CNBC... link“Facebook and Twitter punish Trump over video where he says children ‘almost immune’ to Covid-19”“KEY POINTS Facebook on Wednesday removed a post from the account of President Donald Trump in which he said in a video interview that children are “almost immune” from Covid-19. Trump posted the video from a segment on an interview with Fox News in which he advocates that school’s should open, saying that in his view children are “almost definitely” immune from the coronavirus. Later in the evening, Twitter blocked the president’s campaign account, @teamtrump, from tweeting until it removed a tweet with a link to the same video.“ I’m curious how is removing false/misleading information from a social media platform a form of punishment for the person who posted it?

Well given the posts I have seen, they feel their side is being censored and that people "on the other side" have free reign to share their beliefs and theories but they do not. Im not saying I agree, but that is the argument: Censorship

Is it punishment or protection for those people who may read this dangerous information and believe it.

I’m curious how is removing false/misleading information from a social media platform a form of punishment for the person who posted it? Because the message that they want out there, doesn't get heard/seen.

To any rational, thinking person it isn't.
But the phrase "Donald Trump gets punished" is much more likely to get clicks than something like "Social media removes inaccurate information". I don't want to come across like some kind of "MSM is fake news" nutbag, but I'm becoming increasingly irritated at overly sensationalized headlines.

I think it probably feels like punishment to him, much like putting a toddler in time out until they’re ready to behave nicely.

As they say, free speech doesn't mean you can yell fire in a full theater and get away with it. Facebook and Twitter have taken a stand on blatantly false information. They get to make their rules. We have to follow them. Including Dump Truck.
