I am coming up on my 20th wedding anniversary, so I was flipping through my album yesterday. I had four bridesmaids, I no longer see or speak to two of them! One of them is a friend, we just drifted apart. The other is my SIL, who we had a falling out with recently.
So my three part question:
How long ago were you married? How many bridesmaids did you have? Are all of your bridesmaids still part of your life?

It will be 13 years in January. Two bridesmaids( was supposed to be three but one left the country a week or so before the wedding). The two that were there are still huge parts of my life.

My first wedding was in 1985 and I had eight bridesmaids. I keep in touch with all of them but to varying degrees. With two, we basically just exchange Christmas cards now. One is my best life-long friend. Several are family members.
My second wedding was in 2011 and I had no bridesmaids. It was a very small family-and-best-friends wedding in the backyard of the house we had just bought.

18 years 2 One mostly on facebook, as she lives across the state now, the other is d h's cousin's wife, so yes, although they have also moved an hour and a half away, so we are not as close as we once were.

I had one, DH's sister. She lives in town and I saw her regularly for 33 years until my DH died. Evidently in that family when the blood relative dies the surviving spouse is no longer considered family Oh, unless they have a gift giving occasion like weddings and showers

Married thirteen years ago. Four bridesmaids, five groomsmen. All still a regular part of our lives. One bm and one gm very sporadically, but still. We're not as geographically close as we used to be either.

I got married 14 years ago and I had four bridesmaids (two family members and two friends... asked another friend to be a bridesmaid as well, but she couldn't make the wedding, so I would have had five). I am very lucky to still be in touch with all of them and have good relationships with them all!

How many bridesmaids did you have? Are all of your bridesmaids still part of your life? First time - almost 15 years ago. 5. One was my sister so yes. 2 were his sisters so no. The other 2 were childhood friends. One flipped and started to hate me, slept with my ex, and we have not talked in 10 years. The other friend was my maid of honor at my second wedding and my only attendant. I haven't seen her since March. She moved closer to her new dh's work. Whenever she came to town, she spent her time with one of her sisters because their dhs got along. I think that friendship is dying.

We got married 29 years ago. I had one bridesmaid - dh's sister. I was friends with her long before I ever met dh (he was living in a different state). She's still one of my best friends.

interesting question..... 15 yrs ago i had 3 bridesmaids... 2 live out of the country... - oldest friend moved to the middle east, i see yearly and communicate thru email and facebook regularly
- the other lives in the carribean and we see each every couple of years but we stay in touch somewhat infrequently thru email and facebook.
- third was my closest friend when i married (MOH), lives in a neighbouring city and we are not nearly as close as we were (see each other once every 6-12 mths).

Married 30+ years Had 3 - SIL, BFF, Sister SIL doesn't like me, still see BFF & Sister
I tend to like weddings were there is more family involved than a whole group of friends.
Some of the stuff that I have seen on 4 weddings boggles my mind. Some with 6 (on each side) kinda boggles my mind.
Makes me think that either the bride or groom really is insecure and needs so many people up there with them, or it is a popularity thing.
Each to their own.

First time around I had 4, one is an ex SIL who I don't see anymore, one is deceased, one is a former HS classmate who I send a Christmas card to and one is a former neighbor that I have seen only a few times in 35 years. Second time, 20 years ago, I had two, still my closest friends.

I have been married for 23 years. I had 4 bridesmaids, maid of honor was my sister. My sister is obviously still my sister but we aren't particularly "close", however we talk regularly. I am friends with the other 3 on Facebook and we comment on each others pics and status' but we don't really talk regularly. 2 of them live across the country and the other we've just drifted apart. We get together for lunch every now and then but we aren't as close as we once were. I still care about them all very much.

We just celebrated our 20th! We had 5 bm and 1 jr bridesmaid( dh's younger 1/2 sister). 2 were my sisters, my maid of honor was my BFF and 2 were longterm school friends. Even though we live far away, I still am in close contact with everyone except the Jr. (dh's sister). She and hubs had a falling out after their dad died.

I had six. My mom had me include both my cousins. I have been married sixteen years. My MOH I see a couple of times a year. We live in the same town. Three of them, I am friends on Facebook so I see their updates but we don't really communicate. I hear about my cousins through my mom and I see the stuff they post on Facebook. I have to admit that with one of the cousins I am so tired of her drama and the junk she posts on Facebook. It would be easier if I didn't hear about her.

1 got married in 1998. (Now divorced) 4 bridesmaids, 4 groomsmen 2 bridesmaids and 2 groomsmen were related to me. So yes still in touch. The other 2 bridesmaids, still close to both. The other two groomsmen, one was a friend, we don't really keep in touch but the times we do it is just like we never were apart. The best man was my EX H Grandfather, he has since passed.

Married 12 years 3 bridesmaids. My BFF, my brother's wife and DH's brother's wife. All are still a part of my life...although I rarely see any of them because we're so far away. I'm in NY and the others are in TX, GA and CA.
The groomsmen were their spouses...so they are also still in our lives in the same distant fashion.

it will be 34 years in January - I had 2 - my sister as maid of honor, she passed away 3 years ago, and a sorority sister (who set dh and I up for a blind date). We correspond at Christmas but that is it any more. I would have had dh's sister, but she was pregnant and due in January and we didn't know if she would have made it to the wedding, and my mother would have had a fit with pregnant 16 year old bridesmaid!
