Classics are classic when they speak to each new generation. Not when they just represent one narrow time or place.

That was cute. My brother used to sarcastically call PC “Phil Can’t Get No Air Play Collins” because it seemed impossible to get in the car and drive more then 10 minutes without hearing a Phil Collins song no matter what type of station you had on.
Their reaction to the drum solo was great.

I love these reaction videos. Hadn't seen that one. Thanks. Apparently, their take on Dolly Parton's Jolene is wonderful too (haven't seen it). It's so amazing that our generation can watch other generations appreciate some of the best of our generation. W/my kids (who are almost 2 generations behind me - old mom) I love that we share so much culture - movies, music, memes, you tubes, tik toks, etc. The "generation gap" has never been smaller - imo.

I watch a number of reaction channels, including the twins.
The songs that get a universal "what did I just listen to" are Queen's Bohemian Raphsody and The Cranberries "Zombie"
It is lovely watching youngsters discovering new to them music, singers and bands. One chap I watch is really on a journey, he admits to have only ever listened to hip hop and watching him discover opera, country, and artists recommended by his grandmother (who had great taste) was joyful.

I love Jolene, I love Dolly. My DDs are 19 & 17 and they know classic country and rock. DD19 has everything on her playlist, old, new all kinds of genres. Music is so accessible nowadays.

This channel, his grandmother's recommendations were awhile ago and were her top five or ten songs from the sixties. m.youtube.com/c/JBLETHALTV/videos?disable_polymer=true&itct=CBAQ8JMBGAEiEwi3ssbGxonrAhWJ3LQKHRXlAvs%3D

We are addicted to music reaction videos. Jamel_AKA_Jamal and Lost in Vegas are our favorites. I'm loving these kids too though - thanks for sharing!

I love reaction videos too. I bet the boys aren’t aware that country music, just like most genres of music, have African/African-American influence throughout. “Burns shows that, just like in rock, jazz and pop, every facet of country — from its instrumentation to repertoire to vocal and instrumental techniques — is indebted to African and African-American traditions, but commercial decisions by white industry executives led to their exclusion from the genre for decades. The black influence on country music starts with the banjo, which often conjures the hazy image of a white pastoral South. But the instrument is a descendant of West African lutes, made from gourds, that were brought to America by slaves and which became a central part of slave music and culture in the South. Soon, the instrument was standardized, appropriated and spread to white audiences through minstrel and blackface shows — which deeply informed the rise of hillbilly music, a term that would later be rebranded as “country music.” (The blackface performer Emmett Miller’s “Lovesick Blues,” for example, inspired Hank Williams’ own rendition of the song, which is still one of the most beloved songs in country history.) White banjo innovators like Earl Scruggs and David Akeman later made the instrument integral to the genre’s DNA, and black musicians mostly abandoned the instrument.” Time article: time.com/5673476/ken-burns-country-music-black-artists/?amp=true

Oh my gosh, I’ve watched this several times today! Love it. They’re so cute, and their YouTube channel is really cool. The one where they listen to Jolene by Dolly Parton is great.
ETA: just saw Jolene mentioned above. 😁

I watch these twins! They recently reacted to Whitney Houston’s version of I Will Always Love You. They were really surprised when they saw her as they thought she was an old, fat lady!!! I forget I’m so old that the younger generation don’t know some of the music legends of my youth!

I follow twinsthenewtrend as well. They are open to anything and always positive in their reviews, so people trust them with their favorites. If Fred cracks a smile, you know he really likes it, while Tim tends to be more effusive. They listen carefully to the lyrics and really like story songs.
I'm trying to remember some that made Tim tear up. "Somebody to Love" by Queen and "Only Human" by Rag'n'Bone Man are two that come to mind. And watching him listen to "Fast Car" by Tracy Chapman made ME tear up, when he realized there was no happy ending.
But boy, did Tim like "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley. I don't blame him; I love being rickrolled, myself!
People also like to explain the songs and provide background information and music history in the comments, which I have found educational too.

In the Air Tonight has the best buildup. The moment you hear the drums, the song is transformed. It is amazing. One of my favorites.

I have no idea how I found these guys on youtube, but I have watched several reaction videos. He is always positive and has the best compliments. My favorite is when he watched The Mommas and the Poppas California Dreaming. Someone messaged him they look like they could be the cast of Scooby Doo. OMG! His snorting laugh had me laughing even harder. There's also reactions to comedians too.
ETA: I've been surprised by the amount of people he doesn't know! Him and his brother were like, we know, we know. Everyone tells us about Stevie Wonder!
