Just don't get complacent. People were complacent in 2016 and then didn't turn out to vote for a candidate they weren't particularly excited about. A lot of people are not particularly excited about Biden. They (we) need to go vote anyway.

GO VOTE ANYWAY. Get your friends and family to vote. If we don't vote, thinking, Oh, there's no way that man will win AGAIN, I don't need to vote! Look where that got us. Pandemic, hundreds of thousands of Americans dying from COVID b/c that asshat is clueless. Ugh.

Well I hope he’s right this time too.
And I hope people completely ignore this and GO VOTE ANYWAYS. Because people listened to all the hype about Hillary being a shoe-in and they didn’t show up to vote and now we have stupid Donald Trump.

Oh I’m still voting. There’s no way I would not play my part in this! I'm not voting day of because presidential election is only voting day in my local yocal area that actually draws crowds. I will be voting by mail, as will my kids, but we (DS) will be hand delivering them to the clerks office/post office is in the same little building with their operation windows probably six feet apart. There is an USPS drop box a little closer to home and I trust the USPS but may as well go the extra mile (or two) and deliver it directly to insure we Get.him.out.

Vote like our life depends on it because, as the massive mishandling of the pandemic has shown us, our lives DO depends upon who we vote into office. If Trump gets in and we die in large numbers, GOP will echo 'it is what it is'.

My vote won’t count as far as determining the election because DT is going to win WV no matter what.
But I will vote for Biden anyway, because I want my voice to count in the overwhelming popular vote in favor of Biden. We want the popular vote to be outright embarrassing to trump, and I will vote early, by mail, or in-person—whatever it takes to add me to the Biden column.

If nothing else, if you are a woman, this year marks the 100th anniversary that women got the right to vote. That happened on August 18, 1920 in the USA. Think about all of the work and suffering the suffragettes had to go through to finally get us this right. And go out and VOTE! Think about what life was like for women during that time and what women had to put off with before they got the power to vote. There are two great movies about the suffragettes. "Iron Jawed Angels" is about the American movement and "Suffragette" is about the British movement.
I've voted in every Presidential election since I legally have been able to. And I always think of these women when I do.

It may have been even worse in England ... I’m not as familiar with their struggle for the vote, but I know there was violence and prison involved there, as well.

Right! Fingers, eyes, toes, nipples, everything crossed!!! Just how long are yours? Can't cross mine. It’s more of a tap tap than a cross. But it’s the thought that counts.

I'm not sure if I'd rely on a guy who predicted that Walter Mondale would beat Ronald Reagan. Reagan's victory was by one of the largest margins in history.

The frightening thing is that Trump and his die hard supporters won't accept the validity of any election he loses. The Trumpers I know are talking non-stop about supposedly rampant voter fraud. That's the narrative they will go with because Trump is on track to lose.

ETA: but if the House terms expire in early January, it shifts back to the Senate and the Longest Serving Majority Senator . from the looks of it, it's Orrin Hatch (according to Google).

Orrin Hatch is no longer in office. He served 1977-2019, so he served the longest term of any Republican senator, but is no longer in office. Mitt Romney was elected to fill that seat.

I've voted in every presidential election since I turned 18 and will of course vote this year as well. I can't understand how anyone could be comfortable enough with a prediction NOT to vote.
This election needs to be a complete blow out because we all know the brainwashed trumpsters are going to claim voter fraud if it's close. Besides, most places have other republicans that need to be voted out as well.

No ones saying they’re not voting. Quite the opposite. I just thought this was an interesting perspective and hopeful positive information.
