off our primary ballots. We will either mail or drop off our general ballots. I use USPS informed delivery. The last day's mail I received was Tuesdays. Trump's crony who he put in charge of the post office is definitely practicing slowing it down. Our mail has been hit or miss for about two weeks...I've talked to a couple of other friends who are having the same issue. One went in and talked to someone at her PO and they told her there were delays because a lot of workers and carriers are out sick with covid. This could very well be true, and I've never been a conspiracy theorist, but I think we'd all be deluding ourselves to think that the Postmaster General, a top Trump contributor, might not already be making attempts to slow down the mail and create a general mistrust in the ability of USPS to handle our mail-in ballots. They will disenfranchise us in any way they think they can possibly get away with.

If allowed, I will vote in person. I always forget to send my ballot in.
Plus, there is a polling site on my way home from work if I vote on the day of.
If i am needed for an election judge, I will vote early in person

They will disenfranchise us in any way they think they can possibly get away with. our mail in NY has been a mess since March. We've had problems since the beginning of covid and it's just starting to improve, but not back to normal yet. We had mail in voting for school budget/school board elections and it was a disaster. Apparently, there was an envelope shortage, so ballots were delayed due to that. Then they were delivered 1-2 days before the election, without enough time to mail them back in normal times. Gov Cuomo extended the time to receive the ballots and I think even the post mark, but I received mine in time to drop it off so don't remember the details. I will be voting in person, though I'm not happy with the changes they've made to that either. We now have electronic keypad sign ins. No ones signature looks the same on them as on paper. What was wrong with the sign in book?

What was wrong with the sign in book? Social distancing and they would have to clean the pens and the books etc. this was last year, before the pandemic. If people are concerned about sharing pens, they can bring their own ink pen to use (I always have one, especially for germy places like dr offices). The electronic keypad either has to be touched by everyone or the special stylus does. It isn't any safer than pen and paper and the change locally had nothing to do with the pandemic. It is likely just part of the "modernization" of voting in NY. I've had more issues with the scanned ballots than I ever did with the levers, but hey, progress. I have no problem with allowing people to vote by mail (or absentee ballot) where the infrastructure is in place, but I also think that we can open in person voting safely with precautions - masks, plexiglass, distancing, hand sanitizer, etc.- for those who are comfortable doing so.

I clicked mail-in/mail-in since that is what I have been planning for the last few months. However my thinking is beginning to change. I may take the risk and vote in person to make sure my vote counts. But I don't really trust that either.

I haven’t decided yet.
I think I want to vote in person but I’m not sure it will be available so I’ll probably drop my ballot off so I’m sure it gets there. I have off that day anyway.

kels99 MichyM (and anyone else voting by mail)...Please mail your ballots early! We’ve never had a president actively messing with the postal system to screw with the election before!
