Not sure if it’s the same instance, but someone (was she Wiccan? And why do I think that? Was it in her username?) posted a picture of herself in a forest or something and it wasn’t her. Scrapower/Scrappower not sure which spelling is right. That was here though, right?

I can’t remember the username but someone posted a photo of a model in a “post a photo of yourself” thread and they were called out and never came back. They posted a lot, too. Not sure if it’s the same instance, but someone (was she Wiccan? And why do I think that? Was it in her username?) posted a picture of herself in a forest or something and it wasn’t her. I have no idea of the name, but that was right after I came here. I was stunned that she did that and equally stunned that some peas did the research to expose her.

nd equally stunned that some peas dud the research to expose her. I don't remember it being research; the way I remember it, someone came across the avatar photo on a website somewhere as a piece of artwork?? something like that?

It was on a thread where people were sharing pics of themselves, she posted a picture that she claimed was her looking all ethereal and someone recognised the image. It used to pop up regularly on Pinterest.
It was all a bit silly really and I think she could easily have laughed it off but she kept arguing about it and refused to back down.

Do you remember when the 2Peas message board was shutting down and someone started this one (THANK YOU!) and some guy came along and wanted us all to jump ship and use his site? I vaguely remember him saying he was doing it for his wife, who was a Pea.

And was someone’s son going to be her date? Or am I making stuff up? I want to say that those were two different scenarios, but I could be totally wrong. I want to say, maybe Brooklyn offered to go to prom with a pea’s son and it was talked up, but I can’t remember if any money was exchanged or if any of it came to fruition.

How about the collecting money for a transplant and then going to Disneyland one? Libis-lizz. Her defense was “well we had already earmarked that money for Disney...”

I guess its all history now and its fair game to divulge. The garden girls got paid in store credit and well we were always chomping at the bit to buy new stuff. Thats where the problem was. New stuff came in.... the garden girls bought it all new product immediately because they had all this money to spend. I think it was like 25$ a layout if I remember correctly and the requirement was 5 LO a month. Hello! thats a TON of product times TWENTY to twenty five garden girls!! . Then the layouts would get done and all them items used were out of stock because we bought them all! That was really fun while it lasted! Not a great way to run a store though. I was thinking it was $50/layout, and it would be more if it was a special project/blog post/etc.. As a digi GG, I was paid actual cash, because we received all of the digital products free. 2Peas was one of the only DT gigs at the time that paid actual money, and didn’t just compensate with product. Even giving a credit, and allowing you to spend it on what you wanted, was different than most others, where they just sent you what they wanted. I think when it sold they had to change the pay thing and is that when the price went up? I have no idea. All I know is I had so much scrapbook stuff, my house was spilling at the seams. I think the was the downfall for me. I had too much. It got so overwhelming to keep it all organized and then when you were making layouts to please manufacturers and they really had no meaning was a difficult thing . Looking back on it all... jeez, if someone pays $50 a layout.... I will go back to work! lol! Sign me up for 10 a day!

I have long been fascinated by the claim that 2 peas was the bestest ever scrapbooking store online. Everyone said that. They had an AMAZING gallery of layouts. Oodles of tutorials and super fun message boards. That part is undeniable. But the store part wasn’t great. Their products were NEVER in stock. Maybe it was great for garden girls, but for regular little old me, I could never acquire the good stuff. I would see pictures of it, fall in love with it, but couldn’t have most of it because it was always sold out. And if they were in stock they took forever to get to you. Those don’t make for pleasant shopping experiences. I guess its all history now and its fair game to divulge. The garden girls got paid in store credit and well we were always chomping at the bit to buy new stuff. Thats where the problem was. New stuff came in.... the garden girls bought it all new product immediately because they had all this money to spend. Yeah that’s a terrible business plan. I had always assumed the GGs just got free reign of the store and this confirms it. “Paying” then in store credit and then allowing the clean the new stuff out-well Kristina wasn’t all that business savvy. As for the best scrapbook store-maybe back then before other places cropped up but kow, there are much bigger stores with much more stock shipping out way faster.

We all came here for more than scrapbooking. Thats what made it a success. Kristina was at the forefront of something and she did pull it off. The store was secondary. Look. WE are still here. 20 years. She started something huge.

If you don’t have stuff to sell, there’s no cash coming in.

I just be thinking of something else, this would have been after she left or she would have been inappropriately old for a high school boy. It was closer to the end times I think. Does anyone else remember the prom story?

That was here though, right? The old board as far as I can remember, not a 100% though. I think it had to be here, because I remember people outing themselves (jokingly) that they didn’t really look like their avatar either. I remember confessing that I wasn’t actually bald. On the old board I had a different avatar.

I recall people complaining about GGs getting all the new product openly on the board. I never thought 2 peas was a great store. I always thought scrapbook.com (which clearly outlasted 2 peas) was the best store 🤔 Their message boards were lame, but their gallery was on par with 2 peas.

Scrapower/Scrappower not sure which spelling is right. That was here though, right? Not trying to be a jerk, but the title of the thread does say “this board” so I am a little confused why people are posting things that happened over on 2peas, but we can just go with it.

Brooklyn was way way WAY far back and had nothing to do with either of the prom stories. They were much more recent.

The one I am thinking of I believe involved a boy going on a train to the destination. But, maybe I am losing my marbles. I seem to remember the most inconsequential facts and mess up the part that is really important.

I guess I'm thinking of stuff like Birdgate and Donna Downey not letting someone out of her Inspired event after a cancer diagnosis.
Also some of the HOF drama about photos not being their own or taken with a remote timer and who was the HOFer or lady who thought VERY highly of herself and had a poor attitude towards most of us lowly scrapbookers (Kristina Contes maybe? I'm horrible with names).

Not trying to be a jerk either, but this is what the OP said. “On the “why not share your location” thread, many peas alluded to privacy violations from other members. I’ve heard the story about Mrs. Tyler, but what else has happened? What else is in our pea history?” Our pea history clearly predates this board, and I am pretty sure the Mrs. Tyler thing happened on the old board.

The kitten heels thread is what finally convinced me to register and start posting. I thought her name was Tempe, though?
I remember everything mentioned here so far except the Skybar/divorce lawyer thing. I have to admit that Skybar was NOT one of my favorite peas. She lived with her dog in a mobile home in the desert somewhere and posted like it was her job (I think she was retired?). I remember her posting that Obama (or B.O. as she always called him) was speaking in code and when he said he was “going golfing” he really meant something far more nefarious. She was absolutely crazy and I never could decide if she was really that nuts or if she was just trying to spice up the board a little.
The situation with the stolen picture was interesting, mostly because it involved a long-standing member of the board who had never done anything particularly controversial before. When the other peas called her out, she continued to insist it was a picture of her...and then she just vanished and never graced the board with her presence ever again (as far as I know, anyway).
So many memories!
