Last month was brutal in my area. Only last week did we get a few things labeled 0720. Hopefully things will get back on track this month.
We're losing three stores in the Denver area. One had a great craft section and the other one was really bad. I was surprised that one wasn't on the first list.
The other two in my city are safe.

I went to the one in San Jose and it was so sad. The craft section was empty. Half the shelves were totally bare. Lots of people shopping but nothing new in the crafting section.

A couple months ago my closest store along with four or five other closest stores were closing. Last night I was checking the hours for one of the two stores 1+ hours away that were staying open. Both of those stores are now closing too I’m beyond sad.

As posted in last month’s thread: Next round of store closings listed on the company website here.

For as little new items at mine, I’m surprised hat they aren’t on the list.

For as little new items at mine, I’m surprised hat they aren’t on the list. Even my stores that are in the top 10% for crafts are getting little for crafts. They buyers just haven't been purchasing enough in the craft area to keep up with demand. The good news is that lots of stuff is getting cleared out of the store. Hopefully soon the shelves will be filled with mostly newer items in the next few months.

My stores are bare bones...I haven't been getting much...it looks like they literally clearanced and sold 70% of their store's stock. One store got in a couple project paper pads and another got in some more PL (that's gone up in price again) but not much else. As far as I can tell, some of the reason for this is that their now all getting their stock from Dallas and that the Arizona warehouse has now finished closing...could be that they just don't have enough to go around to all of the stores until they get used to shipping everywhere from one location again.
I found out that they've started (and completed the selection process of) round 2 of store closures. They ended up closing fewer than expected because many landlords were able to be worked with and lowered TM's rent. My 2 closest stores were both going to close but because the bigger of the 2 managed to get a rent reduction literally at the very last second, they get to stay open but the other store is now in liquidation (that's the store I would have expected to go first if my state was hit with closures so I'm not completely surprised...I wasn't at all expecting the other store to be considered, but it sounds like they're targeting high rent locations less than they may be targeting just the lowest performers).
I'm relieved by the one store staying open but I'm dismayed by the lack of merchandise. I want to support TM but I can't buy what they don't have. I've also seen on IG that Ross is getting some Heidi Swapp planner stuffs, so it could be that some of the other discount retailers are going to stock some crafts after so many years of not carrying very much of it at all. It has been very sad to walk into the stores and see them look like they're in the final stages of going out of business with almost nothing left on the shelves and I'm honestly nervous that they could go under completely very soon.

my closest store is still okay - I haven't been there since Christmas though - it's a bit of a drive and we only ever went when we were in the city anyway and...that just hasn't been happening due to Covid. We would have gone this weekend or next for back to school shopping in a normal year but my girls are both doing virtual this year and we're not doing a back to school shop

I'd love to visit my TM, but I am avoiding everything non-essential until we have a vaccine and things are better.
I hope they will survive until then.

The store closest to me is staying open, but I haven't been there since sometime in early February...and have no plans to go back anytime soon. Hope they make it!

I would love to go, but the nearest one to me, that town is having rapidly increasing numbers of cases. Given the dig and search (touch everything to see what’s behind it) nature of shopping at TM, it’s a no go for me right now. I wish they had online/curbside!

I haven’t made it in for a couple of weeks.
I just saw the list of the second round of closings. Most are ones that I have only been to once or twice, but one of them in the second round IS a location where I have shopped more. At least the one where I shop the most hasn’t made the hit list yet.

I'm not sure what saved them but he did say their rent is really high since it's a new shopping center and they really have to have high sales to make up for the rent.

They have the most business, but I can see that area being higher in rent. The one by me had low rent, but it was also in a rougher area. The Vickers' manager came from that store.

I haven't been for a few weeks (been out of state) but the stores around me were looking really sad before my trip. They have signs up in most of the aisles saying not to worry that the buyers are hard at work. It just takes time to get everything moving again. Our state was only shut down for a month, but I know other states have had the shut down for much longer and TM is having to work with all 50 states (I am assuming) for buying and selling.

Looks like my Colorado stores I visit are hanging in there. Really there is only one. There is one in the mountains as well and like to visit and it's still staying open. whoot whoot. But I haven't been in awhile.

I'm in Washington state and they have closed or are closing most of the stores. Looks like out of 14 stores all but 3 are closing. It is very sad. I also wonder how now that they have so few stores if they will get as good of deals from the manufacturers? If you are buying for a large number of stores you are going to be able to get some good deals. I wonder if only buying for a fraction of the stores will hurt their deals and what they can offer.

I’m up by Lynnwood and see the only ones near me are in Puyallup and Olympia. Both much too far for me to just stop by and browse. When my dd was in 4-H, Puyallup would have been doable a couple time a year. We would be down there for state fair or dog shows. Of course not now

My TM had a bunch of Jillibean clear stamps and two different sets of their papers. Nothing spoke to me, so I left empty handed.
I have been watching some YouTube videos though and have spent a lot of money on Dollar Tree ribbon. I have several wreaths to create for fall and Halloween.

I worked right down the street from it. I didn't even know it was there for years. When I did see it, I couldn't believe and dark and hidden it was. Have you been to the one down in the Highlands Ranch area? It's newer (probably less that five years old, I think) It's at the end of a strip mall. It's HUGE.. and nice (or it was the last time I was there) The one in Silverthorne is really big too!! I was just at that one about a month ago I guess. Not much on scrapping though at this point of time.

I went last month (we don't have one near us and had to go to another city that happened to have one) and was so frustrated by the people going the opposite of the arrows in the aisle and getting up in my face AND not wearing masks that I left and didn't get anything. I have no idea when I will be near one again.

There is also a newer one off of Arapaho that I think is closing. It was huge, nice, and had a great craft aisle originally.

Thankfully we have a mask mandate and stores have it posted and now most people are wearing them.
